This looks more like free publicity for Conyers than anything else. I don't see any mischaracterizations of Conyers... only mischaracterizations of how these talking head morons think that by bringing all of this up they're somehow helping the GOP. Don't forget, on March 15, 2006, 43% of the voting public supported impeachment. And Bush's poll numbers have gone down since then. His base is even abandoning him. All this talk about Conyers and fear of impeachment / investigations may actually help the Dems.

Get the word out to those who don't know yet. Write to your local papers to inform everyone. Stop watching this crap...corporate-controlled news on ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, & FOX.
Switch to DISH network for channels 9410 LINK-TV and 9415 FSTV (Free Speech TV). OR...DirecTV channel 375 is LINK-TV. Watch Democracy NOW! news. No corporate money, no government money, no commercials. Just donations, and uncensored/unfiltered news.
If everyone does this, the MSM TV media will go under.

Just wondering what's getting more TV news time, Brad, this Conyers thing, or the Abramoff/Ney thing?
The funny thing, is that Conyers is right. So, these MSM characters are actually giving Conyers MSM TV time, even though they're bashing him. It's just that these characters don't realize people aren't falling for their crap anymore, so they're doing Conyers a service by just mentioning him in the MSM news.
Don't forget, the WORST step is the FIRST step: Full suppression with no mention.
They are on the 2nd step: Mentioning him, but discrediting him. So, he's advancing, just by being mentioned.
The 3rd step, is "Conyers Wins".

Please compare today's CNN/FOX/Democracy NOW! TV news.......CAREFULLY! Carefully note the differences in the stories.
For example, Democracy NOW! is telling us about a telecom bill that will affect net neutrality and public access funding. Remember when Powell's son tried to railroad crap by us with no public hearings? Out of sight, out of mind? Well, you can thank Democracy NOW! news for having stories like this on TV news. Do you find it funny that CNN & FOX corporate news won't tell you they're thinking of F***ing up our internet???
How about "Goss appointee tied to scandal", Basra anti-UK riots, 80 killed in Iraq, U.S. releases 5 innocent Chinese Muslims from Guatanamo??? Why aren't these stories on corporate news???
BUT.........they both have the Duke rape story, a guy shot in a parking lot (really important to all of us), Nicole Kidman still loves Tom Cruise, trampolining girl injured (probably white), lesbian's brains...personally, "injured trampolining girl" is hugely important to us all, not that they are trying to keep out of the news that corporate America is now trying to take control over the internet.

I haven't had cable T.V. in almost a year and I don't miss it one iota. For American news, I record the Democracy Now! daily stream and watch it on my brand new Creative Zen: M mobile video player while I go for my evening walk.
A Democracy Now! show is 100 times more in-depth and meaningful to the lives of Americans than a month's worth of network news. For me --- I watch it to find out the truth (albeit with a somewhat liberal bias with respect to what stories they cover).
Yesterday, I found out that the internet, as we know it, may be on its death-bed. Do we want these corporate news shows taking over the internet? Hell, no! If the internet goes the way of television --- there is no hope, folks. The American dream will be DEAD.
DEAD.
DEAD.
DEAD.
Please call your cogress members and demand that internet neutrality be protected.

This portion of a quote on the"Democracy Now" show mentioned above by Robert McChesney made my heart sing concerning the net neutrality bill because the media ownership explosion he's talking about was a truly bipartisan effort of the masses, and actually forced congress to LISTEN for a change:
"...we've seen a massive explosion really, even unlike the media ownership explosion three years ago. Already 600,000 people have written or contacted Congress, raising hell about the idea of getting rid of net neutrality..."
This is like people saying "Get your damn dirty paws off my internet". This really may be a tipping point. (Of course if you haven't written your congressman, DO SO)!

I don't know, Big Dan. The one about lesbians' brains sounds interesting.
Seriously, you speak the truth. I turned off my tv in 1985, and left it off. Not all of mainstream media is awful, though. The magazines Atlantic, Harpers, and Mother Jones are very good for longish articles. The Week is good for an overall quick look at what's going on here and abroad.
That having been said, however, the internet is simply irreplaceable. Not even the best magazines satisfactorily cover the stolen elections, the 9/11 conspiracies, and the financial/economic lies told to us by the Federal government.
But the internet must be worrying The Powers That Be. Worrisome enough that we get too much truth online, but now the blogs and online news services are cutting into the commercial profitability of mainstream media. Net neutrality and censorship are going to be huge issues as events unfold.

Conyers won't get an answer to all the letters he has written to the president and others of this regime until January of '07 ...
The dorks could have answered and avoided what they deserve, but chose instead to provoke the American public's wrath, and Conyers is simply doing his oversight duties on behalf of the public.
The MSM dorks have dissed him, the regime has dissed him too, because they are one and the same.
The MSM is being impeached by the blogs and for good reason, and if the regime is impeached it will also be for good reason.

Flip Flop Bushit U.S. voting/vote counting system produces Bushit results.
1. GENOCIDE didn't make it? Wassup with that?
2. Immediate study anc evaluate scientific evidence of the world environment -melting arctic etc.. and the U.S. polution/carbon dioxide emission vs. total world emissions and their effects!!!
3.Types of clean energy being created -solar panels on new homes, giant propellers.
4. Stop gutting of the Federal Environmental Species Protection Act and the animals being delisted: Isolated population of Yellowston brown bears need to be connected to other populations by a wildlands corridor up through Canada. When grizzlies are healthy, all other species are too.
5. Send U.S. troops to liberate Dafar Africa to start making a world leader again.
6. The Bushit administration has accelerated changing climates and the notion of an apocolypse by these lying murderers orchestrating the attack on the people of Iraq.
7. The total involvement of the government in 9/11 events must be INVESTIGATED!
8. The Bush administration must be held accountable for their actions.

Apologies...seems like my posts lately are frequently off-topic, as are these stories, from PublicCitizen & The Tennessean:
http://www.citizen.org/p...room/release.cfm?ID=2197
"Frist and Hastert Let Vaccine Industry Write Its Own Multi-Billion Dollar Giveaway"
"Vaccine makers helped write Frist-backed shield law
E-mails reveal private meetings"
"Last December, Senate Majority Leader Bill First (R-TN) and House Speaker Dennis Hastert inserted a provision in the Defense Appropriations bill that granted vaccine manufactures near-total immunity for injuries or deaths (even in cases of “gross negligence”) caused by their drugs during a viral pandemic, such as an outbreak of the avian flu. The legislation was “worth billions of dollars” to a small group of drug makers.
The provision was inserted in the dead of the night, after House and Senate conferees had agreed the provision would not be included in the bill. According to Roll Call, the brazen move was completely unprecedented...
...E-mails and documents written by a trade group for the vaccine-makers show the organization met privately with Frist’s staff and the White House..."

A. LAUGH derisively at the UTTER ABSURDITY of the GOP! Yes, LAUGH. EXPOSE the IDIOCY of their positions!
The absolute GALL of them to talk about the "threat" of gay marriage, or FLAG-BURNING, of all things!!
These are LUDICROUS & should be loudly derided as such!!!
THIS is their platform despite the US being the only developed country to NOT have universal healthcare. Despite the US dragging its filthy-rich feet on genocide in Darfur. Despite OBSCENE war-profiteering. Despite STAGGERING, DOCUMENTED incompetence.
B.Endlessly repeat the phrase "NOT EVEN THE PRESIDENT IS ABOVE THE LAW!"
and PLEASE for God's sake dig out those quotes & clips from 1998 when THESE SAME BOZOS were piously intoning this about Clinton every damn day!
This should be said NON-STOP! People NEED to be reminded!
C. Endlessly repeat the phrase "They have NOT made us SAFE!!"
How DARE they even USE the word 'SAFE?!' We are NOT safe being in debt up to our eyeballs to China!!
We are NOT safe if we only inspect FIVE percent of goods entering our ports!
D. Quit apologizing about & backing away from impeachment, goddammit!! STOP BEING DEFENSIVE FOR HAVING THE "TEMERITY" to actually want to HOLD A MAN ACCOUNTABLE TO THE GODDAMN LAW!!!
IMPEACHMENT IS A PART OF OUR LEGAL SYSTEM!! JESUS God, why can't they get it through their heads that if the bloody country didn't FALL APART during an insane impeachment over a blow job, it would certainly survive the impeachment of a president who has called the constitution "A GODDAMNED PIECE OF PAPER!" and has claimed the right to break 750 laws proving that he MEANS it!!

LBD:"The GOP is going after Conyers (and Rangel) to rally their racist constituency"
Not likely. The Republicans are covering their bets. They realize it is likely that they will lose the House in November. Conyers has probably signalled that he will not drag his feet and will launch impeachment hearings immediately. With two years before the end of Bush's term, they will not be able to stall him long enough before bringing any proceedings to a full House vote. Or, to subpoena really damaging evidence. So they need to discredit him enough to keep him from being the next chairman of the Judiciary Comm.
They are not really counting on these attacks to energize their voter base. They may get a few votes but not enough to make a difference. They cannot afford to wait to challenge him closer to November, things will get more unpredictable if Bush's numbers continue to slide and their influence weakens.
The plan may be to see if they can get someone else for the chairmanship should they lose in November. Someone that might drag their feet long enough so that the 2008 election cycle gets into full swing. Then impeachment becomes moot.

Hell, I don't know, but I'm just trying to figure this out.
Maybe Feingold called only for censure, just to embarrass the Republicans by exposing their cowardice to even hold Bush accountable for that lesser charge.
It’s the Republicans who have to bring impeachment proceedings and knowing their character, they would probably rather end life on earth as opposed to being scolded into it by Democrats. The thing that has been killing me is that SOLDIERS ARE DYING EVERY DAY while strategy slowly moves forward.
The first time Howard Dean was asked if the Democrats intended to impeach Bush providing they got control of congress I realized instantly that he had to say no. Why? Because if he had said yes, a ~~~TEMPER TANTRUM~~~ would have rippled through ~~~SPACE AND TIME~~~!

Does everyone know that the liklihood of this Avian bird flu mutating so that it passes from human to human & a worldwide pandemic occuring is very high?
Did you know that the former head of our country's health dept resigned over a year ago because Bush would not order the proper doses of Tamiflu needed to protect us? It was not widely reported, of course.
Bush wanted the money for his homeland security efforts (translation=his cronies get the $) instead of spending it to protect us against avian flu.
I believe it was France, Sweden & some others put in their orders--there is only one place that manufactures & sells Tamiflu & it's in Switzerland. They are totally booked up with orders & we cannot get any from them now. That is Bush's fault. (There is enough Tamiflu in our country for the elite to get their dose--that's the idea I believe, that the rest of us can go without )
We should have ordered it when our experts told us to--now it is too late to get any.
You never hear that on the news when they speak of this bird flu.
HELL NO.
They never say we aren't prepared because of Bush--even though it's true.
Instead, they pretend we must develop a specific vaccine--which WOULD help a great deal if there was one==but for now, if we had enough Tamiflu for everyone to get a dose, it would give us protection against most deaths from this bird flu---IF WE HAD ANY.
We weren't allowed to order it when the time was right--that's why the head of the health dept resigned. He said so when he resigned.
They also slipped a "rider" into the Patriot Act at the last minute which protects drug companies from prosecution for putting too much mercury (as a preservative) in children's immunizations--causing an epidemic of autism in our country.
The government ( of course) said the autism was NOT caused by the mercury used a a preservative in the immunizations--but studies show it was.
The government agreed to take the mercury OUT of the childrens' immunizations--not because it causes autism, mind you, but as a "precaution".
HOWEVER, they are going to PHASE the mercury out, instead of taking it out all at once!
They have some official reason for this, but THE REAL REASON is because if they remove the mercury all at once---& the incidence of autism goes down dramatically--iit would prove the autism was caused by the mercury---& could be used in a court of law to PROVE the autism WAS caused by the mercury!
Thus leaving them open to lawsuits.
If they phase it out, they can't point to the low incidence of autism & say it was from the only change made--the elimination of the mercury!
I ask you---Is that not low?
Continuing to harm little babies & toddlers because you don't want to get sued?
I swear to you all right now, if my children die from this coming bird flu---there will be no reason for me to adhere to the law anymore---I'll find a way to give that little maggot what he has coming.
At least 4 other European countries put in their orders for enough Tamiflu to protect their entire populations long ago.
We failed to do this & now we have only a small amount--just enough for the elite to get theirs.

The avian bird flu is the second political pandemic to hit the world.
The first was the republican dictatorship.
The danger of avian bird flu can be directly related to how wreckless and unstable this regime becomes at the prospects of loosing the November election.
Flasks and vials of it are in the biolabs of the Army - (watch the movie OUTBREAK, starring Al Pacino).
So keep you eyes on the polls and the voting machines. If the machines fail the contrived pandemic will be one possible disaster.
The terrorism threat here in the US is 99% phoney. Did any of you see the news item on CNN today that revisited the case of a man who someone had locked a bomb around his neck and back, and order him to rob a bank or they would blow him up?
He was cornered and the bomb went off. Now if terrorists operating against our powerful military can bring down our aircraft, our soldiers, and the Iraqi oil pipelines, why can't they:
1) put a bomb like that on someone and order them to go to a chemical plant, a nuclear power facility, an airport, at times when they are not guarded?
60 minutes proved years ago that getting next to chemical plants (where millions of people would die if a major accident happened) is so easy it is pathetic.
The bird flu pandemic is a scare tactic that may or may not be used. Depends on several factors.
The turd blossom pandemic is a far greater threat to the US and the world.

No, you're wrong.
I've been following this for over a year & the threat of this bird flu mutating into a flu that passes from human to human is very real.
Our microbiology experts have been begging the Administration to listen to them for a very long time, but in vain. Not just government doctors but private doctors as well.
Why do we have government experts if we ignore their advice?
Ask a doctor.
THEY all have their supply of Tamiflu at the ready for themselves & their families.
The damn MSM do not report that it is all Bush's fault that we don't have a Tamiflu shot for every American--but it is.

Drifting off topic -
Here is an article regarding Tamiflu which contradicts the theory that it is helpfull. It also points out that Rummy stands to profit from the hype to buy it.
The CDC Report on Avian Flu shows that currently it is only transmitted to humans by infected birds or contamination from them.
That's not to say it can't mutate into something worse. The fact that it can infect pigs is particularily worriesome since the next step in mutating flu viruses after pigs is often humans.
Of course there is a TV movie coming out to scare us all!

I've read the official governmnet CDC site. It's CYA time for the government.
I've read what the real experts have been saying all along. That's why I'm concerned.
