Meant to post this some time ago. As seen a few weeks ago on a street corner lamp post in Kansas City, MO, at the intersection of Baltimore and 38th...
* With apologies to the legendary Freeway Blogger...who actually has a new, killer 60 second video demonstration of how he plies his trade. So here's that as well. Perhaps more germane, if not nearly as amusing as the above (at least to me). Buckle up...
It was "60 feet long and only lasted about fifteen minutes," the legendary and mysterious Freeway Blogger reports about the above handiwork, courtesy of a brave minion in Chicago. But it was "well worth it according to the artists," says FB, who points out the sign, seen by thousands in that short moment, was "Made with cheap latex paint and disposable plastic tablecloths: about ten dollars for a hundred foot roll. Brilliant."
But leave it to the legendary and mysterious one himself to hit it out of the park with this latest beauty featuring what just may be one of the best catch phrases of our time...
"Blowing the job" bumper stickers coming soon, FB tells us, along with a request that we alert folks to his new "public punditry" contest in league with a few other freedom fighting sites.
Consider it done, and a job decidedly not blown, amigo...Far it be for The BRAD BLOG to leave any unfortunate stain on our reputation.
(Be sure to click the link above, btw, for a sampling of some of FB's greatest historical hits!)
As I roll down the freeway towards home, I'm reminded of our friend, the legendary and mysterious Freeway Blogger, who didn't wait five years to remember 9/11. Here's a look back at a few of his finest moments remembering...while Bush and Friends had long forgotten...
Our good friend, the mysterious and legendary Freeway Blogger posted the above yesterday, one prophetic day before Bush's latest nonsense about "hunting down bin Laden." Bush was just kidding, of course. FB wasn't.
On that note, FB is now organizing nationwide. Won't you join him?
Click the photo for more info, but as an aside, as we pass this horrible milestone, we were honored recently to witness the work of the brilliant and prolific Freeway Blogger firsthand along the 101 Freeway as we made our way back to Los Angeles from Portland, OR. We caught several of the above signs as well as "The War is a Lie".
In re: the above, memorializing our lost friend Andy, the great Freeway Blogger reports in to us this morning that, this one has been up "four days now on I-5 in the heart of San Diego downtown, so a couple hundred thousand commuters have seen it."
"the enclosed, by the way, is what happens when you take down my signs and replace them with a lame "Support our troops" sign done w/ paper and printer..."
He went on to add...
"never fuck with the freewayblogger..."
Freeway (or Mr. Blogger, if you're nasty) was our guest in the final hour of last weekend's BRAD SHOW. If you missed the interview, it was a hoot! Go to the BRAD SHOW Archives and scroll on down to HOUR 4 of the 6/11/05 show to give it a listen!
Shaping up to be a great show so far! Check out our currently scheduled guests...
Retired 27-year CIA Analyst, RAY MCGOVERN on the CIA, intelligence matters, the Downing Street Minutes (he's testifying next week at the just-announced U.S. House Judiciary hearings), and working for Presidents from Kennedy to Reagan to Bush Sr.
Tune in via www.BradShow.com this Saturday Night! Join us right here at BRAD BLOG for a LIVE Open Thread during the show! And feel free to DONATE to help keep us up and on the air! I can use all the help I can get!
NOTE: That's also a rare picture of the ingenious and mysterious Freeway Blogger himself, otherwise known as "Scarlet P." --- and more good news, he is currently scheduled to be a guest of ours on this weekend's BRAD SHOW!
The great Freeway Blogger strikes again this weekend with an all-out effort to bring the issue of voter irregularities in Ohio and Florida to the attention of the American people on November 13th & 14th.
Please check out this page for how you can help raise awareness for the issue over the weekend, have a bit of guerrilla fun and do something positive for your country --- wherever you may live in America! Whether it be Red, Blue or Purple!
It's your country! And your democracy! And it's not gonna save itself!
For some reason I decided to get in a few hours of sleep this morning. So I'm just beginning to catch up on all that's transpired since I went to bed. Much analysis and opinion to come today no doubt.
There will be plenty of time for the hand-wringing and discussions of the Right's Victory of Hate and Fear over Hope and Courage.
For the moment though, as I begin to get caught up, read the ominous tea-leaves of what Bush's statement today foretold, and catch up with comments and email here, I think the words of The Freeway Blogger say it best:
