John,
Well sedd.
I am a proud American who thinks war is a bloodletting, killer, victiminzing, horrible, child killing, mother killing, father killing, cousin killing, animal killing, tree killing, and anything that moves killing activity of those who can't figure out another solution.
I evne went to prison rather than be associated with those who kill. For whatever reason and for the latest mainstream idea.
And when I was there I refused to work in their cable plant that made missle parts. So I spent time in "the hole". So they tried to kill me once at least. You know, the McCain thingy.
And America has been good to me, but Amurka has not. No wonder Ghandhi and Mandela live elsewhere. But they don't know America from the inside like I do, they only know Amurka. Because the world MSM has lost touch with America. (So has the Amurkan MSM.)
Fair enough, I have not been very good to Amurka either. And I never will be. Do you fight for Amurka or for America? How does one tell?
I think Amurka Sucks, but I love America.
What can I do to help your cause? (I speak out regularly about the Amurkan election religion, and generally support all you advocate.)

What a travesty, John. I posted your commentary at my site as well. Would you please explain how registering vets to vote at certain places violates the Hatch Act?

John,
I think I found a parody, microcosm, or something english that explains the Amurkan MSM as applied to the plight of "veterans".
The "character" of Amurka:
A sheriff's deputy discovered the remains of a 90-year-old woman on a toilet in a house she apparently shared with a woman and two children.
(Duh News). To put it in context of your story, and meet the requirements of my parody, I think the 90 year old woman found dead on the toilet, who died taking a shit, and who no one noticed, represents those who do the shit work for Amurkan warmongers of the military oil complex. You guys.
My motto for those murthaforkers who exploit you and the rest of us is "A straight flush beats a full house".
G** damn Amurka, G** bless America.
But the McPain marches on ...

I just sent a quick message to Feinstein, since she's one of my senators, and she and Kerry are on to it.
Dear Sen. Feinstein,
I applaud your efforts, together with Sen. Kerry, to do something about the VA's decision to prohibit voter registration drives.
Following is a comment from my friend, John Gideon, of VotersUnite.org, which, I think, says it all:
I am a Disabled Viet Nam Vet. I am also a retired federal employee. I understand the Hatch Act which was written to ensure that partisan politics has no place in our federal work force. It is a good act and not hard to follow. However, the actions of the Department of Veteran’s Affairs with regards to not allowing voter registration of veterans in VA run nursing homes, hospitals, and all other VA owned facilities, including a minor league baseball park, is despicable.
The group of people who have every right to vote are those who went to war and fought for that right. For the VA to not allow even non-partisan organizations to help our veterans to register to vote and to hide behind the Hatch Act when doing so is a slap in the face to every veteran.
The thought that my brothers and sisters may be prevented from giving their opinion in November because an organization that is supposed to be there to help them actually wants them muzzled, is distasteful to say the least.
Sincerely,
Linda

If the people doing the registration are non-partisan groups like the League of Women Voters there is no Hatch Act violation.
See Brad's blog on this subject

Your first link up there, btw, to Feinstein's office, takes you to a page where there's a fairly detailed description of this prohibition of voter registration drives for vets.

I am with Linda in Post #2. Post this every where.
John, can you post this at VoteVets.org. They should be able to whip up people to take widespread voter registration of vets action.
Another veterans group will need to send in volunteers who are spouses of Hatch Act prohibited people to register them to vote and make sure that their voting rights are up held.
This is not new however, and now, as before, active duty soldiers are being denied the right to vote.

She has my scorn for voting Muckassy in as AG then complaining about it.
You have my sympathy but I have one just as bad, Kay Baily Hutchinson who I have long since disowned.
Feinstien should know better, Kay never has and never will have a clue.
