The democratic party has better taste. After all, Ann Coulter and Rush Limball have been their spokesfolk. Bush the prez. Hard to believe the rich favor this last sad group. I was wondering how you know you have the flu? (hypothetical question not directed only at Brad)
I mean how would you really know? Did someone look at it under a microscope? Recognize it? Classify it? Take a picture and show you it? Personally I slam gobs of Oil Of Oregano, which is supposed to kill virus’s, But do I actually KNOW that? Have I seen it? Nope. Why don’t we see it? Why isn’t it tested and shown? Why do we trust what anyone say’s about flu? Should you be taking pharmaceutical grade Echinacea or is 3000MG of Vitamin C good enough? And why is it Vitamin C is only 500MG now? Could it be someone screwing with the CODEX?
One thing for sure is you don’t need as many smokes when you have the flu. If your doing 20 a day probably 5 is all you really can stand. Maybe 10.
I had the flu once, or so I was told, at the time I was in the Snow eating USAF Base Chow hall food, it got worse, turned to pneumonia, I could barely breath, laid up for more than a month. Fluids in the lungs.
Weird.
Since then, I have not got one vaccination and I rarely ever get sick for more than few days. I call it a cold. But I don’t really know what it is, I think it’s part stress, part bad nutrition. So why again did the CODEX cut the Vitamin C to 500MG tablets? Certainly can’t be profit motivated. I would happily buy 1000 tablets of 3000MG as 500 Tablets of 500MG, have you ever tried to take 3000MG of C daily? It’s rough.
One thing’s for sure though..
Ain’t nothing like feeling bad, to make you appreciate feeling good.

Oh and did I mention, everyone that I know (I mean everyone) that get’s flu shots get’s sick more frequently than I do, and I still smoke 20 a day.
Vitamin C still comes in 1000MG, Phil. I just bought some the other day. The government RDA is stupidly lower than that, but every naturopath I have known or read says 3000MG a day, spread out over the day since it’s water soluble and works out of your system quickly. Honestly, they have proven that Vitamin C is practically God, so… I know you’re only talking with Brad there, but I thought I should mention it.
My mother always has maintained that vitamin C in pill format is basically useless as the heat from forming the pill causes the molecules to change in a negative manner, much as heating vegetables effectively kills most of the good vitamins and minerals.
For multiple benefits, eat lots of fresh fruit and unheated vegetables. At least one cannot, then, be accused of being full of it. 🙂

Not around here it, it comes in 500MG only.
And try eating 6 of those tabs! They are truly hard to swallow the shape is horrible, the taste is horrible.
(The last bottle I bought was 1000MG) You can’t find those HERE anymore. I can find them ONLINE only. TO be honest I rather have one pill each be 3000MG. Than 3 or 6 pills. I already take other pills, and this is very annoying.
And no I was talking to everyone. OR anyone that takes food supplements.

There’s something to be said for that. I wouldn’t say all the “life force” is gone, but surely most of it. On the other hand, not everyone can get their hands on fresh oranges, cuties, kiwi’s.
It’s also a good reason to unplug your microwave, and not ever use it again. If you knew what those actually do, you would never use it again. And you would insist that your food not be heated in one.
The other thing going on is irradiation of food.

Hey Phil, too much of something in your system at once can fry stuff, seriously. Our bodies are held in a very delicate balance. Like I said earlier, too much of even a good thing can actually be harmful. Simple, basic, organic moderation keeps the balance best!
Phil, that was in regards to the amounts of C you are proposing. When getting vitamins and essential minerals straight from our food is best as I think you are later suggesting. An I TOTALLY AGREE about microwaves…my kid has been pissed at me for years for not using them…free radicals man. They attack unknowing molecules in our bodies, fucking up METABOLISM!

You have to do divided doses to keep your blood levels of vitamin C up, Phil. Whatever blood level you’re looking for. It flushes out in your pee really quickly. I will only buy it in the capsule form because it’s easier to swallow, doesn’t taste awful and works better. I tried Linus’s megadose thing for colds and it worked great, but most people don’t know the meaning of megadose, or don’t realize that whatever amount washes out of your system in a few hours. It is seriously good for your heart to have plenty of vitamin C circulating all the time. Works better than the vaunted baby aspirin and glass of wine….
So doing all three I suppose is triple plus good heart healthy. 😛
