Is there a problem with IBC3. The repeats were on and I was listening. Suddenly they went dead. When I went to IBC they no longer had listed IBC3. Cnanot pick up through White Rose sight either.

I tried all of the links for airtime and the only link that was live was RadioPower.org. That is running the Mike Malloy Reruns from Air America.

Well until Brad Comes on I will have to listen to Radio Power. It is what I have to settle for I guess. Please let me know if he gets on Line. I think the problem is with IBC this is the first time in several days that it does not list IBC3 with Brad Photo on line.

I had not posted on a blog before yesterday. I have tried but have gotten the message "you do not have permission to access this site". I did not know what I had done wrong. I was so pleased when my posting showed up here. I am happy I learned how to 'refresh' the site. I know, I know, yes I am George's age, so you must forgive my ineptitude. Yesterday was a learning experience, now if I can just remember how I did it all!!

The message from an Indian Elder....reminds me of Cindy and Folks………...I sent to Randi Rhodes too!
I am an oldy too!..YaYa (Greek for Grandma!)
4 sons...5 grandsons!
THE INVITATION
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living
I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon
I want to know if you have touched the center of your being, or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain.
I want to know if you can sit with pain Mine or your own Without moving to hide it Or fade it Or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy Mine or your own If you can dance with wildness and the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us To be careful To be realistic To remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me is true
I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself. If you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul. If you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see Beauty even when it is not pretty every day. And if you can source your own life from its presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon. “Yes”
It doesn’t interest me to know where you live or how much money you have
I want to know if you can get up after a night of grief and despair weary and bruised to the bone to do what needs to be done to feed the children.
It doesn’t interest me who you know or how you came to be here
I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied
I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.
Oriah Mountain Dreamer,
Indian Elder

Welcome and Hi to all.
I'm sure Brad is being hit with everything they've got. If he gets back on it will be a miracle, and miracles do happen. Can't someone provide him with a new hamster? Ha! I read last night that some pro-Bushites mistakenly thought some people were anti-war, cursed them, tried to take their signs away and were otherwise very naughty. The police had to escort the group through the wild crazies. Did anyone get arrested?

Greetings, Jpentz. Yesterday's Bradcast was so hot I couldn't tear myself away for more than a few minutes. And you're right, Unkleduke; I NEVER listen to radio. Today should be really good too.
Has everyone heard that George Galloway is going to be touring the US with Jane Fonda, anti-war? I hope it's in time, especially considereing the dire saber-rattling vis-a-vis Iran. Here's a comprehensive analysis of that looming threat.

BRAD SHOW's Crawford engineer, Otie, is working with the network folks at Camp Casey II to solve a technical "mystery" before the broadcast can begin.
He currently expects the BRAD SHOW to begin broadcasting between 1:30 and 2:00 pm (CT).
As always, we appreciate your patience as we struggle through this latest challenge! It is truly "RAW RADIO".
Thank you for hanging with us!!

I so totally respect everyone that knows how to navigate in the computer world, I just wish I knew more and am doing my best. I don't want to lean on you guys because of the serious business at hand, but may ask for advice now and then. I will now read for further instructions on how to hear the show! I caught the feeling back in early spring that the tide was turning. Intuition or ESP? I spent the late sixties, early seventies in Southern Cal --- ripe with Flower Children back then. Cruisin' Sunset Strip was an experience, what with the micro minis and beads and the handmade tire track sandals. Anybody remember all that?
I'm moving back, northern Cal this time, in late November, and I can't wait! I'm positively salivating to spend the new revolution --- complete with a full-blown anti-war movement --- back in California. As Howard Dean would say, "Yaaaaagh!"
So, folks, there's more than one old burn-out posting on this blog. Ha! And LMSAO!
And I can't wait for Brad's show to begin today. I'm been glued to my headphones all week. Awesome! He's putting the pros to shame this week. Maybe one of the radio networks will offer him a contract --- yes? does he deserve it? yes!!!! --- after all his hard work.
I really love the long interviews. Sure beats those five-minute quickies we hear on the other shows. He asks such insightful questions. Brilliant!

I just had to say THANK YOU for posting that beautiful message from Oriah Mountain Dreamer, Indian Elder. I will print that out and keep it. Love & Light to you!
Just a quickie before I head out (just seems appropriate right now!)
Sounds Of Silence
Simon & Garfunkel
Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence
In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence

Woops! The rest of the lyrics:
And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence
"Fools", said I, "You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you"
But my words, like silent raindrops fell
And echoed
In the wells of silence
And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls"
And whispered in the sounds of silence
We shall overcome. We shall no longer be SILENCED! Thank you Brad et al for kicking down the wall!

Merifour,
Well, I sure as hell remember the 60's! And I'm also a novice on the computer (as my children are fond of reminding me) so you're definitely not alone on that score either.
I was without power for a few days down here in Florida due to the hurricane..no computer, no phone, no nuthin' except candles, wind, rain, alot of beer & my kids, who fortunately are quite amusing. Well ok, the beer helped.
Missed you guys!

Joan, thank you, I am not alone, I am not alone! I do use the computer for 'research' ... my mantra--the 'back arrow' is my friend. But communicating on a blog is so much different than a chat room. When I got my computer in '95 I found a friendly little chat room and learned to navigate it, but so much has changed since then.....occasionally I have tried to get to some serious rooms but all I seem to find is a bunch of kids? talking trash. I am so glad I found this "blog". I have been following Cindy since she went to Crawford. Indeed she is the spark that was needed to start the fire. God Bless Cindy.

re #63: Brad doesn't have a contract, and that's the main reason why his voice sounds so rational. He doesn't have to kowtow to any sponsors, and nobody sets his agenda. But that means he relies on our support.
How can you help?
You can make a donation via Credit Card or PayPal...
... or you can make a donation via Snail Mail...
... and if you can't do either of these things, then maybe you might want to do some shopping at The BRAD STORE.

In breaks or after the show, check out the Online Think Tank for Election Reform here.
Guests on Sunday include election investigator/journalist Lynn Landes, programmer Jeremiah Akin who investigated the Sequoia voting machines, and other key activists who've done (and described) what others can do. (E.g., what/how to observe at a count or recount).

Ok to all those folks who keep pounding away on "He already met with her!" Just came across this story from the other day. Boy, that liberal media is sure right on top of things, eh?
"The president finished his speech and made his way out of the Idaho Center, shaking hands and autographing a few ticket stubs along the way.
Meanwhile, in a room just outside the main hall, a smaller audience waited for a more personal meeting with President George W. Bush. They share a special bond, these "Gold Star families." All have lost a loved one in Iraq or Afghanistan. Each family was given a number and when it was called, was led into a smaller room comfortably furnished with a leather sofa and chairs and flowers.
Marian Rowe of Gooding is a member of one of those families. She became a Gold Star mom a year ago when her son, Marine Capt. Alan Rowe, was killed when an improvised explosive device detonated in Iraq's Al Anbar Province. Rowe, one of nine Idaho Marines and soldiers who have lost their lives in Iraq, was 35 years old and left behind a wife, Dawn, and two small children, Blake, now 6, and Caitlin, 4. They were there to meet the president, too.
It was the second time Dawn Rowe and her children had met the commander and chief. They first met him last December when he visited the Marine base at Twentynine Palms near her home in Yucca Valley, Calif.
"I went over and gave him a hug," Dawn said. "He remembered meeting the kids."
Dawn said she, too, liked what the president had to say Wednesday.
"We owe it to them to see this through," she said.
Kinda blows THAT argument out of the water, eh? Bush'll only meet with those who agree with him? HORSESHIT!

Questions :
When are we, the public going to demand why politicians supporting Bush's war sending their sons and daughters? One in particular, Gov Milt Romney, of Massachuesetts? Just give the public a reason...his sons range from 23 -35 years.
Second : Those of you supporting the troops, are you aware that they STILL DO NOT HAVE ADEQUATELY ARMOURED VEHICLES? Why aren't you demanding Bush give the troops safe transportation into enemy terriotory?
Per Joe Galloway, military analyst for Knight Ridder newspaper 08/10/05.

IT has occurred to me, that the followers might need my question asked a little clearer.
Instead of bashing each other during your "rally"
Ask your leader (s) why the troops still after 27 months have only lightly armoured pick ups for protection from enemy bombs. This from a fallen soldier's letter to his mother.
Also, those of you supporting the war...have you been to a VA hospital to comfort the young man who has lost both legs and his manhood? Or the young girl with no arms, tell her she is still pretty without being able to use make up or even dress herself?
Bush supporters spend some time with our wounded and see if your opinion stays the same.
Surely you can find an hour in your busy lives.

Merifour- there are a lot of folks who frequent Brad Blog who well remember the '60s and '70s. Not a coincidence, I'm sure, as that was a time of activism and political awareness. Even though Brad is still a young'un, we've accepted him into the fold .
BTW, yesterday was the first time I've had trouble posting comments, and I've been around since Nov 2004. They've gotta get a back-up hamster or two down there!

Just sent $$$ ... retired military (27 years) ... I have a personal stake in this. Keep up the good work Brad! And America stands in solidarity with Cindy! The toughest thing I ever did in the military was notify the next-of-kin. You have no credible voice in protest unless you've served or suffered. I witnessed the deaths of hundreds while I escaped 9/11. To have their deaths mocked for political gain in an illegal war is the ultimate, impeachable offense.

We are the traditional base, but we no longer count for s....... The Get Out The Vote move last year was all out, and got the max number of voters out. The Democratic Party is not the Democratic Leadership Council or the so-called Democratic senators and representatives.
The Democratic Party is the people of the party. If you are not satisfied with your so-called leaders, the power is in your hands to make the changes. Ignore the gas-bags, who are busy lining their pockets and running the party and country into the ground.
As Brad says, if you are dissatisfied with the media, BE THE MEDIA.
If you are dissatisfied with the Democratic leadership, BE THE DEMOCRACTIC LEADERSHIP. Start in your town, find new people, change the party name. Do whatever is necessary to change the situation to reflect what YOU WANT for your country and your lives.

"#96" (merifour responding like everyone else using comment # LOL) I feel so welcome here and feel so blessed to have found this site. Miracles happen just like at Camp Casey. I was so excited when Mr. Mattlage offered up an acre for Cindy. I thought why is no one offering her some property?.. everytime I went to her site, then along comes Fred. To #97, I agree with you. My husband lost a brother in Viet Nam. He would fight anyone that said that war was wrong (I did not know him then). I don't know exactly when he came to realize his brother died in vain, a year or two perhaps. His brother left a wife and 3 little boys. My husband's Mother never got over the loss and only a few years before she died did she acknowledge her son died for a lie. I do not know the pain of a loss of a child, sibling or parent from a war, but I see the scars of losing a loved one from a contrived war and how it affects the family.

Thanks for your sobering reminder about events.
I hope you'll stick around BB. Apart from the Bushco. lies used to link 9-11 and the invasion of Iraq, there is also the matter of "supporting the troops". I make a big distinction between supporting the troops and supporting a dreadful war.
I've said this before in various ways in various posts, so I'll keep it brief here-- Bushco. is not supporting our troops- they don't have the body armor, safe vehicles, etc. that they need on the ground, and they don't have the support they need and deserve once they come home- medical benefits, counseling etc. etc.
Brad has interviewed a lot of vets during his time in Crawford, and also previously on the weekly Brad Show. Their stories make me weep.
Paul Rieckhoff of Optruth.org Operation Truth was one of Brad's Brad Show guests back in July 2005.
Also, thanks for the contribution. Every time that I've made a $$ contribution (via PayPal) I've gotten a personal email from Brad in return. Given the challenges he and crew face getting the show up from Crawford, this might not happen right away. But, trust me, he would if he could!

#105 merifour thanks so much for sharing those experiences. As one who has lost a child (not in a war, but a loss is a loss), I can assure you that the emotional upheaval is tremendous, and, no, it never goes away.
I can very much understand how people would retreat into denial in order to survive something of that magnitude. Just like Cindy, I don't bear them any ill will (as long as they respect me in kind.) But, I really do believe that truth will out, and eventually the time comes to recognize the obvious...... the loss was for no good purpose. It's a terrible realization.
Those of us who went through the Vietnam era, protesting and working for peace, as dumbfounded to find ourselves, once again, facing the same shit.

I guess Bob, as Cindy said "this is the beginning of the peace movement". Camp Casey is a beginning, not just an end. So I suppose it is all in how you look at it. A celebration that life should go on, a beginning in peace and a union which may continue the cycle of life. It is a celebration of unity and hope.

#113 Peggy, thanks for answering my question.
I have NO interest in turning this blog into an argument. This is a celebration of peace.
However, I can't let someone blatantly make assumptions about me without even knowing me, and start issuing orders. And, yes, that's how your "cheerleading" comes across.
You don't know me at all...... even my name. Yet, you assume I've done NOTHING, and order me to find some magical way of taking over the direction of the party, or a new party. People do what they can do, and disparaging all their efforts does NOTHING to strenghten the peace effort, or anything else.
Yanno, one of these days, it would really be nice for there to be a reaching out in understanding, empathy, and acknowledgement. That is what is appealing to me about Camp Casey. It isn't one exhortation after another --it's a mass recognition of each other, what they are dealing with, and acceptance of what they can and cannot do.
As I said, I have NO interest in pursuing an argument. You can choose to hear what I'm saying or not. I will remind you there are thousands and thousands of people who gave up on the party because of the type of neglect I spoke of. You can blame them all, or look at what has changed in terms of reaching out to poor folk since the death of RFK, and the end of the Johnson era.
Peace out.

Century for War 2000 also stated that they had bad equipment from the cold war ,,and that means
They signed papers saying it was Okay to go in war with equipment that was no good old and that put our soldiers into arms way to begin with ,,,,,,,,
SO that is basically murder and war crime in itself

Will Bush stay on vacation while the hurricane destroys New Orleans?
by John in DC - 8/28/2005 02:16:00 PM
Has anyone heard any news about this? Latest I heard he was giving a press conference in Crawford where he devoted like a minute to the carnage coming our way. Let's take bets on whether he continues his vacation while our country suffers a major disaster.
Extra points for anyone who predicts, and is right, that Bush disappears for the day while hiding in a missile silo in North Dakota.
Chickenhawk Watch: Bush still on vacation while deadly hurricane approaches New Orleans
by John in DC - 8/28/2005 03:23:00 PM
Just checking in with our Hurricane Bush Vacation Watch, keeping a tab on whether Bush is going to return to Washington to deal with this historically devastating hurricane, or whether he's going to stay on vacation while a major American city faces imminent disaster.
Oh, and as someone already noted in the threads, can't you just see Bush staying on vacation while all this happens THEN touring the damage like he's some kind of concerned hero? Just like Bush, run and hide when the going gets tough then claim victory later. It remains to be seen if the media is going to ask what the hell the president is doing remaining on vacation while a major disaster is imminent.
We'll be giving regular Bush vacation updates throughout the day.

Thanks for the links to AmericaBlog.
At the same site I found this:
Press Wants to Know if Pro-War Officials Will Send Their Own Kids to War
---snippet---
The Herald tossed the question as Romney as he was honored by the Massachusetts National Guard. "No, I have not urged my own children to enlist. I don't know the status of my childrens' potentially enlisting in the Guard and Reserve," Romney said, his voice tinged with anger, the Herald reported.

It's interesting that it's hard to find exact figures, but of the articles I've found, all of them state that out of 535 members of Congress, less than 10 have kids serving in the Iraq War. I saw articles ranging from 1 to 6 at the highest. That's around 1% of Congress has kids in the Iraq War.
How many of Bush's cabinet have kids in the Iraq War? How many of Bush's actual cabinet (not their kids) were even IN a war? ZERO??? And these are the architects of the Iraq War! No wonder it's a mess!

Perhaps Cindy's bus tour will go to New Orleans to try and help out some! She might bump into Bush at his (planned, no doubt) "photo-op of phoney concern", and can take the opportunity to ask him the crucial questions (that we know we cannot honestly answer).

Hi everybody. :pouts: I sure wish I could have been here for this. I've been listening to the last 2 hrs. on my wireless headphones! But I missed "talking" with y'all.
I didn't see that anybody caught this link, but just for any Methodists who visit:

[snip] Who are we?
We are United Methodists bringing a letter of complaint against United Methodist Church members George W. Bush and Richard "Dick" Cheney for their chargeable offenses of crime, immorality, disobedience to the order and discipline of The United Methodist Church (UMC), and dissemination of doctrine contrary to the established standards of doctrine of The UMC. We are calling for accountability and repentance from these two members for their sinful behavior. This specific letter of complaint originates from two United Methodist members, Rev. Courtney Ball and Josh Steward, from the Iowa Annual Conference, but we are encouraging anyone who reads the letter below and agrees with it to sign their name to the letter as well. When the letter has had time to circulate and gain signatures, it will be presented to the various recipients listed on the letter in order that they may investigate the claims and push for a resolution to the complaint. Bush Vacation Watch Update: Thank God Katrina STILL hasn't ruined Bush's summer vacation
by John in DC - 8/28/2005 08:42:00 PM
Bush's message to those wimpy Louisianans who think they're going to ruin Bush's vacation by complaining about hurricane Katrina:
[picture of GWB flipping the bird]
Yes, according to the latest news I can find, Bush is apparently STILL remaining on vacation in Crawford while the US faces what is now being called quite possibly the biggest hurricane to strike America in our history.
Now, a smart president would cancel his summer vacation and rush to Washington to coordinate relief efforts, etc. But let's face it, Bush does what he wants (and that usually means party) and his staff NEVER contradicts him, and that includes NEVER interrupting his vacations. Did anyone really expect otherwise? Bush's own wife was under presumed attack at the White House and his staffers refused to interrupt Bush's bike ride. Do you honestly think anyone has the guts to even suggest that Bush get off his ass and return to Washington in order to show leadership?
Why isn't Bush returning to Washington to show some leadership? Funny, you won't find the mainstream media asking that question because then they won't get invited to any more barbeques.

Those evangelists do not speak for all Christians. In fact, I think the more they show of themselves the more people will see they do not represent the true message of Christianity. They are exclusionists and they aren't studying enough to know what they're supposed to be believing. Anytime FEAR is used in a religion, they have missed the point.

There is no timetable. There is no legitimate definition of victory. There is no contingency plan for mission creep. There is no clear funding program. BAGHDAD (AFP) - US forces in Baghdad shot dead a Reuters television soundman and wounded a cameraman, Iraqi police said.
"American soldiers opened fire on the team, killing the soundman and wounding the cameraman before detaining him," the police said.
The crew had arrived at the scene of an earlier rebel attack on an Iraqi police convoy in al-Adel district, west of Baghdad, which killed two and wounded one, police said.
US ambassador to
Iraq Zalmay Khalilzad said the incident was unfortunate but stopped short of apologising.
"This is unfortunate... but sometimes mistakes are made. We don't target civilians," he said when questioned by reporters covering the finalisation of Iraq's first post-Saddam Hussein constitution.

Venezuela to seek legal action against Robertson
"I announce that my government is going to take legal action in the United States ... to call for the assassination of a head of state is an act of terrorism." Chavez said in a televised speech.
The fiery left-wing critic of Bush's foreign policy who frequently charges the U.S. government is plotting to kill him, called Robertson "crazy" and a "public menace."
He said Venezuela could seek Robertson's extradition under international treaties and take its claim to the United Nations if the Bush administration did not act.
