Media Advisory
Iraq Killings and Media Indifference
Leaked video mostly ignored by corporate media
4/7/10
A leaked videotape of a 2007 U.S. helicopter attack in Baghdad that killed a dozen Iraqis was unveiled on April 5 by the website WikiLeaks. To much of the corporate media, though, it was either not worth reporting at all, or an unfortunate incident to be defended.

I live in WV and we have to deal with the likes of Blankenship all over this state, which is "open for business' according to our Governor. We are having a Public hearing concerning DRE's vs. Scanned Ballots on Apriol 14th....can you come to Grafton, WV?

I'm from WV and we have to deal with the likes of Blankenship all the time. Big business, like coal and gas take advantage of our citizens because we are "open for business" according to our Governor! We are having a Public Hearing April 14th in Grafton, WV concerning the use of DRE's ( ES & S iVotronic) vs. Scanned ballots....Can you come Brad?

Thanks, Diane. Didn't see this until now, looks like you missed posting it during the online chat.
In any case, unfortunately, won't be able to make it out there on the 14th. But drop me an email and perhaps I can find someone else whose closer by to help! And/or drop a note over at BlackBoxVoting.org where there may be more local-ish folks.
For the record, there is absolutely no way to verify that any vote, ever cast on a DRE for any candidate or initiative in any election, has ever been recorded as per the voter's intent. 100% impossible to verify. It is absolutely insane to use a DRE in any election. Period.

I love Mike's music. Just listening now to hour two.
I'm surprised there isn't a lawyer associated in some way with ACORN that would take this case on Pro Bono or near Pro Bono for an organization such as ACORN or for the Country at large. And why aren't the lawyers at the ACLU pitching in to help this case? Has that avenue been pursued?
There was a false flag attack on ACORN by James O'Keefe and his funders. ACORN then turned on themselves by firing their own, instead of fighting back while under attack.
The media and population fell for the false flag attack tactics. This happens regularly in those circumstances. Lesson learned you need to fight back with the truth on the offense, and not turn on your own. Good work Brad and thanks Bertha for coming on!!

Thanks for these archives. Appreciate the taking out of the commercials too.
All the politicians who voted for the Defund Acorn Act also fell for the false flag tactics of O'Keefe and his backers. Same with the Patriot Act. Funny how human nature works like that. Luckily by calling out the Catholic Priests, we put an end to their ability to go on molesting without incredulity.
I can't believe that ACORN had to shut down their impressive field operation. Just like I can't believe we got the Patriot Act passed against us. We need to figure this stuff out.

Acorn was performing a great service to our society. And that's why they got targeted and shut down. Something has to be done. Thanks Brad for inspiring us to action and covering this tragedy.!!
False Flag Tactics need to become ineffective in this society real soon. No more pinning Anthrax attacks on Muslims. No more outing CIA agents and making up claims for war. No more molesting children while under the cloak of purity and robes. No more James O'Keefes running around blackmailing people with Fox News and wiretapping. No more false flag tactics. DAMN IT. I don't want to live in an encroaching police state. Stand up against these A-Holes. I know you all do too, so thanks. Just feels good to rant every now and then. Peace all.

Spread the News. Be the Media. All of this will be funny until the pendulum swings and the right wing steals some seats in 2010 or whatever through Supreme Court allowed Corporate Donations or Diebold vote stealing software and other dirty tricks. I pray that doesn't happen. Though the media would have their backing if they did do it.
We need to continue to register and inform voters!!! Do all the things that suck. But someone has to do it. And enjoy it some people will of course. Support the Brad Blog and spread the news!! We aren't out of the dark yet...
Love these interviews. About time to get some real journalism out here. Larry King needs a replacement and I say we make a push for Brad taking that old bag's seat.
Sorry for the ranting, but I missed the open chat last night and just listening to these shows now.
I'm sick of the cowards in this country who fall for the tricks of the "underpants" bomber, the deranged "shoe" bomber, the "foreign" anthrax attacks.

We have worthy opponents. We need to fight them. That's for sure.

I loved the guy who recommended putting together a fund for ACORN's legal defense. REALLY, if there was an organization (besides BRADBLOG, that is!?) who deserves our pennies, it's ACORN. We are all hurting. We are all suffering-paying too much for healthcare, paying taxes for things we don't support, and when disabled, like me, there are SO FEW RESOURCES to help. Even though I am highly educated, I have no idea what to do or who to turn to. For low income people, they KNEW they could go to ACORN. It was nationwide. It had a mission. Will we just let this group go the way of the dodo bird? When no one even knows how to VOTE anymore, and our pockets are picked with unfair taxation, WITHOUT REPRESENTATION, because that's the truth of it, WHO WILL COME FOR US? I propose that someone, anyone, contact me, and we'll figure out, together, as a team, what we can do to raise the money for ACORN's best interests (have to ask them first!). Until then, PLEASE, everyone, SEND FIVE DOLLARS A MONTH TO BRAD. If a thousand of us put that kind of money out, he'd have a real budget to work with. I don't know how you keep going, Brad. BTW, if you'd put a thermometer up, I think it would help. People like to know if the goal is being reach. Set a goal, and then keep us in the know. Marcy Wheeler is doing it, and she's raised over $100,000! If SHE can do it, so can YOU! Rah!

Very grateful for the MP3s. Not only was I in a dance class for most of this, but on the way home, I couldn't even get KTLK clearly on the ride home through Laurel Canyon.
The FCC must re-regulate Michael Powell's 2002 decision to de-regulate broadband ASAP.

The philosophical basis for the attacks against ACORN can be found in iconic conservative author Ayn Rand's glorification of sociopathological traits:
http://christianschoolco...n-was-axe-murdering.html
No wonder they hate ACORN, since it involves empathy for others, something with rightist fundamentalists find abhorrent.
Ayn Rand wrote admiringly of convicted child molester and murderer William Edward Hickman:
"Other people do not exist for him, and he does not see why they should."
Ayn Rand's philosophy is singularly influential in the "conservative" movement (what exactly are these extremists conserving?).
