Wow...I knew there was a reason I called on Cannon for guest blogging around here!
First time I've been able to check in in three days...and it looks like things are going swimmingly! Carry on, boys!

Good symbolics ... noone anywhere is directly addressing the issues in sound english ... because the reality is just too damn preposterous.
Hence we wax poetical to save our souls ... or emotions ... or something ... but the poetry of one is the weapon of another.
I notice some people are grabbing "iron", grabbing "heat", grabbing "weight", or "packing". Those who feel "happiness is a warm gun" will understand what I mean ... and others who know street talk will too.
Cannon has loaded up his pen, which some folk feel is more powerful than the sword, and others feel is a waste of frigging time, and yet others have no clue about.
As for me ... I recommend that you buy beer stock.

Nicely done. Could be sung to the old Gilbert and Sullivan song, 'Major General', as well!

Republicans using the 'I' word, the fury is starting to come unglued
Represenative Ron Paul speaks in a delegation of R's about the lies of Iraq and letting the levees break
While Tom Delay and Hastert desperately try to shut all hearings down, the Congress is beginning to come unglued. Jim Leech, Ron Paul, Dan Lungren, Jon Kyl, Lamar Smith, Jack Kingston, John Akin, Heather Wilson, Mark Kirk and John Duncan are all breaking away from the GOP mafia and discussing impeachment.
Meanwhile, democrats like Joe Lieberman are thinking of ways to cover it up. So be advised, the discussion is happening. The only way to fully engage this conversation and put these maniacs on trial is to get rid of Delay. He has committed crimes and therefore has no business in his current job position and once he resigns or is replaced all bets are off. Dennis Hastert is also a crook. Think america, the radio should be pounding Hastert until he recuses himself for accepting bribes.
This is a WAR, Howard Dean had it correct its time for the LEFT to come fully unglued. Everyone needs to be talking out loud bluntly about getting rid of these thugs, like Dean does every day. Then things will get done.

Oh, guys...I'm sorry...that was brilliant...dark & funny & brilliant & horrible & true... & I just can't laugh.
I'm listening to Mike Malloy. He just read a message from someone in Norway, who is sick & appalled & outraged enough to say he has no sympathy left for the Americans who let this genocide happen. Not just bush & his hideous cronies but the democrats who did & said nothing, the people who voted for bush, the people who refused to educate themselves about what was happening. And I can't blame him. I can't blame him.
I love you guys & all you do. You're my heroes. I can't even express how sick I am of all of it, of them, their lies, their spin, their murderous regime of death.
We HAVE to keep demanding, over & over & over & over, that congress MUST demand their RESIGNATIONS or IMPEACH them.

Today, Dubyah's Mommy was busy adding fuel to the class warfare fire. You won't believe what she had to say about the evacuees: Editor Article

(Having trouble with link here's the text):
NEW YORK Accompanying her husband, former President George
H.W.Bush, on a tour of hurricane relief centers in
Houston, Barbara Bush said today, referring to the
poor who had lost everything back home and evacuated, "This is working very well for them."
The former First Lady's remarks were aired this
evening on American Public Media's "Marketplace"
program.
She was part of a group in Houston today at the
Astrodome that included her husband and former
President Bill Clinton, who were chosen by her son,
the current president, to head fundraising efforts for
the recovery. Sen. Hilary Clinton and Sen. Barack
Obama were also present.
In a segment at the top of the show on the surge of
evacuees to the Texas city, Barbara Bush said: "Almost
everyone I’ve talked to says we're going to move to
Houston."
Then she added: "What I’m hearing which is sort of
scary is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is
so overwhelmed by the hospitality.
"And so many of the people in the arena here, you
know, were underprivileged anyway, so this--this (she
chuckles slightly) is working very well for them."

It looks like Michael Brown is a good candidate for the Medal of Freedom.
As we all know, incompetence is ALWAYS rewarded in the Bush Administration.

Miss Laura has proven one thing ... as society in houston degenerates, it is more and more difficult to detect the onset of mental illness.
After all, mental illness can be defined as some degree of departure from the "norm".
So as the "norm" sinks lower and lower, so does the concept and detection of mental illness.

I agree, it's Dark Homor, of which I am a huge fan.
I think people with this talent, are very sensitive and deep, and use it as a defense, sort of.
The mind is a very fragile thing, and despair can be expressed in so many ways
My mother and her people, survived the 1928 Okeechobee Hurricane. Thousands of poor farmers drowned, and my grandfather help load the bodies onto carts. They were buried in a mass grave.
Some of my mothers playmates went mad, never recovered.

Just read on Raw Story - Chertof announces resignation of Michael Brown as of today.
Brown says "press made him the scapegoat " but the president didn't".

No way is it enough.
Michael Brown Fired from NOLA position, being pressured to resign from FEMA.
Who appointed the incompetence to begin with? BUSH & CHENEY!!!!!!
Resign, they must all do the only right thing and resign!!! Billions gutted from the state Levee system to help pay for Oil wars in Iraq!
How the hell could these freaks sit by and watch Chertoff turn the rescue operation into detention camps, only by direct malice. They must be removed. IMPEACHMENT!!!!

Thanks for the link to the msnbc poll. I voted!
I also read through some of their disclaimers, etc., and discovered The Harris Poll online.
Their question of the week is:
Who should assume the greatest amount of responsibility for the inadequate response to the Hurricane Katrina disaster?
The poll is easy to use- no registration, etc. I voted, and then saw the poll results so far.
Encourage all to do same.
It also looks like it is possible to register to become a regular "pollee", but I haven't checked this out fully.

Valley Girl,
Should spread this poll everywhere. Now we know why Bush is seen as the most responsible, he callously ignored their cries for help and appointed an ignorant man called Mike Brown to head FEMA thinking they could handle it without lifting a finger.
The ultimate delusionary bastard. Chertoff should also turn in his papers, he has near no sympathy for the black poor people.

Hi Doug, #21
Am I correct in assuming that you voted?
I did, and I was actually surprized to see that my vote was right up there at the top!!! (Bush should take responsibility)
I have thinking about how widely to spread the info about the HP question of the week, and also info about joining HP. I haven't joined yet, kinda got distracted by other things. However, as we have a lot of trolls on board from time to time, I thought maybe I would only report back to CERTAIN people. Yeah, I'm trying to spin it!!! So, if you or others from BB get an email from VG with my report about joining the Harris Poll, I hope you won't take it as "spam".

#11 Nana, that is so sad about your family. How the poor ALWAYS suffer the most!... and now, truly adding insult to injury, they're blamed for their misery.
I'm working on my 'freeway blogger' sign & found a perfect spot for it, visible from I-95. Will post a picture when I get it up there.

Thanks for the link to the Harris poll; one question: Do you have to be Javascript-enabled to vote in it? I ask because I clicked on the "Vote now" button and it didn't go to the next page, it just sat there. Anybody else have this happen?

Nana,
I settled on:
THIS WAS GENOCIDE. IMPEACH THEM!
with hopefully a number of other signs just saying IMPEACH!
I was going to write:
DEMAND THEY RESIGN OR IMPEACH THEM...GENOCIDE IS AN IMPEACHABLE OFFENSE.
but that was just a BIT long!

btw, earlier I said I wasn't quite ready to laugh at Joseph Cannon's new words to The Major General song...I'm still not; but it DOES so perfectly capture the situation that---in keeping with the spirit of our mind-bogglingly Kafkaesque, evil, twisted government---I want to propose that we adopt it as our NEW NATIONAL ANTHEM.
gotta go paint signs.

Sorry to be so slow-- I just saw your question re: the Harris poll. Hope you can get it to work.
I'm not expert enough to answer with authority. However, I use Firefox 1.0.5 Browser (much faster than IE and a free download) and I do have both Java and Java Script enabled.
To try to test the question, I'd have to turn them off, and then go back and vote in the poll again... not sure if they'd let me...

Oh, no problem. I wouldn't want you to undo the Java Script thingie on account of me, the poll will probably be over soon anyway if it isn't already. But thanks for responding though.
