Is it possible that Brad Friedman and Dick Cheney are one and the same person? Has Dick been purging his conscience by working behind the scenes to expose election fraud in 2000 and 2004?
I only ask this because I've never seen Dick and Brad together, and also because they both are reported to be in undisclosed locations quite a bit.

This is from Friday nights PBS show "NOW"
The moderator then asked what he meant by the oral sex item. Kurt explaind that it seemed to be the only thing left that would cause an impeachment. (This comment was not specific to Bush, but rather to politicians in general)
He also went on to say we have a 2 party system. The winners and the losers. The winners are made of two groups. The Republicans and the Democrats. The losers are the rest of us.
In reference to Kurt's war record - he was a Prisoner of war in Dresden Germany, WW II, during the bombing which turned the entire city into a fire ball. The prisoners were held underground in cellars and were among the few who survived. Kurt's book Slaughterhouse 5 was based partialy on his experiences during the war. Slaughterhouse 5 is the building in which he was held.

Lemmethink_Not - that is horrible news. I'm so angry and sad hearing all this blundering. It's so sad to think some people, who can barely afford to live themselves, donate their prescious dollars. The thought of the elementary schools holding bake sales, or a little girl working a lemonaide stand, working so hard, just to turn over the money for things like this is very depressing.

The Bush appointments continue to show the failures caused by lack of experience. Lack of planning. Lack of common sense. These latest choices of his friends and personal lawyer to the supreme court show how he's trying to stack the deck for protection against his own legal actions later. The fact our elected whores in Washington are unwilling to do anything to help us, just kills me. They should all be up there listed as a waste too. With very few exceptions, they know they're on their last term too and are up his ass to the end, like a herd of wounded buffalo. No shame, no heart, no loyalty to us, the common people. Just that prescious bank account they have and their perks.
(talk about running with an open forum....lol) I started a poem back when my son was in Iraq the first time and I have added to it recently. Just need to wrap it up, somehow. It is not completed yet. He's just weeks away from going back now, it's getting close and I'm getting those horrible feelings again ( Wanted to know what you guys honestly thought. I can take it. Just wondering if there are any mothers or fathers out there, with children involved, that can relate any.
I sit here now, with tears in my eyes
As my son fights through another day
Glancing at news, fighting the blues
Searching for something to say
I sit here now, with my paper and pen
So proud of the man he became
Wanting to write, trying each night
Overcome by emotions and blame
I sit here now, with guilt on my mind
For it's my generation you see

Medium Right wants the blogosphere to focus on a case THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN COMPLETED.
Sandy Burger was found guilty. The case is over. If it had been shoved under the rug, he'd be right that it should be discussed. It wasn't shoved under the rug. Sandy Burger has been dealt with by the system.
Karl Rove has not been (but stay tuned). Robert Novak has not. Scooter Libby has not, nor Bolton, nor Gannon, nor Cheney, nor anyone else involved in retaliating against Joseph Wilson. Why is that so hard for Medium Right to comprehend?

I can't get my friends to understand the folly of ignorance. They don't want to be streesed out by anymore then they already have on their plates. I just can't fathom that rationale.I'm 1 of 4 close friends and the only one who is concerned with the way this country is headed. I am sick of people saying their only one person and theres nothing they can do about it,but refuse to educate themselves on the subject. Hang in there,we're all behind you and your son. They you for your service to our country.

Concerned #8...you are right it is horrible news,however we do need more people to come forward,tell of all the blundering,and to stop participating(in the blunder), we need to be able to prosecute the azzholz that participate in the stupidity (spending non-accountability) that has been running rampant in this country for so long. How is it that our elected are providing for the 'general welfare' when they are constantly putting the general population further and further in debt every day by all this uncontrolled spending? We need to impeach every damn one of them that don't tow the line and "Defend the constitution" as per their oath of office (not interprit or twist it to their way of thinking)..........

#20 Laura, my son is draft age also as are all his friends. This war has created a major divide in friendships, families, all kinds of relationships. Two of his friends are in the service and I don't really know how to talk to their families. I am so against this whole travesty and want these kids out of there. This is not a video game they are playing now. The saddest part IMO is the fact that so many have been taken in by the 'brainwashing' and they really believe they are fighting for a Noble Cause. A Concerned Citizen is such as asset to this site because she is a Mom who can see what is happening and shows that it is okay to have a child in the war and still see it for what it is. Many parents accept the use of their children as cannon fodder and scream at anyone who sees the Lie and denounce this obscene war. Personally I don't believe any of these kids originally joined the service to protect corporate interests ('American' interests as bush calls it). I don't know about the ones that joined post 911. I often wonder what their motivation was and did they come from bushes base. (I also recognize 'it's the economy' etc., we have a great percentage of unemployed kids, still living at home, very depressed, suicidal..which opens another can of worms....one I won't go into with this comment).
I for one, did not become politically aware until I was 29. Many of these kids did not have the knowledge it has taken me years to acquire. I can't blame them for that. I do blame the families that encouraged them to enlist, but perhaps they bought the Lie as well. I don't understand why the Vets of Viet Nam want their children to experience the horror they went through. This society I live in gets stranger by the day. I don't recognize America anymore.
Regarding your being 1 out of 4, well that is at least 25%. That is a good thing. I find myself moving further away from those people in my life. I feel such an urgency right now. Our Country is in it's death throes and a geat number of people are seeing it, fighting for our very freedom here in this Country, as evidenced by this blog and others. You have friends here. You are not alone. M4

These kids enlisted without encoruagement from their familues - I know 3 kids who wanted to go. They can make up their own minds. Two of them come from rich familues and are educated.

One amazing thing to think about is that even if you believe that recent elections in the US have not been shams and that our leaders really are our elected reps. and even if you believe that our media are not corrupted by Big Money control, the fact remains that decisions our government makes have gigantically disproportional affects on the world, so in affect, our leaders are unelected leaders of the world.
Our foreign policy and especially our military policy is the world's business.

Well, Paul slinks back out from under his rock to disparage without really saying much.. that's funny (in a "wow, some Americans suck sooo bad" kind of way).
And the POINT about "draft age" is that there are still rumblings of a new draft (well, last I heard about a month ago or so..). The current position seems to NOT bring the draft back, but with these psychos in office, who knows.
Not to hijack what's become a "war" thread, but here's some more interesting info incase you didn't already know that "the haves want more and don't want to pay taxes on it".... which will -also- benifit a smaller (and richer) group of Americans, instead of helping the populace in general.
They have been pushing for no more estate tax .. was imposed on estates over 3.5 mil for individuals (75% or more of Americans will never have an "estate" worth anything near that) and they are trying to remove it completely. Now we have people who want to leech off the rest of us (the stock market for the upper middle class is all about "free money", isn't it?) going to be tossed a bone, and the richest 10% who makes billions on the market, they are gonna pay LESS in taxes.. nice.. So, another break to the tp 30% or so (with, I'd guess 90% of that bennifit going to less than 10% of the population) that the REST of us have to absorb some how. This in the face of discussions of REMOVING the deduction of interest (which is profit for the bank) on mortgages.. MORE burden on the "average joe".. fun!
Try defending how Republicans (almost all, and way too many Dems now too) keep pushing wealth UP and AWAY from the masses.. First, read the bit from the Constitution where the Government is to proved for the GENERAL WELFARE.. not just their rich white friends.. ("We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America").. I see no "make rich folks richer on the backs of the masses" in there.. do you?

Oh, and to say "there won't be [another draft]" is to admit you aren't paying attention. It's currently "unlikely", but the -fact- that politicians are talking about it makes it a "real possibility".

You cannot compare the above with joining the military. No one volunteers to be a coke addict!
My first cousin is in a cult in Washington State. She is raising her kids in the cult (RAMTHA). Should I go kidnap her and de-program her? I'd like to but she is 45 and it is her choice. If she were a crack head, I could get the kids taken away from her and get her into rehab.
A good friend had two sons. One died at age 16 due to born with cerebral palsy. The other just decided to join the Marines. He only has one son so of course he would rather his son not join. But, it is his son's decision and he will be proud of him.
Your views on our military, our president, this war or any war, may not be the same views as your other family members so it really is none of your business.

"We" listen to facts (well, "I" do) and adjust our stance based on those facts.. when someone refuses to take into account all relavant info and discount lies and deception, they are lost.. 1/2 truths don't make an argument right (not everyone in a family feels the same way about "war" and the like.. doesn't mean it's not MY business when MY brother wants to make a very bad choice.. though, we don't have any sheep or blind (metaphorically) people in my family.. so there's no worry about them running off to kill human beings over an illegal invasion).

#29 Savanster...Bravo, I agree......and did anyone notice that it never mentioned "specific welfare"...yet it still happens (imminent domain cases in favor of private corporations etc.)........ kinda like the "seperation of church and state" twist on the 1st amendment, I don't recall any time in history that there has been any law trying to "establish" a "religon" in this country (other than athesism) and if your children want to pray in school more power to them .........we have way to many folks in this country falling under some form of corporate or martime law because of some piece of paper that they signed at some time in their lives which limits their god given rights or thinking that they can't do anything about this or that because some MSM attorney purposely asks the wrong question of the court to get the answer he was looking for.....we all need to be educated in so many ways....sorry i'm on a soap box.... if fuel prices keep going like they are we will have a whole new look at the meaning of poverty (when it costs almost as much as a house payment to get 2 people back and forth to work every month) there will most likley by hell to pay if things go anything like the Katrina incident because not many people in this country know how to conduct themselves....the terrorists are probably looking at the big cluster f**k from Katrina and enjoying the thought of causing more chaos after the way we handled that one ..............

How's this for "law trying to establish a [prefered or accepted] religion? Only "Christians" (and their closest neighbors, Jews) get to "pray" at a COUNTY meeting? Uh.. NO ONE should be praying at a meeting, ever.. As you pointed out.. "if you kid wants to pray", great.. but I promise.. if during "prayer" my kid stars praying to "the creator" and praising "mother nature", my kid is gonna get shut down.. -that- is part of what is wrong with Government having -anything- to do with religion.. Most people get stuck on "prodestant, lutheran, methodist, catholic" etc.. but FORGET there are a LOT of 'religions" out there, and -all- are just as reasonable and valid as christianity.. therefore, -anything- "religious" should NOT be posted, said, depicted, referenced, or otherwise brought to bear during a GOVERNMENT -anything-.. period.. ever..
Course, Christians think that's not right.. They think it's ok to display the 10 commandments (Christian only) or have "God" mentioned in the Pledge (wasn't in the original version by the guy who wrote the damn thing) or on money. But, that's -exactly- the problem. it's a CHRISTIAN premise, and therefore "encourages one religion over another".
