BRAD BLOG Nominated for Two THREE FOUR Koufax Awards!

(Diebold won't answer our calls, so we need YOUR help instead!)

Share article:

UPDATE 2/4/05: Looks like while I was gone The BRAD BLOG received another (our fourth) Koufax Award nomination. This time for Best Series (Clint Curtis: Whistleblower Affidavit). And I admit to being quite proud of that particular recognition! So we’ll move this item back up to the top for a short while and again ask for your support by casting a vote for our “Clint Curtis” series by a leaving a comment in support of same at the aforementioned link. Looks like this nomination was announced well over a week ago while I was gone, so BRADBLOGGERS will have some voting/catching-up to do! Please drop by and give us a vote! For that one, and the others — see below — if you haven’t already! (Yes, I’m finally back in town as of this morning, but have so much catch up work now to do, I probably won’t be able to begin blogging again until Monday…unless I just can’t help myself. Also…I’m not sure, but these votes may be just the semi-finalist voting, so I may have to debase myself yet again in the future to beg for your votes if we make it to the “finals”. But we’ve long ago cast off all illusions of self-respect, so why worry about such things now?) – BF

UPDATE 1/12/05: Wow, embarrassment of riches. BRAD BLOG just nominated for yet another Koufax award category! This time, “Most Deserving of Wider Recognition”. If you are inclined to vote for us (and thanks to those who already have in the other categories!) you may do so via the just added link to the third category in the list below. Bumping this item temporarily back up to the top, long enough to catch your attention! And thanks for all the exceedingly nice words in many of your votes! – BF

Looks like The BRAD BLOG has been nominated in (so far) two three different categories for The Koufax Awards!

Please feel free to put a vote for us by leaving a comment with “BRAD BLOG” in it, at the following nomination page links!:

More nominations for other categories are still to come. Keep an eye out at the Wampum blog (Home of the Koufax Awards), and feel free to shout out if you notice that we have been nominated in any other categories as they continue to announce them!

It is, as they say, an honor just to be nominated! 🙂

Everything is right about this blog.
The people are good. I was blown away by how everyone responded to Knee Jerk’s distress.
The people here are intelligent , sometimes to the point of genius, wonderfully articulate, full of factual information, genuinely concerned about the collective and our country, truly democratic and humanitarian, accepting of not-so-nice misguided individuals, freely expressive, strong, brave, wise, funny, and entertaining.

What more could you ask for?

I say, "Vote for the Bradblog!"

Awards are nice, but don’t get so caught up in it and forget we still need a major push in this country for paper trail voting within 2 years.
There will never be an honest election in this country until paper trail varification of elections is the law of the land.

Wayne…believe me…nothing is forgotten! Please stop by VelvetRevolution.us if you have not already!

And thanks for the nice words, Teresa! I concur! 🙂

Hopefully you said similar at those links where the votes are actually counted! 🙂

Teresa’s right. I feel more comfortable and accepted here, with like-minded individuals than at any other spot on the Web. The writing is good and the ideas and information fast and furious. Good show, Brad. 🙂

I just needed someplace to save this:

I read somewhere that Marcuse said: "Man will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest." Assign names that suit for the major roles.

    Thanks.

And the only people who say that awards don’t mean anything are the people who never get any. I voted Brad, and this vote will be counted!

I went to make a comment on the Wampam site and cannot seem to find out how to make a comment or vote. I only seem to be able to read comments. Please let clods like myself know how to write comments.

Award or no award… WE know what you’ve done, we know you’ve helped educate thousands, probably millions and as others have said, it’s nice to see so many literate, intelligent people in one ‘place’.

It’s funny.. we get called "tin-foil-hat" conspiracists but we’re the only ones with the intellect and cynacism to see through the BS.

We’ve seen you handle the naysayers and take on Olbermann, bring the Clint Curtis exclusive and a lot more besides. What you’ve done here is nothing short of amazing Brad. Well done and well done to everyone else here. – I’m sure if we persist we’ll succeed. If we want a world worth living in… giving up isn’t an option.

On a sidenote.. If you need any help with anything technical (programming) for VR and there’s anything I can do (for free of course), please let me know.

Harvey – Click on either of the specific links in the article above for "Best New Blog" or "Best Overall Blog" and then scroll to the bottom of the page to leave comments with your vote.

Method – Please touch base with me via Email to give me an idea of your programming skills. Yes, we need folks on board!

Everybody – Thanks to all of you who have placed a vote for BRAD BLOG in the Koufax Awards. In checking out Harvey’s concerns I got to see many of the votes you placed, and the exceedingly kind words you added with them. So thank you for that (blush)… There may be other blogs out there with larger readership (group blogs like DKos and AmericaBlog etc) who may be able to have their folks cast more votes, but the kind words that many of you have added is exceedingly touching. Thank you. From the bottom of my blog.

    Hey Brad:

I voted for your blog in all three events [have you considered entering the ironblog-triathlon?] but I did it anonymously and I didn’t even think of leaving kind words or anything. I didn’t even stop to read the comments — I just dropped by to vote. So I’m kind of embarrassed about that omission, but I’m sure you already know this: I really do think you’re the worst! 😉

    You rot, Brad!

    Rot on! 😉

Okay, I voted for you for all three categories. AND THE REASONS? First, because I found your information to be accurate when mainstream media was silent, and SECOND, because when I had some fun with you about Howard Dean, whom you proposed for head of the DNC, you did not do the left-wing thing and turn your back in dissent. You actually ARGUED with me. Cool.
I am a great admirer of MLKing, and he said it’s all about DIALOGUE.

Did my duty and voted in all three events 5 times, 5 different names, 5 different emails, and nobody will ever know. I’ve learned a lot about vote fraud in the last couple of months. Why should the Republicans have all the fun?

-Mr. Friedman, I’m happy to "deliver" my votes for you.-

I voted , as well, but I ‘m afraid if this becomes the hottest blog in cyberspace, we will have to start editing the little novelettes we post.

That’s one thing I love here… the call and response.

You and "only" 157 (to date!) other liberal blogs have been "nominated".

You forgot to tell us that the "Koufax Award" nomination process is a "little flawed" to say the least.

Tell us how blogs get "nominated" Brad. We are all ears.

NewYorker said on 1/13/2005 @ 6:48am PT: [Permalink]

Some people, if you can called them that, keep using the word “LIBERAL” as a BAD WORD”. For their information:

    LIBERAL:

Synonyms: big, bighearted, bounteous, bountiful, broad, broad-minded, civil-libertarian, free, freehanded, generous, giving, handsome, inexact, liberalistic, loose, neoliberal, openhanded, progressive, progressive, reformist, socialised, socialized, tolerant.

    Definition:

    1. [n] a person who favors a political philosophy of progress and reform and the protection of civil liberties
    2. [n] a person who favors an economic theory of laissez-faire and self-regulating markets
    3. [adj] tolerant of change; not bound by authoritarianism, orthodoxy, or tradition
    4. [adj] showing or characterized by broad-mindedness; "a broad political stance"; "generous and broad sympathies"; "a liberal newspaper"; "tolerant of his opponent’s opinions"
    5. [adj] not literal; "a loose interpretation of what she had been told"; "a free translation of the poem"
    6. [adj] given or giving freely; "was a big tipper"; "the bounteous goodness of God"; "bountiful compliments"; "a freehanded host"; "a handsome allowance"; "Saturday’s child is loving and giving"; "a liberal backer of the arts"; "a munificent gift"; "her fond and openhanded grandfather"
    7. [adj] having political or social views favoring reform and progress

    Antonyms: narrow-minded.

If you are against (opposed)of being a “LIBERAL”, you are “NARROW-MINDED” by definition.

If Jesus were alive today HE will be called a “Liberal”. He was crucified by the “Narrow-Minded” (or Conservative) religious people of His time.

Brad, I tried my best to vote for your blog, but as I’m a technological numbskull maybe I didn’t – but I want to tell you personally that this site is the finest place on the whole Internet, and the people who contribute to it are the nicest people I’ve ever not met, especially Teresa, if I may step a bit out of line. I hope to return from Prague (I originally ran away in 91 to get away from Bullsh 41) to the states soon, the better to pitch in. Love and Peace to All

Yes, sorry but LIBERAL is a dirty word around America today.

You can thank the welfare state, the whining complainers, the high taxes, the lack of personal responsibility, etc. because this is what you LIBERALS have given America for 30 years.

    But not anymore!

    I love you all.

Horkus – You will be rewarded for your fraud and malfeasance with a U.S. Congressional seat as a member of the Velvet Revolution Party.

Apologist Jimmo – The nomination process was discussed on BRAD BLOG in a previous item. Go find it. And in re:
"You can thank the welfare state, the whining complainers, the high taxes, the lack of personal responsibility, etc. because this is what you LIBERALS have given America for 30 years."

Do you mean the welfare state of Red States who take more in from the Fed Gov. than they give out? (unlike Blue states)? Or do you mean the welfare state of the Corporate Welfare Queens who you support who suck the tit of government welfare? Do you mean whining complainers who complain about the results in WA state’s gubernatorial election? Do you mean the high taxes paid by Blue states so that Red states can get free pork as brought to them by the Republican politicians who’ve created the biggest deficit in the history of mankind? Do you mean the lack of PERSONAL responsiblity of the kind where a "President" kills hundreds of thousands in a war for one reason, and then blames both everyone else for his error, yet holds nobody accountable?

    Let us know.

czaragorn – To vote, all you need to do is go to the bottom of the pages I linked to, and fill in a comment with BRAD BLOG (or BradBlog).

harveyf – I’m fairly confident either version of the above will be counted appropriately.

Susan Nunes – All of us nominated have "openly shilled" on our own blogs, since in truth the Koufax Awards mean nothing, are not particularly well publicized, and are largely for our own amusement and satirical self-aggrandizement. (Though it’s still nice to win something, isn’t it?) If we didn’t tell you about them, nobody would know. It’s not like they’re covered by the MSM or anybody else!

    Cyteria – Fuck off. 😉

    We’re on a roll.
Viva la Bradblog and the VR!

Thanks, Czaragorn, for the nod. get back here ASAP, as we need all the help we can get.
As long as there is excitement around this resistance, I feel that things will work out well.
If we let ourselves get the shit kicked out of us, then it is our faults. we’re strong, able-bodied,
    "young" warriors.

Nothing wrong with a little encouragement. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I am still trying to recover from the hate that was flung during the last presidential (ha!) campaign. It was scary. We have sunk to a new low, and we need to remind ourselves that there is goodness in life, and that we, too, are good.

Thanks, Brad, for collecting us in all your wisdom, and thanks, everybody, for being who you are.

Anybody who feels he has to openly shill for his blog isn’t going to get my vote for anything.

You’ve already got the readership and the recognition; you don’t need to shill for it.

I think what Ms. Nunes meant to say was, "I know it’s rigged anyway, so why waste my time voting."

The actual definition of a "shill" is a person in a con game who acts like an innocent bystander but is actually part of the con. That sounds like our media to me. Andy Rooney got it wrong:

2 : to act as a spokesperson or promoter

"the eminent Shakespearean producer, director, actor and star… is now shilling for a brokerage house" — Andy Rooney

Then again… he’s part of the media so maybe he’s just shillin’.

Yes, Brad is a genius and well-educated! And how difficult is it to search the Internet(s) and find a story and conspiracy that agrees with you?

Attorney Jim – you are right again!

No matter what the definition of "Liberal" is, you all fit in one of these categories: leftists, defeatists, socialists, dope smokers (lawbreakers), New Agers, communists, conspiracy theorists, naysayers, nutcases, left wing kooks, and losers of elections!

But, please vote for this blog and please please please please please send money!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am also right! You all do fit in one of those categories!!!!! LOL

Without my comments and one or two others, you guys are just preaching to yourselves. This blog is not near the best that is out there. The best ones are the ones on the right.

But send money! Even though I have already said that average liberals do not give their money to charity or anyone else. They think $20 here and there is enough. That is their good work while they complain about Bush not giving enough money to this and that.

I doubt there is one person on this blog that gives $50 a month automatically out of their paycheck to this blog! Any takers?

I don’t think it’ll be much longer …Geedumya getting away with everything. The pile of shit is responding to physics and the laws of gravity, it is getting so huge. The pile is also responding to laws of chemistry and mathematics, in that the odor is increasing exponentially. Geology figures in…the earth just shifted on its axis from asshole infiltration, I believe. And quantum physics is encouraging us to move on to new dimension and leave these primitives behind. There are greater laws than theirs.

I do believe that the laws are also in effect in that the mighty force of the Bradblog and the other great forums of today are having an influence. The truth is also a part of the game. As is the true fellowship of man.

Here is a nighttime story for the children of Bradville:

Once upon a time in the magical place called Bradville, there gathered together a band of like-minded, democratic, humanitarian individuals who wanted to save their land from the evil king.
Their crops were poisoned, their waters were tainted, prisons were erected, fellow humans in foreign lands were murdered, and their voices were stolen.

They talked in whispers, they planned, they hoped, they prayed, then they spoke, they raged , and they joined in a Velvet Revolution.

THEY SAID IT! THEY SAID! O LORD THEY SAID IT TONIGHT!!!
Terry McAuliffe, in the DNC farewell, said,"WE WILL NEVER AGAIN LET THE REPUBLICANS STEAL AN ELECTION!!"

    It is in the airwaves.

    And the gods are listening.

I just might be Paul! Since I haven’t seen a donation like the one he’s challenged you to send coming from him!

Lotta nerve telling you guys how much you should DONATE when he hasn’t even done so himself!

You’d think he was a hypocritical Republican or something…Oh, wait!…Yup…

Brad and Paul are two different people. I am just trying to help Brad out.

Wow! At least two liberals gave a one time gift of $25 or perhaps $50. He’ll starve to death on that. That proves my point that average run of the mill liberals like you guys don’t give.

The United Way told me a long time ago that the biggest givers to them are the folks that already give 5-10% to their church – evangelical Christians.
That is why the United Way had to stop funding the baby-killers at Planned Childlessness and had to continue funding the Boy Scouts (not allowing homo scout leaders), except maybe in the liberal mecca state of California. Yes, I used mecca on purpose.

Teresa, are you living in sound kind of nut world? Nothing is going to happen to Bush!!!!!!!!!

Cheryl, you seem like a nice chick, even for a Canadian socialist.

Paul, perhaps you didn’t hear about the little scandal at the United Way a few years back. I wouldn’t give them any money, or pay any attention to anything they say. Having been involved in fundraising before, I know what a scam it can be, like most churches and religions. But it’s your money, if you want to give it away to people who will gladly take it from you and spend it on raising more, you go right ahead. I’d rather roll a fat joint out of a c-note and smoke it.

I meant to say: Send that c-note to BradBlog.

Is George Soros a liberal, Paul? I bet he could spare a few c-notes for Brad. Get on it, Paul!

Proves my point earlier that you guys are dope smokers.

    > Lotta nerve telling you guys how much you should DONATE when he hasn’t even done so himself!

    I can’t give to something I don’t believe in.

Again, it just proves my point that average liberals don’t give. See Gore’s tax records he provided sometime before the 2000 election for another example.

Average liberals = not Hollywood liberals.
