I think you always have to keep in mind if Sarah has ever written anything herself.
I can see someone reading to her what they wrote for her while shes putting on her make-up, looking into a mirror and then saying "Oh that just sounds dandy, add a few gosh darns and sign my name to it"

She is lying when her lips move. And if she "writes" something that isn't gibberish, then it's ghostwritten.

Palin is known for her flip-floppery, and this is not the first instance. She also flip-flopped on advance directives. IIRC, in 2008 she signed a health care proclamation endorsing advance directives. After quitting her governorship and becoming a media celebrity politician, she dubbed advance directives, "death panels." Consistency in anything besides getting richer is not her strong suit, and in spite of all that has been revealed about her lack of credibility, her supporters still think she is POTUS material because "she has commonsense, and she's just like me!"

Someday, I hope the progressive community figures out that knowing "they're lying" doesn't help.
The question is, how do you make the tea-party crowd, which WANTS to believe the lies, and WILL believe the LIES if it's convenient, whether they know they are lies or not, realize that it's not really in their interest to believe the lies.
The facts are only marginally relevant to a large portion of the electorate. They won't even be heard if the emotional triggers are wrong. That's what every Republican adviser understands, and what a lot of the progressive community refuses to acknowledge.
Actually, the progressive community's failure to acknowledge this is evidence of the exact same phenomenon. Progressives find it inconvenient to believe that rational persuasion won't work, so they refuse to believe it, despite decades of evidence. It's more convenient, or at least satisfying. to be the "smart guy with the facts," than the idiot like Bush or Palin. But, sorry folks, the "idiots" have been beating the pants off the "smart guys" since, probably, forever.

@ Mitch! O, I could just kiss you (in a platonic, nonthreatening way) for that post!~ Exactly.
RIGHT! There is no conversation when they think we can "agree to disagree" on facts. Your last graph is so eloquently worded, Mitch, that I'd like to see it embroidered on a pillow I can use to hit people over the head with. A tightly packed, sweetly embroidered pillow.
RIGHT! You can't "reach" these a-historical Fox-tards through logic and oxford style debate. Period. Fox News is their excuse for being rudely, willfully ig'nant. They do not allow the transfer of reason when it's in conflict with whatever hooey is riding up their wedge; whatever loony-baloony Hitler reference Fox is blowing as their daily dog-whistle, stupid call to arms.
We, as what's left of the rational nationals, should know better than to hand them the keys. Especially my darling Bradbloggers - based solely on our own personal interfaces here (recently become our own little TEABAGGER petri dish; a bizarro world of pseudo-libertarian L&A testing) to the logical reader it seems counter productive, at best, to spend so much time devoted to "debunking their lies" or "setting them straight". They are intractable.
At worst, we are unintentionally catering to the dorky-corpo master's grand design by repeating these absurdities - stooping to advance their cause, even in debunking them. These foot soldier trolls have proven time and time again they are impervious to facts. Some have have even declared it here, outright!
I know that's hard for some of us to truly absorb - that they're critically thinking skills have been vaporized, and they're NOT rejuvinating like we'd hoped.
Perhaps it's hard to accept because it feels counter-intuitive to give on what seems to be a fellow, teachable, human soul. This is why the use of brain-eating "zombies" to describe them is so very apt. I'm sure lot of people related to Zombies found it very hard to accept, at first, too. I have an Aunt Sue...a newly minted Zombie Fox-tard. I mourn her, but I've come to accept and understand that she's just a brain eating Zombie, now. Fact of Life. Shrug. She's still my Aunt Sue. She's just more like a pet, now. Can't let her out of her cage around mixed company...she wets herself when she gets worked up about cap and trade. Gotta bring newspapers with us when we go to Sizzler. Keep her away from sharp knives and talk radio.
Just how many forums are devoted to the antics of the freaky teabaggers, these days? How many articles online? How many "Teabag" / "successionsist" fearmongering leaders are published as legitimate voices in the once-hallowed pages of our now piss-poor press, too lazy to refute them as the dubious propaganda-lies-spin they clearly are.
I'm so sick of duking it out with these emotionally stunted bungies as a result of the kind of heft they are being handed - makes me want to move to one of the mountain-tops they haven't exploded yet and talk to goats.
Mitch T., you rock. Yes, the question is not 'how do we educate or convince them' (you can not finesse the crazy people, my non-crazy people) - but how do we deprogram them? Or if they will not be deprogrammed, then how to we de-fang /de-claw them /drag them out of the driver's seat and restore our better track debate - to be determined by the SOUND MAJORITY CENTER rest of us.

I'm a left wing environmentalist who literally hugs trees, but I've seen too much evidence. Global warming is not man made and is not necessarily even warming The jury is still out on the that part.
I'm all for clean air and water and making corporations pay for the pollution they spew.
I"m for renewable energy and disclosure of the free energy technology that Tesla spoke of.
But Global Warming is a scam being played upon us by globalist who are taking away our sovereignty and are hell bent on a one world government, and enslaving the population.
The email scandal should wake everybody up to what is going on.
It goes way beyond, "Hide the decline".

Mitch and Jeanie...OUTSTANDING! reads. You 2 zeroed in on the point. The debate with zombie righties 'in a bizzaro world of psuedo libertarian' manufactered silliness seems so crazy now...
It's like a merry go round. Nothing gets accomplished except they become more entrenched in their blindness...and we become more frustrated. It's like debating them only makes them stronger.
Personally I think they fear their own minds...so they allow...no they demand; that others think for them and tell them what to feel and who to fear. The fear factor is their trigger..given the proper fear quotient they'll believe anything.
Which brings me to Mitch's spot on idea of...
The facts are only marginally relevant to a large portion of the electorate. They won't even be heard if the emotional triggers are wrong.
The emotional triggers! Awesome Mitch...you're correct.
Fear is their emotional trigger...fear is an intense blinding emotion. It blots out even love, compassion and most of all rational thought. Fear once ingested is like an addictive drug...it needs to be constantly sought out and ingested...to the point of death.
Love can dispel fear...But the major question is how do we love the seemingly unlovable ?
One major way is to not "war" verbally or otherwise with a person living in fear, it only intensifies their condition.
The major fear these folks have is fear of change...they're comfortable with the devils they know. Change triggers their fears like dust triggers sneezes...any change.
You see, a person who is afraid to think (fear their own minds) fears changes in their environment...they'll have to then *think* in order to relate to a changed environment. These people have been taught by society from a very early age that thoughts are dangerous...thoughts are not to be examined or entertained. They've been told what to think, feel and act upon. They're not investigators because they don't/can't think...and they may find something that conflicts with their programming, which will bring them to crisis.
Fear of their own minds...fear of change...
How is that overcome ?...It will probably take a light (understanding) greater than we can muster on our own.
Bosco @10

Please I would love to see that evidence.
But Global Warming is a scam being played upon us by globalist who are taking away our sovereignty and are hell bent on a one world government, and enslaving the population.
Please provide some rational explanation for that theory...I'm all ears...as it were.
Don't you think that maybe the world is already enslaved by corporate neo-fascists who own our government ? Corporations that do as they please, will of the people be damned.
How would holding corporations accountable for their environmental messes enslave the people...?
Isn't your position counter-intuitive ?

The Right wingers love to say...
"The world is a dangerous place"
yeah well...the State fair has dangers to...but not too many people fear the State fair.
The constant right wing meme of "the world being a dangerous place" is simple conditioning for their loyalists to accept the dictates of talk radio, Fox news and right wing fear mongers.
Folks that deny man made climate change seem to have been conditioned to "fear governments"...a classic right wing ploy. Neuter the government in order to empower corporate fascist rule...corporations that will make this earth a living hell.
Corporations are souless...they only worship profit, the bottom line. Corporations have a long history of destroying one eco-system and then simply moving on to another.
Man made climate change is happening...only the blind will deny it.
I won't post links on this thread...there are plenty of links giving solid scientific evidence for man made climate change on topic related articles on this blog...

A Costco in Utah took tomatoes off the shelves during a visit by Sarah Palin, after the Alaska Governor was pelted with the fruit on a stop at the Mall of America. Via Harpers, the Salt Lake Tribune reports.

And I'm the King of Prussia. You're a phony, Bosco. That's a point I'll be happy to retract as soon as you show us the "evidence" from the "email scandal" showing anything that you allege as fact above.
You're as much of a "left wing environmentalist" as Lou Dobbs and Glenn Beck.

Sarah Palin Goes On Vacation. And Quits.
by Steve Singiser

http://www.dailykos.com/...s-On-Vacation.-And-Quits.
Following TP report, Sarah Palin is booted from her scheduled speech at a Canadian hospital fundraiser.
Last week, it was revealed that Sarah Palin had been booked to deliver a $200,000 speech at a hospital fundraiser in Canada. ThinkProgress was the first to report that the event seemed odd given the fact that the hospital — which offers the same advanced directive service that Palin derided as “death panels” — is part of a “socialist” health care system Palin abhors. Now, the Toronto Sun reports that Palin has “been given the boot” and will no longer appear at the fundraiser for St. Peter’s hospital. Jeff Valletine, the vice president of communications for Hamilton Health Sciences, said that he had received a backlash for inviting Palin:
“Individually I’m a bit surprised by the magnitude of the reaction but I’m not too surprised. Sarah Palin is a strong personality who brings out lots of opinions from lots of folks, so that’s to be expected.”
Last month, Canadian comedian Mary Walsh asked her about Canadian health care, to which Palin responded, “Canada needs to dismantle its public health-care system and allow private enterprise to get involved and turn a profit.” According to the Sun, Palin will instead give a speech to a local children’s charity.
