The only lame part of the show was that these guests who have spent apparently little to no time investigating the truth of 9/11 as an inside job by their responses, dismissed the premise on the presumtion that the government cannot keep a secret??? You would think they could connect the dots enough to at least entertain the thought:
What was the outcome in the aftermath of 9/11?
Billions of U.S. Taxpayer money (now a growing debt) shoveled into the BUSHIT WAR ON TERROR with massive power awarded to Bush machine.
Rights taken away from Americans.
Pre-emtive strike used to attack Iraq based on lies associated with 9/11.
A swiss cheese investigation of 9/11 by FEMA.
Look at the experts and ordinary people who have put in hard time to question and investigate something that seems to elude the AMERICAN PEOPLE CALLED THE TRUTH.

GBD:
I agree. The joke is truly on us. The sane are not laughing as much as these sociopaths.
Bushco. has succeeded beyond their wildest expectations.
- proper 9/11 investigation - thwarted.
- the invasion of Iraq to control their oil - success.
- tax breaks for the big corporations - done.
- 2 stolen elections without any proper investigation and the distict possibility (probablility) that the same will be done in 2008 - slam dunk.
- fear running through the veins of every American to marianate them into sacrificing more and more of their liberties and freedoms, breaking constitutional law after constitutional law without widespread outrage - yawn.
My laughter is limited when Bill Maher scoffs at the President's failures because, in their sick twisted minds, these aren't really failures at all.

Grizzly Bear and Stop George you are both spot on. How come George is so worried about terror yet he refuses to implement regulations to inspect ports properly. He wanted to push a deal through letting a Saudi company have control of US ports. He has now appointed a militaray man to the CIA.
He is moving slowly but surely to millitary dictatorship and that is why he is collecting phone records. To silence people once the dictatorship is declared.

You are not alone.
I wonder, though, if the MSM has been afraid because the republican dictatorship has info on them and they are now compromised (Raw Story here)?
The republican dictatorship admits now to spying on the MSM, perhaps because it now seems to be what the republican dictatorship sees as the norm:
"The FBI acknowledged late Monday that it is increasingly seeking reporters' phone records in leak investigations (link here, bold added).
'It used to be very hard and complicated to do this, but it no longer is in the Bush administration,' said a senior federal official.
The acknowledgement followed our blotter item that ABC News reporters had been warned by a federal source that the government knew who we were calling" (ibid, bold added).
"Who ya gonna call" is not something the republican dictatorship asks anymore, they already know.
I feel a lot better now , knowing that the republican dictatorship is protecting me from al Queida terrorist reporters, who don't like to talk about defective election systems in the US.
Yep, when the MSM jumped in bed with (embedded) the republican dictatorship, they became the MSM presstitutes who would be spied upon themselves.
No prophylactics in use here.
The MSM is now fully dispensable and compromised such that more and more they must do the bidding of the republican dictatorship.
And that does not include speaking truth to power ... or to anyone else it seems ... about the train wreck boogie they are all dancing to.

In this letter, the Iranian leader questions Bush about 9/11, American poverty, the Iraq War, and mentions Christ a lot, asking Bush why he isn't following the teachings of Christ...

Why wasn't this letter from the leader of Iran, gone over in detail, in the MSM???

The letter was not gone over in detail, because it exposes a dicotomy of the religious right, which I tend to call "churchianity".
The republican dictatorship has attempted to train Americans to think Islam is anti-christian.
They, never having read the Koran, do not realize that Christ is considered to be a holy prophet in Islam.
But in by contrast Judiaism in general Christ is held to be a false prophet.
Therefore churchianity in the US, Jerry Falwell and Pat Roberts style, is closer to the nations that do not think Christ is a "good guy" than they are to those who think Christ is a holy prophet.
Go figure.
It is like Diebold saying paper ballots are the enemy, and electronic voting machines are the cat's meow.

And this morning, the FBI says - "Ooops, we meant to say we do NOT spy on reporters"
Also, AT&T now says it did NOT turn over phone records.
Well then.
I guess all that's settled.
Time to get on to more important things, like making rich people richer and keeping homosexuals from breaking up heterosexual marriages by marrying other homosexuals.
Ya know, I can't help but think - ten years ago, if someone had written a FICTION book with HALF of the stuff we've been dealing with in this administration, no one would have bought it because it would have been considered too far "out there".
Somebody tell me, at exactly what point did we enter Bizarro world?

I think everyone who wanders into this article, should read the green highlight I put above, and actually READ what the leader of Iran said, not listen to what FOX News & CNN are TELLING us he said...

Here's something else I just thought of.
Using the term "records" makes it sound like it's an after-the-fact tactic. However, if this is truly used to thwart terrorism, then it would have to be "Live" to be of any use, right? Well, if it's live then the proper term is "surveillance."

I watched gwb speech tonight and then watched abc nightline. OK now I really am scared. They have technology that can see people in the dark just from their body heat. The speech scared the shit out of me. ID cards with bio tech recognition, UNMANNED drones,The national gaurd on our border, Detention areas and they are building more. They are tracking all phone calls and E-mail. Reporters having their calls monitored. You know damn well they are also monitoring dissenters, and politicos. DUDE Where the Fuck did my country go? How in the Hell did this happen? This immigration non issue is to usher in the Police State. Are they going to put blackwater security on our borders,so they can treat us the way they are treating Iraqis, the way they treated our people in New Orleans? I am so pissed I can't see straight. We do not need the national gaurd on our borders. We need 10,000 border gaurds, that bush has defunded since he became the liar in chief. Impeachment is too good for these crooks. They need to go to the Hague for WAR CRIMES against HUMANITY! Thats why the trolls come here. They know everything we are doing. Brad watch your ass will you? I watched the Bill Mahr show and he seems like a little GIRLY MAN, its all about where he lives and its ok with him to monitor calls to get terrorists. If there is so many terrorists out there then why is the national gaurd spying on the Grannys for peace. You'd think they'd have more inportant things to do. Like finding the terrorists who are supposedly in this country making all these phone calls, My head just exploded all over my keyboard. Hey maybe thats how their going to take us out!

I thought the show sucked for an entirely different reason. When Maher interviewed Gibson (from Fox) he just sat there while Gibson told every RW lie about Joe Wilson. I am just disgusted by the show and Maher letting Gibson get away with it.
Do you think Maher doesn't realize that Gibson was telling all those lies, or just doesnt' give a shit?

I have a comment on words that are used by some bloggers like the word (fear). Everytime you write that word or say it, you feed into there hands. They only have control when you have fear. It's OK to have fear. It's not OK to let it out.
A real patriot has no fear in protecting his or her country. A real patroit will stand up against wrong with no fear. A real patroit will die for his or her country with no fear.
Please take the words fear, scared or anything else negative out of blogs, letters and phone calls. There listening!!! We need your strength not your fear.
Fear is Evils blessing.
As a Veteran: I thank you all for your hard work and letting me see that what I feel I have helped protect, was worth it !!!!!!

I bought basic cable and HBO especially for Maher, but I've been disappointed this year. Maybe Maher feels he has to hold back to prevent civil war breaking out on his stage, or maybe we're all just more depressed then usual.
I kind of miss his old show format on ABC where he didn't have the same guests on all the time. I recorded a few of them and they were great!
What was wrong with taking phone calls from ordinary Americans like they started out doing. Just because they had a little dead air a couple of times wasn't reason to scrap the idea!
