Well, as we now know Carter's ratings were in some part due to the machinations of Bush Sr. (arms for hostages October surprise), so what this means is the public really really dislikes anything a Bush does, whether that Bush is currently president or not.
You may ask, why are they president then?
The answer is simply that the Republican electorate has been badly misinformed --- lied to in fact.
Can it happen again?
Probably. The Republican electorate doesn't seem too bright. They're easily misled.

WOW! 28%! That's your approval rating when you steal an election. Maybe you should steal the polls, too! Here's a round of applause for your 28% approval rating:
clap
clap
clap
clap
clap
clap
Sean Hannity, who has a $125 million dollar contract, but is "one of the little people", will spin this on Monday. "Wow! That's a really high rating...considering how much he sucks. I thought it would be more near ZERO! He's an amazing guy!"
Guiliani is just quoted as saying that Bush is "a great president". So, Rudy, when are you going to resign from the race, after saying that?
I guess they're cooking up some "false flag terrorist" action, to try to bring his ratings back up into the 30's...

...and WHO are the 28%? Brad, can you interview one of these people, seriously, can you? Please?
Ask them to list the reasons why they approve of him. "We haven't had a terrorist attack since 9/11." Then, Brad, you can inform them that Bush was IN FACT the president ON 9/11, and should have resigned in shame for not keeping us safe, instead of spinning his next election camaign into "the security president". Only a Republican who let 3,000 people get killed on his watch, could become "the security president" for the next election!

PASTE THIS PAGE IN YOUR BROWSER
And you may need to do this from Explorer instead of Firefox or other browsers, and I'm not sure it will work even then because I only have dial-up and that may be why it's not working for me.
OR
Once again the media is censoring something they don't want you to see. If it doesn't work today come back and try later because this is a must see!
A little while ago Hannity was contacting Rocky Anderson, (The mayor of Salt Lake who has been the only public official calling for the impeachment of Bush), to come on his television show. They chickened out and then tried to blame Rocky more then once for backing out when, in actuality, it was Fox news.
A caller to Hannitys radio show persuaded Sean to schedule a debate with anderson in Salt Lake City and Hannity tried to get out of that repeatedly, by saying Anderson had backed out, but the E-mails between the two parties proved it was Hannity that was backing out and lying. Fox and KSL, the local Hanntiy outlet wanted full control of the rights and Anderson refused.
Anyway, the debate actually happened last night. In order for it to take place, the local Fox news outlet reported that Hannity required this notice be printed on the ticket:
"No right to turn footage into a film without approval of both parties."
To my amazement the local Fox outlet broadcast the entire debate live in it's entirety without ads. Rocky makes a perfect case for impeachment, but the wingnuts can't contain themselves and boo him all the way through his presentation. When he's done and the pro Rocky people try to give him a standing ovation, Hannity runs out on the stage and tries to steal his applause resulting in boos from the liberals who seemed to be outnumbered by about two thirds. I was there, and this it was absolutely wild. Hannity kept looking at his watch and seemed ready to leave in a hurry if he had to.
Hannity, unable to make a case against impeachment used every trick in the book. He used a dead soldiers family as a prop, accused the inflamed liberals who were unruly of being intoxicated, and said Anderson had made debate in America "Toxic", (take a deep breath and relax). He tried to say Anderson was partisan and a Kerry supporter and said the Democrats who voted for the war should be impeached. Anderson pulled the rug out from under him by saying he also thought the Democrats should be held accountable and he voted for Nader.
To make a long story short, it was a terrible night for Hannity and when it was over, the two men shook hands with their microphones still on and Anderson invited him back for a debate about Global Warming. Hannity said "You've got to be kidding!"
You've just got to see this! Please let me know if you can see the video.

“Probably. The Republican electorate doesn't seem too bright. They're easily misled.”
Here is an example of how easily they can be Totally misled:
Dear Mr. Young :
Thank you for taking the time to contact me concerning your views regarding President Bush.
Currently, there is no legislation pending before either the House or Senate that would begin impeachment proceedings.
While I do not always agree with President Bush on every issue, I sincerely believe he is an honest and good man with strong convictions and a determination to do what is in the best interests of our country and all Americans.
Thank you once again for contacting me. I value your advice. If I may be of further assistance to you in the future, please do not hesitate to contact me again.
Sincerely,
Norm Coleman

Yes, in addition to Big Dan #2 pointing out that Guliani said preznit blush was "a great president", the republicans really like the Iraq war.
But the people really don't like the Iraq war and really don't like the liar in chief.
Fine, but what gets me is why the republicans can not figure out why the president is so low and why they tail in the polls.
I think they will also find it hard to realize they will be the minority party for a long time.

i imagine a good portion of the 28% are:
a. only barely aware of politics (would rather watch nascar or go shopping),
b. against abortion at all costs,
c. for killing brown people (in their eyes, anyone with darker skin is a terrorist),
d. respects people who use violence to solve their problems.
and a smaller percentage are filthy rich (and getting filthier) and happy things are going more or less according to plan.

Does BushCo even need to listen or care if the elections are always going to be fixed?
I think I've changed my mind about impeachment. I know that sounds sadistic but...The longer Congress investigates, one-by-one, the crimes of this administration, the longer it will take for anyone to forget it. If we impeach, there would be immediate closure and one or two lone fall guys (Bush/Cheney). Think of it like pulling up a garden weed - cutting off the leaves at the top still leaves those nasty roots. And the nasty roots send up new leaves again and again.

There are 2 reasons why this Treasonous bastard has anything over low single digit poll ratings.
Actually the same reasons are why this Treasonous POS was even allowed to steal 2 elections in the first place. He shouldn't even have a poll rating because he is illegitimate, everything this cretin has done is based entirely on lies and should be erased off the record books.
1. There is approx. a 25-30% percentage of the populace that are delusional psychotics that have no clue at all what is going on, are easily fooled by any blatant lie because they have "faith" in the church of bush and no amount of irrefutable evidence against this nut bag is ever going to make any difference to these people they are unreachable & irrational.
2. The mainstream media is 99.8% complicit in covering up the war crimes & treason because they are war profiteers. Faux Noise is flat out lying every single day and the rest of the media either parrots these lies or simply ignores, distorts & omits the facts.
This is not ever going to change until the "We the People" stand up and utterly destroy Faux Noise and turn to the rest of the Media and say you got 24 hours to start singing the truth or you're next.
We must take back our media and then diversify them back to at least 50+ different owners and bring back the Fairness Doctrine.
Until this happens this country will remain a Neofascist Police State with little to no hope for long term survival as the rest of the planet is not going to put up with this shit forever.

That's the correct video of Rocky Anderson making mince meat of Hannity!
Thanks!
It's funny. That TV website that promised to have the entire debate was one of the first phone-computer news services in the nation, (if not the first). I guess they just can't figure out how to get the thing working. I called them, and they gave me a run around. I hate our media!

There may still be some moderate republicans. There is a report that they are changing to support Obama (Chris Matthews had a freudian slip and called him "Osama"):
DISILLUSIONED supporters of President George W Bush are defecting to Barack Obama, the Democratic senator for Illinois, as the White House candidate with the best chance of uniting a divided nation.
(Sunday Times UK). I guess how many remains to be seen.
The more sane republicans that regain consciousness the better. After all, they are americans. (Not saying I will vote for Obama ... remains to be seen).

SURVEY METHODOLOGY
Results are based on telephone interviews with 1,001 adults, 18 and older, conducted May 2-3, 2007. Results are weighted so that the sample demographics match Census Current Population Survey parameters for gender, age, education, race, region, and population density. The overall margin of sampling error is plus or minus 4 percentage points for results based on 1,001 adults and 831 registered voters. Results based on smaller subgroups are subject to larger margins of sampling error. The margin of error is plus/minus 7 percentage points for results based on 422 registered Democrats and Dem. leaners and plus/minus 8 percentage points for results based on 324 registered Republicans and Rep. leaners. In addition to sampling error, the practical difficulties of conducting surveys can also introduce error or bias to poll results.

Here's a place where you can see the dial-up and broadband version of the Rocky vs Hannity debate about the impeachment of George w. Bush.
You may need to install to version 7.1.6 of Quicktime which is free.

Bush said early on he didn't care about ratings and hardly gave them notice.
Just another crazy, mixed-up Bush attitude along the lines of "I don't care about history. I'll be dead, it doesn't matter."
This idiot simply REFUSES to plan for any kind of future for anyone in America.
His horrible rating reflects a sweeping Dem victory in 2008.
But of course, he's not seeing THAT either.
