Another event I personally watched on C-SPAN yesterday was the visit from the head of a mid-east country, Jordan.

He addressed the joint congress and urged the United States to begin peace negotiations before a disaster happens that will damage the entire world.

He was gracious, articulate, and spoke without hesitation or looking at notes.

The King of Jordan addressing both houses of congress was the big news of the day. It was missed.

They also had a ticker under Libby, "Libby found not guilty of lying to the FBI" (the only count he was found "not guilty" of...)

The dems have announced an effort to put forth amendments to the pending appropriations (the public trough) to begin to bring the Iraq debacle under a sanity phase in.

The blue dog dems (right leaning on the war funding) and the liberal left wing elements are somewhat apart on this.

However, I expect some of these measures to pass the House.

In the Senate the neoCons will attempt a filibuster but, since they got 56 votes on cloture on approving the House resolution, saying the war was not in our national interest, it is possible that a filibuster will fail in the Senate.

At any rate, all the dems can do is expose the neoCon war criminals by bringing this to a vote.

That is all I can ask of them. If they bring it to a vote, even a cloture vote, they have done all they can do.

Until the '08 election where and when we can vote more of the 21 republicans, who are up for re-election in '08, out of office.

Then sanity will have 60 votes in the Senate, and we can begin to heal, impeach, and prosecute the sicko's who took over the republican party a decade or so ago and who really hurt the United States of America.

HANNITY AND COLMES BAIL OUT OF A DISCUSSION WITH SALT LAKE CITY MAYOR ROCKY ANDERSON!

The mayor had made four or more contacts with the show and was scheduled for an appearance tonight to discuss the issue of impeachment. At the last minute, Fox chickened out!

A caller to Hannity's radio show resulted in Hannity issuing a challenge to Rocky for a debate in Salt Lake. Hannity's show is broadcast on a local radio station here which is as FAR right as you can get and I'm sure the audience at the event will be as screened as a french door, but Rocky says BRING IT ON!

Rocky will be speaking at another rally here on the 19th of this month (11am at Pioneer Park for a march to the west side of the City and County Building at 12pm for the speeches).

When Bush was here last August, more people showed up to protest Bush's visit then in support, (BY ANYBODY'S COUNT), so any skewing of the audience towards the right will be false if the event is held in Salt Lake City!
