Thank you for putting this up. You remain , and even more so , the best blog on the web. I'm still crying after watching today's episode on democracy now of Winter Soldier...esp. the parents who lost their son from suicide. If all of America could watch democracy now for the whole week...you couldn't keep our troops in Iraq from the public out cry. Michael Moore was the only public figure to say at the outset...these young people should not be put in this position. The national guard killed me. They should never have been asked to go fight for oil.

Three things have nauseated me today.
1.) There were peace protests and I can't find information about them other than "a handful of people arrested." (And I am the one that's supposed to know how to search)
2.) The protests don't look very big, could this be because of the fascist media and their less than 5 photo "copyrighted 2008 (AP, Ghetty) camera shots" or could it be that hardly anybody showed up? I don't know. If ya know do tell and provide links please.
3.) How the hell do people even know when these protests are? I just found out about it today. I never even heard of half these websites, am I living under a frigging rock? If you know a way to be TOLD ahead of time about these protests, please provide links.
I already figured out
http://resistinmarch.org/
http://www.stop-losscongress.org/
and
http://www.5yearstoomany.org/
However now it's quite after the fact.
This has to be the worst organizing I ever heard of. That DC should be flooded with MILLIONS of people not some handful of protesters arrested.
Straighten me out here if I am way off. Cause I don't see it and it don't give me much hope if this is all the people that are still patriots. And that makes me very nauseated.

Today marks the 5th year of a war we were lied into and an occupation that many decry as Illegal. Four years ago, we were told that America was in grave danger from Iraq. We were told that Iraqis had weapons of mass destruction and were close to achieving nuclear technology.
The Bush administration linked “9/11” to “Iraq” so many times that 70% of Americans believed Saddam Hussein was responsible for the 2001 attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade Center.
We were told lies then, and we’re being told lies now.

I am sorry there is a fourth thing.
4.) mostly mixed in with any report of these protests are either
a.) MORE time dedicated to pushing Bush's propaganda and lies (Quoting him and focusing away from these protests.) today from the Pentagon,
or b.) The pyromaniacs are burning everything up again. So a zillion little pissy ass fire/wildfire stories. (again removing focus from the protests)
I must be living under a frigging rock.
If anybody out there wants to dial me in AHEAD of time before the protests happen next time do let me know please.
Sorry if I seem slightly angry, it one way I fight off being nauseated.

Phil...I heard Amy Goodman, Democracy Now, in an interview with Brian Lamb, Meet the Press and Democracy Now are the number #1 news programs now. Check out the Democracy Now website too. So the Winter Soldier testimoney is getting out there. Have you got a local Peace and Justice group? Quaker group? There have been comments and blogs on this website about protest marches.Sorry I can't be of more help...have been unable to go to any until recently for health reasons. Should be increased interest since Winter Soldier testimony. I'm going.

I been banned from Mike Malloy (for mis-communication and pissing off the moderator who apparently won't talk to me, the webmaster there is cool though.) or I'd hit them daily too, but the best way for me to stay out of trouble there is to not be there and have the desire to comment, I still listen daily though and support him--even keep him linked up because I respect Mike a lot..
I don't go to ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, FOX, DailyKOS, and many others like Drudge, WND etc.
Everywhere I do go is hand edited into my custom edited searching pages. With more than ten years of links, bookmarks are more of an archive than useful. So I created a Start page based on this one: http://fravia.com/main.htm (Like I said I am supposed to know how to search, but apparently I am screwing up these days barely keeping up with information)
The other thing is I get half a frigging day with Ed Shultz which (although I don't hate him) he isn't my favorite news source, but there's nothing else out there but streaming something.

Alan writes good posts. Here's a classic he put together on University of Pennsylvania professor Steve Freeman and exit polls.

Sean Hannity was just named worst person in the world by Keith Olbermann, but I missed the reason why. Could it be because he's buddies with Hal Turner?

Phil,
Did you change meds or did you forget move on ... they are persona non grata, kinda like Americans, since the Amurkans took over the Land of The Stupid, and Home of the Lies, Amurka!
But in America at least 80% protest daily, simmer in anger daily, are swamped with disdain daily, are ashamed daily, that this government thinks the people are pleased with them.
In November America will spit on Amurka.

Dredd, I never really cared for MoveOn.
I came in late remember?
And when I came in, I always got the feeling that moveon (just the name alone) was and (still is) a defeatist attitude. I could be wrong, but I won't know because I won't go there.

For those who missed it, the rising cost of fuel is yet another sign of a Bush Cheney Mission Accomplished. What mission was that you ask? Why the mission was to create record profits for Bush's old oil buddies and Cheny's old corporate buddies. Why do they think the Bush administration went all the way to the supreme court and invoked executive privilege to keep Cheney's secret deals a secret? So when someone tells you Bush's legacy is just torture and lying about it you tell them: hogwash. For the first time in history an American president has started a war for the sole purpose of raising corporate and oil profits and it worked! There's your legacy! In my humble opinion.

You guys are Patriots.
Thank you Alan and Bradblog for hearing war veterans out and what they saw given the task as protectors and defenders of the #1 Superpower in the World. As a civilian growing up American, I find the leadership of the Commander In Chief George W. Bush, President of the Senate Dick Cheney, their administration, and their accomplices completely responsible for leading and perpetuating the call to arms. This has resulted in careless loss of life and the never ending pain inflicted onto the survivors from this destruction. The words of these soldiers must be felt and seen by all Americans but for most, it will never air on their corporate government media news programs. Remember.. the news is owned by corporations with print, radio, and TV all under 1 roof so the people who own these stations have tiesto these worthless greedy treasonous people. Thus it's not in their best interest to let Americans know truths about Bush's OUR)war by the people who fought there.
Is it a bad joke that all 3 candidates left most likely to be the next president are ALL THEIR CANDIDATES? Bought and nursed by big corporations dollars? These same bad people who have repeatedly lied and used deception to mislead the views of Americans, even using a false flag attack such as Federal World Trade Tower building #7 that imploded in 6 seconds although NOT hit by any aircraft. This was effective to reach the goal of justifying wars, increase Executive powers, decreased rights of the people, and an unlimited budget for the military to fund bigger guns and an occupation where have become the enemy. Ultimately we're talking about raiding every last bit of American's wealth and a complete criminal takeover of powers at the Federal level. This is made possible by a vulgar display of criminality imposed onto US Constitution and the iron fist contol of the US political news media. An above the law mentality breaks laws today and worry about it tomarrow. This elitist criminal attitude dictatates that if we make it dissapear, it doesn' exist. Or we can plea bargain it down to nothing and come up with some other excuse like falty intelligence. It is important to note that this idealogy has been applied to other areas of government by the Bush administration such as their endless criminal destruction again the air, land, and sea.
The war of Iraq demonstrates clear criminal intent. In the end you have blood washing through the streets like a raging out of control river. One that only knows death and tears for producing a system of such morally bankrupt representatives of the American people that OUR world is made a much more dangerous place on every front from their unfit corrupt leadership. Yet these same people go to the war zone on it's 5 yr anniversary to declare OUR US WAR is doing well.
If i ever speak on the floors of Congress, in complete respect of the military and all servicemen who have answered the call to fight for their country, I will speak of this wrongful occupation and call for the white flag to be waved immediately.

I watched all week long. All I can say is those men and women have my deepest gratitude, admiration and prayers. When it comes to this war, they are who all Americans should be listening to. But as another stab in the back, a total msm blackout! GET DIRECT OR DISH TV AND WATCH REAL NEWS!

I hope someone here would pick up on story about how MSM is spinning who pays property taxes on a house that is forclosed. The propaganda press said the banks pay property taxes. I found out differently. THE BANKS PAY 0 PROPERTY TAXES. This should be a big story.
