I have read that Gary Trudeau’s temporary "retirement" was caused by the despair he felt when he realized he would never be as good as Bill Keane.
I’ve heard that something similar happend to Clapton when he first heard Hendrix.
If only Dubya were capable of such an epiphany.

A search for "family circus" brings up other examples of these gloriously screwed up reviews. The reviews are, actually, much more interesting than these insipid cartoons could ever be.
If all those reviewers worked together to write a book…I’d buy that book.
