It’s extraordinary, but I still receive Email from folks who really seem to believe that Fox is “Fair and Balanced”. They just seem like they favor Republicans, because the rest of the media is so liberal. Or so the folks tell me, many of whom also still believe Dubya is a man of his word and we may still find those WMD’s and Saddam probably was involved in 9/11 and things really are going well in Iraq, except for that goddamn liberal media.
Given the real Rightwing bias of that supposedly “Liberal” media, it’s probably a waste to even bother debunking the lie that is Fox “News”, but sometimes I just can’t help myself. After Media Matters documented FNC’s “Fair and Balanced” Convention coverage (where they gave 20% more live prime-time coverage to the Republican Convention than they did for the Democrat Convention), it seems they’re still at it with just two weeks to go before a national election. Media Matters once again has the proof:
Are those that claim to believe Fox is not biased just stupid? Or are they kidding themselves? Or do they know better, but just don’t give a fuck? Anything, after all, to win. What do you think?

Brad, why do you get so worked up over Fox? Is it because they have higher ratings than the other cable networks combined?
Thats really all TV is about nowadays – ratings. That and ad buys.
Take Fox, Rush and Hannity. Compare it to CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC, the majority of the newspaper industry. Its not even close!
Compare the Democratic 527 ads to the Republican 527 ads. Again, its not even close.
The reason Fox and Rush and Hannity and the other *conservative* media does so well is because the competition is so limited. When all the liberal media is competing against each other, they’re bound to split viewers. The conservatives have less viewers to split, and therefore have a higher average.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – Fox isn’t any more biased than the media on the left.
Nice try though Brad.
For a start, Troll, "Fox and Rush and Hannity" and NOT conservative. They are Republican. As a self-proclaimed conservative, it would be nice if you knew the difference. But apparently you don’t.
I challenge you to prove your thesis about "media on the left" being as biased as Fox. As of now, it’s just words on your part. I have *shown* you — by indisputable things like time given to each candidate — how Fox is hard biased for Bush. Feel free to demonstrate same for the so-called "Liberal" media. Don’t kill yourself though, because the fact is you *couldn’t* if you tried.
More than that, I have noticed countless times on CNN and MSNBC that when they broadcast the campaign news of the day they tune in to Bush’s inane blather but when they switch to Kerry the reporters talk over the top of Kerry’s speech to tell us what he said – we don’t hear Kerry’s speak at all. Has anyone else noticed that?

Sorry about the double click – I think I just get pissed. Saw it again today – MSNBC doing a piece on TV campaign ads with graphs showing audience reaction thru the course of the ad. Guess who got one ad played and guess who got two? Did you guess Kerry and then Bush? Very good! Whatever happened to the equal time law?
