From President Barack Obama's acceptance speech tonight at the Democratic National Convention...

Contrast that with Mitt Romney's mockery of climate change issues at the RNC last week.

On a related note, during his speech tonight, Obama took the following jab at a recent Mitt Romney foreign policy faux pas: "After all, you don’t call Russia our number one enemy – and not al Qaeda – unless you’re still stuck in a Cold War time warp."

To which emptywheel's Marcy Wheeler responded on Twitter: "Except, of course, climate change is a FAR bigger threat than both."

She is, of course, correct.

For the slightly longer version of the section on energy and climate change in Obama's speech tonight (you can ignore the "clean coal" part, he doesn't really mean that, right? Hey, at least he didn't mention nukes!) see below...
