They do the same thing to on the job injured workers also,
If you get a permanent debilitating injury, they minimize it by hiding your records and lock you out of the system...believe me, I know

i sat in the car in the driveway, absorbed, listening to the entire NPR report; it's well worth it. very compelling. heartbreaking, really.
there will be many, many more of the same in the years to come, as the media shifts from reporting on the war over there and starts covering the war's aftermath over here, when the majority of troops come home.
this does not bode well... the VA already has a dismal reputation for being understaffed, under-funded, poorly run. once again, it appears we will not be prepared to deliver on even a minimal level of support. the VA is going to need decades of increased funding, starting yesterday, to address the needs of our newest generation of veterans.
the ghosts of Viet Nam....

That's God Law,
ask Rev. Falwell and Rev. Robertson et al,
It is survival of the very fittest, by God's design.
If you can't cope or survive God has deemed you inferior goods. In the world economy your care and physical/mental rehabilitation is deemed too costly so you are cast into the gutter. A torrential downpour from (God's home) the heavens with hopefully wash you down the nearest storm drain or sewer. The best you can hope - is to become the wandering homeless who takes residence behind a trash dumpster. Republican christo-fascists if they can't get rich off your labors or somehow otherwise exploit you - Nazi's want nothing to do with ya. The culture of life - unless you need some attention or accommodation. They will then consider that a pathetic sob story - with the expectation that you just get lost and die as swiftly as possible. Do not impede, but only contribute to the advancement of capitalism and materialism, or get the hell out of the way.

This is nothing new. It's an American tradition to use the soldiers and then throw them away.
Just another form of consumerism.
YOU'RE A GREAT AMERICAN SEAN! (patriotic and christian crusade music followed by "there will always be poor" ballads).
America pukes up a part of it's soul for 3 hours a day and one hour at night.

Obviously there has been a serious lack of mental health care for the civilian leadership too.
They are insane.
So now the civilian leadership, the regime, is spreading its madness around the world and to the troops as well.
Thanks for sharing bozos.

We send our young people away to fight for big corporations...train them to kill.. and then bring them home with no safety net in the community. In the piedmont of N.C. Raleigh Durham area...a huge state pschiatric hospital is closing...going to treat on an out patient basis. I see crime rising exponentially.

============
GHWB - Why the march to Baghdad and over throw of Saddam Hussein was not considered advisable,
"Trying to eliminate Saddam...would have incurred incalculable human and political costs. Apprehending him was probably impossible.... We would have been forced to occupy Baghdad and, in effect, rule Iraq.... there was no viable "exit strategy" we could see, violating another of our principles. Furthermore, we had been consciously trying to set a pattern for handling aggression in the post-Cold War world. Going in and occupying Iraq, thus unilaterally exceeding the United Nations' mandate, would have destroyed the precedent of international response to aggression that we hoped to establish. Had we gone the invasion route, the United States could conceivably still be an occupying power in a bitterly hostile land."
(George H. W. Bush, September 1998)

Some of us remember that giving your word and loyalty was practiced. How did we get so turned around that even a written contract, as the military has, means nothing?
Those of us remembering Vietnam, leaving loved ones there, thought a lesson had been learned. But our representatives in government turned their backs and signed away our children's future.
But I have to ask did those of us opposing the Iraq invasion shout loud enough? Maybe not.

News came out today that us taxpayers are paying for 100,000 government subcontractor personnel over there. (I suppose because there aren't enough volunteers?) Many are doing the jobs that our military guys would otherwise do. I wonder what their pay scales are compared to our military guys and I wonder what their health (including mental health) benefits are compared to our military guys...bet there's a huge difference.

What a disturbing read that was. My heart bleeds for the family who lost their son and had to deal with that for months only to find that they weren't told the truth initially. It is unconscionable for the military to cover up the truth in the first place but to try to place the blame on some other country is pure evil.
Now there's a grieving father who is wondering if the body they buried is actually their son..!!
As much as it has brought further heartbreak to the family, many thanks to the person who had the decency to blow the whistle on this injustice and the people involved in the coverup should be brought up on charges.
This HAS to stop..!!
The families of these heroes deserve the truth and nothing less.

Let me tell you what I hate..!!
I hate your commander in chief for his cavalier 'don't give a damn' attitude about this war he started illegally and the people who are hurting the most....the soldiers and the everyday Iraqi citizen.
I hate him also, as the only thing he seems interested in is, that he doesn't end up with egg on his face.
I hate him for taking your Constitution and trashing it numerous times as though it was his god given right to do so.
And I hate him most of all for turning me into someone who didn't realize that I had so much hate in me.....I always thought I was a nice caring person who believed there is good in everyone if I looked deep enough.
I've looked hard and long at him numerous times, but always came up empty.

MAR thank you for your indignation,
please do not make yourself ill in the process.
The negative karma gwbu$$h brings upon himself
one can hope the weight overwhelms and comes crashing down upon him all at once. His day of reckoning is rapidly approaching, his path is littered with individuals he has gleefully victimized. This frat-boy is soon to get a good swift kick in the butt. Long past due for this clown, for sure !!!!

Today a mother of a son in North Carolina told me that they cannot visit him because the whole unit has been and is on 18 hour alert. In other words they can be gone to Iraq in 18 hours. This mom and dad have not seen their son since May.
Has anyone else wondered the impact of the families with dad or mom being gone for tour after tour and no end in sight? I wonder how many families have disintergrated with this illegal war of Bush's.
Amazing that to this day NOT ONE BUSH child, grandchild is serving in this family's war.
I guess our children's blood is cheaper.

This has not been a "family friendly" Administration. Remember,it has been the government - FOR CORPORATIONS, and run BY THE CORPORATIONS. But all people will only stand so much, before they revolt. Ask the French Revolutionists. As for our Armed forces witnessing murders of innocents, and having PTS, We need to muster ourselves in their defense, push for changes for them, petition, rally, move mountains FOR them, they are too sick and battered to do this on their own. We need to be the governing force again, and kick these crooks out of office.
These sick veterans, and those kicked out of the army and can't recieve "government help" need to be gathered up, and given a place to go where we CAN help them. There needs to be a coming together of our countrymen to aid them, as in Hurrican Katrina, when millions of donations came in . If nothing changes soon, we have ONLY ourselves to blame.

I think I have a form of PTSD from six years of endless futility in trying to get ONE DAMN THING DONE THAT MAKES SENSE IN THIS COUNTRY. Of course my PTSD is a thousand times milder then what the soldiers are going through, but they do have the advantage of being too busy to actually see how their country is being destroyed. They are over there hanging on the hope of coming back to something that simply doesn't exist anymore.
I just realized today after watching Bush's reaction to the idiotic "Iraq Study Group" calling him a complete failure and not really offering a good alternative. There is a word that describes him, the group and almost everybody in the congress:
oblivious
These guys really seem to believe that whatever they do is just destine to happen, and there's nothing they can do to stop it. Bush is sitting there holding the report of his failure like it was some kind of vindication.
Seeing Feingold on Olbermann tonight NOT BEING OBLIVIOUS was nice. Delay knew how to use a hammer, but Feingold knows how to hit a nail!
Feingold should be LEADING the senate!

Thanks Turk, I feel much better now after watching the decider once again make an ass of himself at the news briefing with Blair. It was so uplifting to watch him squirm as the reporters attacked..
I get the feeling that he's toast and he knows it.
And yes.....his day of reckoning can't be too far around the corner....the sooner the better IMHO.

The new USA military weapons system soon to be tested in Iraq - the Active Denial (weapons) System,
Link to details - ABC News
Once tested and perfected on the Middle East "rag-heads" then fuhrer bu$$h will deploy the system to the streets of America, Mexico, and the cities of our allies to discourage public demonstration and dissent - enabling them to achieve maximal crowd control by discouraging political protest and disobedience.

Yahooo..!!
Get those impeachment proceedings underway, people..!!
And Larry, when your flag day rolls around, I'll be back to the liquor store for another bottle of champagne.
The last time I bought one was on November 7th when I saw all the states turning blue. What a wonderful day THAT was...
Yes, yes.....indeed it was...
