Medium Left. Why not stick to the subject of a thread and then people will think you are aware of where you are and what the topic is.
Nevertheless, so I don't do a Scottie McClellan on you, here is my OT response.
It is not a crime to be Rush or to be Hillary. It is not a crime to mistakenly compare Hillary to Rush.
It is a crime to use drugs criminally like Rush did. It is not a crime to believe and follow a drug crazed lame like Rush, as you do ML.
So the fact that Hillary has not been addicted to prescription drugs seperates her from Rush, and makes Cindy's comparison inaccurate.
Inaccuracy is not a crime, it is a human trait. Those who do not make mistakes, like Bush, are not human. Or they are liars.
Also Hillary, even tho very few of us want her president, is not hypocritical to the point of being unethical, like Rush is. He, while a drug addict, said drug addicts should be shipped you know where.
So we addressed it for you ML. Whoopie do.
Now to the topic at hand. I do not think Huffington did a good job of explaining the crime that the Bush Cheney white house is covering up.
Basically the Bush Cheney white house outed the identity of a CIA agent who was covert, which is a federal crime. They worked together to do so, thus, there is also a criminal conspiracy which is also an indictable offense under the statute. They also tried to cover it up, from Scottie who lied and said "Rove had nothing to do with it" and the MSM believed his lie. Just like all the other lies he and the white house he belongs to does. Those could be crimes.
Whether the agent worked at a desk or not, worked in another nation or not, or whether her exact name or part of it was revealed or not, are all irrelevant. If she was identified it was a crime.
Also, whether they did it with malice or not is irrelevant also. All that is required is that they knew what they were doing. When it comes to crime they know what they are doing.
Even tho they don't know what they are doing when it comes to honest and beneficial government.

Dredd,
Well-said indeed.
And allow me to 'second' your statement that
"...very few of us want her [Hillary] president..."
Anyone who chooses to focus on violence in video games while ignoring the fact that her country is going down in flames due to corruption, crime & cronyism has certainly lost MY vote. Oh, I forgot. They don't count the votes anyway, Hill, so why bother, honey?

O/T Alert!!
Here's an interesting bit of Eagle-Eye detective work that show an interesting ploy by newspapers.
Cookie-cutter Bush propaganda editorials
[snip] Friday, October 21, 2005
[UPDATE: the editorial-o-matic author is identified!]
Chris Kromm at Facing South is right to wonder about the origin of several editorials that contain the same following paragraph:
One of the smartest things President Bush did to reduce recovery costs in the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita was to suspend Davis-Bacon Act rules in the hardest hit states. But Congress is frantically trying to overrule the president, which would add billions of dollars to the already staggering recovery costs.
The almost-identical editorials appear in:
* Appeal-Democrat (Marysville-Yuba City, California)
* Daily News (Jacksonville, NC)
* The Free Press (Kinston, NC)
* Gazette.com (Colorado Springs)
As Chris notes, these are presented as unsigned editorials, which the reader will assume is a paper's original opinion piece - and the Colorado paper's headline on the "editorial" is "Our View."
The Bush propaganda to drive worker's wages down in the Gulf Coast is incredible; the editors of these newspapers are tools of the machine.
***
UPDATE: and it's hacktacular: The cookie cutter editorial writer decloaks.
Facing South's comments are peppered with links to additional papers running variations on the editorial. This is something Keith Olbermann should be taking a look at.
The author of the editorial-o-matic is Sean Paige, editorial page editor of the Colorado Springs Gazette. Who is this dude? He's right out of the GOP machine...From Sourcewatch:
From his bio at CEI.
According to a brief biographical profile supplied to the National Journalism Center, Paige attended a course in summer 1988 and has subsequently been "editorial page editor, Colorado Springs Gazette-Telegraph, reporter, Insight, editor, WasteWatch (DC), staff assistant for communications, White House, analyst, Media Research Center, Warren Brookes fellow, Competitive Enterprise Institute, director of press relations, Citizens Against Government Waste, press assistant, Representative Robert Lagomarsino, press secretary, Keyes for Senate [Oh gawd.], published in Chicago Tribune ,Wall Street Journal, the Weekly Standard, Washington Times".
You also might want to check out this 2002 Public Eye article from the Colorado Springs Independent on Sean Paige, written as he was coming on board at The Gazette: [snip]
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Follow my link to the site and from there follow the many other links. This is interesting. All the editorials have different titles !!
As for what's going on in Louisiana in the aftermath of Katrina with construction:
Immigrants detained at Katrina job site --- workers may be in country illegally
[snip] Landrieu wrote to ICE after receiving complaints that 75 Louisiana electricians hired to help put together a tent city at the Naval Air Station had been replaced by workers willing to work for less money. The Louisiana workers had questioned whether the replacements were in the United States legally.
The work on the tent city was being done by a BE&K, a contractor based in Birmingham, Ala. The company had been awarded the work by Texas-based Halliburton Corp., which has a contract to repair military bases damaged by Hurricane Katrina, according to Landrieu's office.
"It is a downright shame that any contractor would use this tragedy as an opportunity to line his pockets by breaking the law and hiring a low-skilled, low-wage and illegal work force," Landrieu said.
On Wednesday, a BE&K spokeswoman insisted the company is careful to check the immigration status of all employees. There was no answer at company headquarters Thursday evening. [snip]
There are a lot of interesting text portions showing up in a lot of places.
Stewart of the Daily show provided several talks by bu$hit over the years when he is appointing someone to an office, where he repeatedly says "I have known [him/her] for over ten years ..." like he did with Meirs.
The centralization of "thought" (text) and its distribution like a canned product is probably at the center of it.
The Plame thing is also probably the result of such centralization of "thought" processes.
Dredd,
fter either the 2nd or 3rd debate between bu$h & Kerry in 2004, my husband and I noticed something like the "cookie-cutter propaganda" happening. We were listening to the media who covered the debate and their "take" on what had just been said.
I can't remember exactly what Kerry said now, but my husband and I were shocked to hear the media spokesperson misquoting Kerry - very obviously to us. We quickly changed the channel and were even more shocked to hear the exact misquote again - from a different person. We flipped channels and on every one they were using the same misquote of Kerry's words.
It was as if all these media spokespersons were getting a feed of information from one source. That was the first time I remember noticing that kind of thing happening.
Well --- I guess this is a sign of propaganda on the march.
Oo-Oo-Oooo! Anybody read this one yet?
Karl and Scooter's Excellent Adventure by Frank Rich
From Mindbender website:
Frank Rich returns to the subject he examined last week. Why did Rove and Libby go to such extraordinary lengths to take down a bit player like Joseph Wilson in order to protect the 'reasons' for going to war on Iraq?
Frank Rich writes:
...and for Libby and Cheney to get what they wanted most, a war in Iraq for reasons predating 9/11, their real whys for going to war had to be replaced by fictional, more salable ones.
We wouldn't be invading Iraq to further Rovian domestic politics or neocon ideology; we'd be doing so instead because there was a direct connection between Saddam and Al Qaeda and because Saddam was on the verge of attacking America with nuclear weapons.
The facts and intelligence had to be fixed to create these whys; any contradictory evidence had to be dismissed or suppressed.
So, there it is. The Big Lie was created. The Great 21st Century Fable. Frank Rich is by no means the first journo to reach this conclusion. It has already been exhaustively covered on the web.
The interesting thing about Frank Rich's article is that now 'The Big Lie' has been exposed in a mainstream medium. About time too.
..... Read the article (linked above).
HOW DID WE GET IN THIS MESS - U-ALL - ?
from the ( Re-Written) DECLARATION of INDEPENDENCE
by RogerART.com
First Published in Feb, 2001
.
To PROVE that MILLIONAIRES, in disproportionate numbers to the US Population,
have Monopolized and bought the Government…
Compare the numbers below.
Approximately 286 million people make up the American Population.
280 MILLION PEOPLE have LESS THAN ONE MILLION DOLLARS.
6 MILLION PEOPLE have MORE THAN ONE MILLION DOLLARS.
Yet in the bush family government most are MULTIMILLIONAIRES.
Comparing these numbers is proof and confirms that
Millionaires Overwhelm, WE the PEOPLE, in the Executive, Judicial and Legislative branches of Government
And this is criminal.
BUSH is a MULTI-MILLIONAIRE and part of a MULTI-MILLION Dollar Family Political Business
CHENEY is a MULTI-MILLIONAIRE and OIL WAR PROFITEER with serious energy conflict of interests
MOST ALL of the bush CABINET and APPOINTEES are MULTI-MILLIONAIRES
6 of the 9 SUPREME COURT JUSTICES are MILLIONAIRES
MORE THAN 100 people in the HOUSE and SENATE are MILLIONAIRES
The Numbers above Confirm that there is a
Conspiracy in America Today.
Treason has Occurred
and
the FIX is in…
Thank you RogerART! That's a great post and you have some excellent links to follow at your site. One is the petition by Kucinich to DEMAND documents from the WHIG (White House Iraq Group) ---
Should Congress Demand Documents from the White House Iraq Group?
I urge you to cosponsor the Resolution of Inquiry introduced by Congressman Dennis Kucinich to demand that the White House turn over all white papers, minutes, notes, emails or other communications kept by the White House Iraq Group (WHIG).
This group worked to sell the war to the public and Congress using exaggerated and falsified claims. It is time for Congress to fulfill its oversight responsibility. Congress has a right to know. The citizens of this country have a right to know.
Even with the MSM fully in propaganda mode, in bed with the admin, and even with the FBI in full spy-on-americans mode (link here) where those americans must go thru a secret court (link here), the bu$hit fascist regime has not convinced americans. The polls prove that.
Nor have the bu$hit fascists convinced sane republicans. The Meir catastrophic success proves that.
Commenting on the video up with Leher and Huffington on "Plamegate".
First, they are talking as though Valerie Plume was a spy when her identity was revealed- she hasn't been a spy for what- five years?
Second, they make it sound as though to get back at Wilson for his article they said, "His wife is a spy!!" Like they were trying to endanger his wife in a foreign hostile country while undercover.
What they did was say, "Wilson wasn't exactly an objective source. He had his wife send him so he would have an opportunity to make his case against a war he opposed."
You should probably tell the CIA your allegation that Plame/Wilson "hasn't been a spy for what - five years?"
They would like to know that so they can get back the money for paying her, and retract their request that a criminal investigation be conducted to find and prosecute anyone who "outed" her.
Citizens like you have a duty to tell the CIA these things so they don't waste money by paying her, and don't appoint special prosecutors to spend two years investigating.
If you call the CIA and Fitzgerald and they laugh at you let us know and we will tell Bill and Huffie about it.
First of all She WAS a covert agent.
Second: Wilson was picked for the mission by senior CIA officials because of his experience based on his prior mission in 1999. The 1999 mission was suggested by his wife, not the 2002 mission.
Side Issue in the Plame Case: Who Sent Her Spouse to Africa?
Whitehouse officials leaked false info to reporters that she wasn't a covert agent and that she sent him. This false info became the "Official Story" as far as the MSM was concerned.
The CIA originaly called for the investigation based on the fact that a coverrt agent had been outed. They have maintained their position on her level of secrecy and the initiation of the mission since day 1.
Have ourselves A Merry Little Fitzmas,
Make our nation right,
From now on
The WHIGs will all be in plain sight.
Have ourselves A Merry Little Fitzmas,
Make those bastards pay.
From now on
Indictments will have made our day.
Here we are, charges coming soon,
The Grand Jury's tune will roar.
Rule of law once so dear to us
Gathers near to us once more.
Through the years
They all will be together,
If Club Fed allows.
We could hang them all from just the highest boughs.
But have ourselves A Merry Little Fitzmas now.
We cannot complain if only Rove and Libby are indicted.
Especially if Fitzgerald asks for more than what the Grand Jury returns.
There is a lot of ignorance about grand jury processes and authority. The grand jury is the boss and Fitzgerald is not. They can return indictments or not. No matter what he says.
On the other hand if he does not ask for what he reasonably could, only then do we have a different scenario.
