MARYLAND BOARD OF ELECTIONS WEBSITE SCRUBBED!

Share article:

Results from last Tuesday’s Primary Election in Maryland (which was in and of itself a debacle), have apparently been scrubbed from the Maryland Board of Elections website! As of right now, 6:36pm ET, no election totals are currently available on the site after they’ve previously been there all week as counting has continued.

I’m currently on the air and thus not able to look into it further, so I’ve not been able to get any explanation for this. But I thought you should know. A screenshot from one of the pages (they are all currently zeroed out!) is below…

UPDATE 7:23pm ET: Courtesy of HuffCrimeBlog.com’s Steve Huff, here’s a screenshot from the Google archives of the same page above as it was seen on 9/14/06 with all of the unofficial results still being added…

I’ve tried to contact the MD Board of Elections by phone, but it’s after hours and nobody is currently answering. Just FYI. If anybody has any luck in the morning or additional info on any of this, please let me know!

UPDATE 9/20/06 11:20am ET: Website numbers are currently back up. Will try to learn what happened and report back when I do. No idea if the numbers now restored will synch up with what was there before they were zeroed out. We’ve seen similar computer drop-outs, only to be restored later with races flipped (in the 2004 Ohio Presidential and in the 2005 Ohio Hackett/Schmidt race, for example) but never this late after Election Day. We’ll keep our eye on it and try to get more for you later today.

Wow – you would think this would be news somewhere in the MSM or the so-called-liberal blogosphere. But, of course, no one will say boo.

    Surprise, surprise, surprise…

So what’s the implication?: that they can’t do an adequate count with all the failures? That they are giving up and starting over!? That there have been one too many lawsuits from candidates because of the election meltdown?

One thing is for sure- many candidates and some of the media are starting to recognize, report on and call into question the use of these corrupt and corruptible machines. November is going to be very interesting.

The Republican winners of the state primaries have been sworn in by Hastert and Frist,.. the elections are over now – no need for the November midterms. Our “rulers” have selected our winning candidates for us.

If ANYONE still thinks we have a democracy…now it’s just off the charts outrageous/in need of a revolution. I mean, what the fuck are they going to do next??? You can’t even make up this shit if your life depended on it, and it’s our democracy…our most sacred right of voting and having our votes count. Is this on ABC???

If it wasn’t so sad, it would be the funniest thing ever. It would be funny if it were on SNL or Mr. Show, but this is real life, for Christ’s sake!!! Does anyone in power care? Do the Dems care???

While it’s healthy to be suspicious, there are potential explanations for this which aren’t in the vote-stealing/fraud category.

    Is this on ABC???
No, but it’s not on kos, atrios, c&l, fdl, digby, greenwald, or the usual gang of suspects either – not trying to be snarky – just pointing out a simple, true, verifiable FACT!

Why should ABC cover this when the self-proclaimed “voices” of liberalism (NOT) also refuse to cover this?

Chris Hooten said on 9/19/2006 @ 10:29pm PT: [Permalink]

I wouldn’t hold my breath until ABC covered much of anything. Remember what happened to Bill Maher over Politically Incorrect? Plus, of course, the recent crap they aired is downright misleading. On a good note, though, I have been astonished at Fox News occasionally actually doing their job! They covered the Princeton study (!) And on Fox News Sunday I was astonished that Chris Wallace was asking some tough questions of Negroponte and Boehner. They kind of looked irked at him as he smirked and kept putting them on the hot seat. I’ve never seen that on Fox News. They had a thing on Bob Ney, too.
    They are all here

This is a 48-second clip of Linda Lamone testifying to the Virginia Subcommittee on Electronic Voting in July, 2005. While explaining to the committee members how elections are run in Maryland, she makes the following crystal-clear:

“I digress for a minute; in Maryland, the authority to run elections is centralized. I am the boss. The buck stops with me. I’m the one who gets in trouble when anything happens. The counties have to use the voting systems that the state selected. They have to follow state procedures.

“It’s different; they’re not as autonomous in Maryland as they are in many other jurisdictions. The local governing entity for elections is at the county level. They’re called the County Election Boards, but they — they’re appointed by the Governor — but it’s still — the major authority is at the state level.”

So it seems that Lamone is the Top Dog, where the buck stops. Except when it doesn’t.

#17..That’s one of my peeves. I got banned from Kos for asking if he took Diebold money. Not only did Kos discourage discussion of election fraud when people were really interested..There is a group who will slam a diary the first four or five comments tin foil hat blah blah blah for election fraud info. Americablog’s John Avarosis called Cynthia McKinny a nutjob because she is for Palesetinians having human rights. He admitted that was his problem with her. I asked him if he took AIPAC money. FDL and Crooks and Liars prefaced any electon fraud info with I don’t know anything about this. Talking about yer talking points.

Keep this up, so we can compare the “pre-scrubbed” totals, to the next totals they decide to post. I can’t wait. They gotta post them sooner or later…when they post them…. “LET THE COMPARISONS BEGIN!!!”

    # 17 Molly: The same thing happens when a 9-11 “truther” goes on kos or other liberal blogs. They have a cadre of canned acts that try to smother the discussion. Speech is free only if you stay on topic and the host of the blog gets to decide the topics. Liberals are brain dead if they don’t think they will be on the top of the list for the 600 Halliburton detention camps when martial law is declared.

    Thanks.

A youtube version of the video in #19 is available at

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=murESYdoQjU

In short, it’s Linda Lamone testifying before a Virginia subcommittee on electronic voting and (essentially) gloating about her power and responsibility over Maryland elections. (“I am the boss.”)

This was, of course, before the total meltdown in the primary last week.

    Whoops.

Old Turk # 27: I hadn’t seen the video of the FEMA/Halliburton detention centers before. Seeing is believing. But I’m sure it is only to be used in case of a massive influx of illegal immigrants. It looks like the plan is to send them back in urns.

In your link to the state by state list of camps they indicate McClellan AFB – facility capable for 30,000 – 35,000 Sacramento.

Good grief – that’s less than a mile from my house as the old C5’s used to fly when it was an operational Air Force Base.

I wonder though – it is now a commercial development with general aviation repair facilities and other busineses and the gaurd stations are no longer manned. I don’t know of any facility on the base that would meet the listed purpose. Most of the housing for the military folks that used to work there was off base with a few dormitories on the base. Some of those have been converted to hotels as have the old enlisted officer houses.

At one time there was an associated internment camp which was used during WWII to hold the Japanese people. It was demolished about 20 years ago – they burned down all the buildings causing a huge problem due to the asbestos that was spread all over the place.
Currently they are trying to clean up the ground water etc. at and around the base from all the chemicals that were spilled there, as well as the dumps thet were forgotten about – full of chemicals and radio-active components.

Likewise Mather AFB, which is listed, is now a commercial airport serving Fed-Ex and UPS planes to mention a few.
It has been a number of years since I have been on that base, but at least then, there also was nothing like a detention center. It used to be a Stratigic Air Command B52 base and as such had much in the way of security fences etc.

    BB-2,..

If you happen to go by and checkout the “camps” please be on your best behavior,.. be polite,.. and don’t arouse any suspicions. Your Comments to the blog are a nice addition,.. we would not want you to be among the “disappeared”. I don’t know who compiled the list. I am kind of curious what info you might dig up.

We have a large naval air base about thirty-five miles north. The AWAC submarine finder planes are going down to Florida to be permanently stationed at that base. A big money favor to jeb from the Mayberry Machiavelli (gwb). In about three years this base up here will be closed right down. This may too become one of those FEMA detention facilities.

I have read from a few different sources that some of these concentration/detention facilities have a large crematorium. Big plans for these “Camps”,.. I guess.

Maryland repopulated their website with numbers yesterday. We just don’t know what those numbers represent. Check out today’s Washington Post. PG county can’t even find dozens of memory cards.

Chris Hooten said on 9/21/2006 @ 8:16am PT: [Permalink]

I wonder if the camps are designed for some sort of biological attack, or disease outbreak. Would they actually build a means to destroy all the “infected” people? Then again, they might need to destroy clothes and other stuff that might be infected. You know, diseases like “bird flu” or something. I would like to hear an explanation of the “furnaces” (or whatever they are)… I doubt I will hear one, but I deserve one (an explanation, not a furnace) Did I really have to clarify that? How sad.

That teenage rave party that was raided was in the same area Michael Moore visted before the 2004 election here in Utah and caused such an uproar. It looks like the raid was done on [9-11] 2005. These facsists really understand dramatic effect, don’t they? I wanted to provide a link to a radio program here that interviewed some of the dance organizers, but the MP3 is no longer there. Damn! Here is a description where the MP3 used to be posted:

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (2005-09-12) Did the Utah County Sheriff Department go too far? Armed in full GI Joe attire with attack dogs, helicopters, camouflage and semi-automatic weapons, these wannabe soldiers assaulted young party goers who were legally permitted to hold an event on private property.
