Is it just a coincidence that she died on the day Alito took the oath of office?
Sometimes people get the "what's the use" feeling when they look at the state of the union.
Politicians and journalists, if there is an afterlife, will have some explaining to do.
There was a lot of hope generated with the work of the King family. I support their efforts and hope that they will find reason to continue the good work.

Boy, whitey really took a beating at her funeral. I wonder why Jimmy Carter or Teddy Kennedy didn't mention the fact that Bobby Kennedy OK'ed the tapping of Martin Luther King's phone? I guess when Democrats do it it's not that big a deal.

Rev DR Joseph Lowery was the best
At the end of his eulogy, he shook hands with Jimmy Carter, then Bill Clinton, then Hillary, didn't even acknowledge Bush 1 or 2 and shook everyone elses hand, but skipped any neo-con he saw
That was great

Do you have any proof of your allegations? We do not accept the words of neoCons at face value. Mainly because neoCons are two faced.
And if there were illegal wiretaps by any president, it was and is wrong.
Be sure to remember that events before 1978 when FISA was enacted are different than events after that time.
And don't forget that the current president openly says presidents have such power anyway. That would include Kennedy, Nixon, Ford, Carter, and Bush I.
So if you agree with Bush, and accepting your facts, Kennedy also had the constitutional right to do what Bush is now doing out in the open.
Rot has replaced reason in the minds of the neoCon fascists playing with themselves in public these daze.

I started watching the service when the Rev. was speaking, everyone was laughing and I thought, what is this. Then I realized that it was a funeral service. When I saw bush there I almost gagged. What was he doing on stage? Did the family invite him, or was this a another staged photo op. I understand now, that he actually spoke. I cannot believe him and Poppy, especially, had the guts to attend the service of this incredible woman. They should kiss her feet. They has no business being front and center. Poppy bush, the evil that more than likely was complicat in the death of her husband, gets up and makes jokes..what an ass.
I thought the rest of the speakers were excellent and the harp, dancers, and Bolten were so spiritual. 'w' and 'poppy' were there for the photos imo. 'w' got what he deserved and he couldn't control this group..couldn't have his SS checking the people for their political affiliation..no wonder he ran out, he must have been real scared and cheney and rove weren't there to hold his hand, poor boy. hmm,
funny, brad has not mentioned his fellow tactless, godless, heathen friends for their behavior at this funeral. i wonder how the ever vigilant brad missed that one, or did he just not want to talk about it?

A Knight of Malta and the Illuminatti stooges show up for a lovefest for a woman and her husband who was constantly harassed and eventually murdered for critisizing the globalists. What some don't see in the mirror the rest of the world see's in plain view.

The behavior of the speakers was just fine. Anyone who interpreted quotes from the bible as Bush-bashing, is admitting guilt. If you say a quote from the Bible and people erupt in applause, and then rightwingers say the speaker was bashing Bush, then guess what? The BIBLE was bashing Bush! No one was bashing Bush, you idiots! It's your guilt!!!

Here's a rightwinger's interpretation of King's funeral:
"Did you see all those liberals get up and applaud, when that black reverend quoted the Bible on how we should be helping the poor? They were Bush-bashing!"

and here is a left wingers interpretation of the Bible.
"the Bible says in hilary 14:23 that abortion is fine, wiretapping is bad unless dems do it, and by the way, feminism rocks."
big dan, try reading the Bible before making such idiotic comments. i do not remember any wire tapping in the Old Testament. heck, i dont remember "wire" in the Good Book at all.
i was reffering to carter, mainly, and his comments were deplorable. even clinton kept it together, what was up with carter?!
oh well, what else can you expect from a dem with a mike in his hand?

Popeye's thinking;
War=Mass death=OK
Abortion of unborn to protect womans life=death=not OK
Sheesh, what a hypocrite
Carter was talking about Democrats that did the wiretapping, you fool
Oh yeah, and Gonzo said at his hearing that Washington & Lincoln wiretapped too (with the key from Ben's kite) ?
Alberto is a moron too

floridiot, i like your name, it suits you.
did i say anything about abortions and womans lives being spared, no. you ASSumed. if you would like my veiws on such things, ask. otherwise, lets let the grown ups talk, son, would you?
and you call me a fool saying carter, as far left a liberal as you can get, was attacking someone in his own party about wiretapping years ago? if you truly beleive that your are dumber than your name suggests. he took a cheap shot at a sitting president. no other president has ever done that. and to use a funeral as a platform was horrible. if bush would have done the same you would never have let it go, admit it. but someone attacking carter, thats a'ight.
and you call me a hypocrite.

Back then popaye, Carter was a right wing Dem, a business owner, that shows you how far this country has moved to the right since then
Joe McCarthy is not the center of American politics, you better do some re-thinking before you spew here
"Godless heathens" puts you right in that catagory I mentioned above
I'll stand with my opinion

Oprah is always soooo appropriate...we are very proud of her and the strides she has made in her career and life...keep up the excellent work, Oprah!
Coretta Scott King will always be remembered for her courage and strength as an awesome public figure for social justice. It would be phenomenal is Oprah did a show highlighting the life of Mrs. King through the eyes of her children, only. This helps us to maintain the family's modern day perspective of the Civil Rights Movement...please pass along to the Oprah Winfrey program handlers.
Thank you,

right wing democrat?
he might have been, but not any more. and i stand by my comment, you are still an idiot. Joe McCarthy is not the center of politics, and neither is Carter. the fact remains, Carter should have left the politics at the door. for crying out loud, using a funeral as a political podium is horrible. at least make those comments outside to the press. he could have waited a few minutes for that. how would you like it if someone went to a funeral of a loved one and started grandstanding just because the cameras were there? have some respect for the dead. sheesh.
he can say anything he wants, i am taking issue with the vehicle he choose.

btw,
mainly your an idiot for the "Carter was talking about Democrats that did the wiretapping" comment.

Go eat your spinach popeye, your brain is not functioning well.
The handle "Floridiot" is a play on the debacle that took place in Florida in '00, lest we forget.
