Meanwhile the republican White House has asked the Supreme Court to approve gerrymandering in the Texas cases. The gerrymandering was engineered by Tom DeLay.
The cases are League of United Latin American Citizens v. Perry, 05-204; Travis County v. Perry, 05-254; Jackson v. Perry, 05-276; GI Forum of Texas v. Perry, 05-439.
As long as democratic minority keep getting blamed for the status brought on by the republican majority, the same things will continue.

RE: #2
Forgot to include this link.
Note that the MSM cleans up "gerrymandering" by calling it "redistricting".

OT
We are "winning" the republican war in Iraq ... say the republicans.
However, new statements by republican Rummy indicate, I guess, that even tho NSA spying has been claimed by republicans to be a part of war, winning the confidence of the nations of the earth is not.
Republican Rummy says the US is loosing the public relations battle (link here).
So, public relations is not a part of war, but spying on Americans is?
Wow, Rummy and the other republicans really have a way with words, its just that governing is a really hard thing and they can't do that very well.
Talking points they do good at, however.
If they wanted to take over this BLOG they would post #1 most of the time ... but they could not run this BLOG cause it takes more than talk.
My guess is that Rummy just wants some more propaganda money for the November elections. These republicans will blame this on the democrats and say "it is the fault of the democrats" for not stopping us.

Republicans couldn't manage this blog because the people who contribute to it are intelligent.
Except for a few trolls, that is. Republicans need people who don't think for themselves (like trolls), but who simply regurgitate what they heard Rush Limbaugh or Bill O'Reilly say earlier in the day.
Talking points instead of reason. Ad hominem attacks instead of argument. Name-calling instead of criticism. We don't have to go there, unless we really want to.

I was thinking about these voting irregularities and tampering when it occurred to me: carbon copy voting. Turn in the original to the election official, keep the carbon. Or better yet, have the carbon come with a pre-addressed/pre-stamped envelope. You mail the copy to the National Ballot Lockbox , which is really a collection of small boxes that reside in your local post office branch. Post Office takes tampering seriously. If the election goes off uncontested, the NBL can dispose of the contents 30 days prior to the next election ballot.
Paper ballots you say? Old fashioned? Carbon copies!!! Get outta here---
Listen, if No Child Left Behind really worked, then people really would be able to read and write. They'd do all sorts of things quicker and more accurately (except for typing skills).
Paper comes from a renewable resource--if you believe Louisiana-Pacific and other corporate sawmills.
Think about it. A few seconds anyway.
