It's too good to be true. I must be dreaming.
off topic: Our death with dignity act is in real danger here in Oregon. The new chief justice is really coming out to overturn the will of the good people of Oregon. The future of medical choice for the terminally ill is in danger. The outcome will rest on Sandra Day O'conner/Harriet Meir.

Jo.. I noticed that too.. first thing Roberts does when he hits the bench is yank rights away from states.. nice..
not only are we going to have to dump our entire current government, we'll have to dump our entire judiciary and perhaps... hmm.. elect people to the courts for their lifetime appointments?
Things are getting more and more scary.. Just read an articly where the Secret Service confiscated a school child's poster made for a "freedom of speach" project because someone at Wal-Mart called them.. the kid put a tack in the forehead of a picture of Bush, photographed it, and made a poster with it. Secret Service?? over a tack in shit-for-brains head?
we're so screwed unless things like Rove going down start happening a lot faster, and don't stop with Shrubby and his goons.. get all the corrupt pricks out now!

that's a mighty fine photo BB2,
and Reuters has this article up:
US officials brace for decisions in CIA leak case
the most telling part of the article is this:
Rove's attorney, Robert Luskin, declined to say whether his client had been contacted by Fitzgerald. In the past, Luskin has said that Rove was assured that he was not a target.
Libby's lawyer was not immediately available to comment.
"It's an ongoing investigation and we're fully cooperating," said Cheney spokeswoman Lea Anne McBride.
.
.
.
that's an awful lot of "no comments" from a usually vocal bunch.

Wonderful news. A lot of damage has been done, a TON of damage has been done in the past 5 years. Cuff them all. Any members of Congress or the Senate left after all the trials, we'll vote them out first chance we get. Rep or Dem. Either way, they're all through. Exit stage left.
Can't help but smile......justice is sooooo overdue. If in fact, we do actually get to see anyone hold this administration responsible for anything. I'm crossing my fingers.

I've seen people elsewhere ask about the 22 indictments. I think this pretty much sums it up:
"But a new theory about Fitzgerald's aim has emerged in recent weeks from two lawyers who have had extensive conversations with the prosecutor while representing witnesses in the case.
They surmise that Fitzgerald is considering whether he can bring charges of a criminal conspiracy perpetrated by a group of senior Bush administration officials. Under this legal tactic, Fitzgerald would attempt to establish that at least two or more officials agreed to take affirmative steps to discredit and retaliate against Wilson and leak sensitive government information about his wife. To prove a criminal conspiracy, the actions need not have been criminal, but conspirators must have had a criminal purpose."
From here.

If he does anything, we'll drop him like a can of worms. I highly doubt he'll do shit that makes a difference. Remember Cindy Sheehan? He was afraid to even MEET the woman!!! FOUR times!!!! He RAN away from her!
Hahahahahaha, this pathetic slimeball will probably be all talk, try to fire some missiles on someone and then be cuffed and gagged. That's how I see this all going now.

#18 Doug, I really hope you are right, but this cabal grows new appendages as quickly as one is cut off. This cabal is a giant octopus with global tentacles. We are not dealing with just the USA in this one. We are a bankrupt nation. We have no wealth. Our wealth is owned by foreign countries and the Lie about us being the richest country on earth is just that a LIE. If Saudi Arabia alone pulled their zillions out of our banks we would collapse. The only thing that saved us in the early 1900's was the depression, we then started building from the ground up. The depression only hurt the big guys (monetarily) then, now it hurts everyone that has their wealth built on 401k's (another part of the plan to transfer wealth, another Lie). Those that rely on the profits of the very corporations that are raping us and the people have been screaming about. The outsourcing brings big returns on the monthly statement, a little hypocrital me thinks. Have we been bought and sold, you betcha. Have I any hope....no, I have lost it. I am calling it for what it is, we have been Lied to since Country was founded and now it is falling apart because we the people believed the Lie. This great experiment in Democracy has failed and I am no longer willing to believe the LIE. We can rant and rave all we want about changing parties, regime change, indictments, and so on, but this is bigger than we can even imagine. I liken it to trying to conceive of what God is, and I can't. So there you have my rantings and my warnings are not for me, I do not fear this little man, he is scum and will receive his just award in due time but I do believe he is in his dying throes and will do anything in his power to save himself, the world be damned.

If it gets to the point where Bush would have the option of pardoning himself, he will have been so weakened politically that he'll have to resign. That's the situation Nixon was in. The pardon would keep him out of jail, but he'd be gone...speaking only for myself, that's a satisfactory outcome.
News flash...Senate votes 90-9 to conform rules about prisoner torture to previous military standard.
This, in the face of a promised veto by Bush. The weakening process has clearly begun.

"The human strain of avian influenza has killed 74 people since it was first reported in Hong Kong in 1997."
The inhumane neocon government has been responsible for the killing of over 15,000 people since it was lying to the nation about Iraq in 2001.
So far, a neocon government has proven to be over 400 times more deadly than bird flu... (and just as needlessly)... based on Iraqi deaths alone.

Yeah. M3, but the biggest bird brain in the world has good reason to fear the bird flu (I'm talking about the guy Miers called "the most brilliant man in I've ever met," paraphrasing Jill St. John's notorious claim that Henry Kissinger is "the sexiest man in the world" - absolute power corrupts absolutely, anyone?). I'm enough of an optimist to believe that one day we'll look back on this particular time as the most exciting tipping point in history. But we must not let those silver bullets go unfired, those oaken stakes go undriven. The beast is wounded, and we'll never again have as good a chance to drive out the swine. Just my opinion...

Really, Harriet Miers needs to get out more. There are smarter men than Bush closer than she might think...behind a fast-food counter, on the nearest elevator, judging horse shows, choosing news stories for CNN, tracking down Osama, and writing speeches for Senator Imhofe.

Usually, I can not listen to GWB speak. It is nauseating to hear the hissing in his voice. Today was no exception. The agressive tone was unrelenting in his global ambitions (or whoever is pulling the strings' ambitions.)
Question: Did anyone else hear him say something about reoganizing homeland security??
Again, his threats seem to resound. Had to turn off tv again.
Re Delay matters, they are still attacking the messenger (Earle).

M4.. I was watching History Channel (I think) and they were talking about the persistent bombardment of our planet by meteors and asteroids.. and how those bodies carry debri and, yes, potentially living material from deep space.. They found a meteor crash site with marsian material in it (they speculate it was a chunk of something that got kicked up from Mars during a hit there at some point). With something like that, new diseases may well be coming from outer space..
And for those that don't think our Gov. might do something like release a disease into our society, have you heard about the "free flu shots" and other vaccines given to our "poor people"? The vaccines given to children that have MERCURY as the preservative, and that is causing record levels of Autisim (sp) in our children? The mercury and other heavy metal poisoning in Tuna (and other 2nd tier fish) that we are eating every day? Do you have -any- idea how easy it would be for our Government to put some fully active, virulant, resistant strain of a virus into vaccine bottles and deliver them around the country? Something genetically engineered to have a specific cure that only "the right people" can get? Scray.. yes.. possible.. yes.. and with people who -honestly- believe they have more rights than the rest of us, who honestly believe they are BETTER than everyone else.. it becomes "likely" as well.. Remeber the Anthrax that was sent to some of our leaders? and how they are pretty sure it came from a U.S. Army lab?
And people roam around daily with no clue as to all the crap going on in the world.. 100s of millions of people have no idea about the evidence about Sept. 11, 2001.. Don't know that the Iraqi interim gov. tried to pull a fast one the other day and make it so their "U.S. influenced" constitution was put in place -regardless- of the outcome of the vote (they got busted trying to rig it.. ..read it from an article on Raw Story, don't remeber wich.. not followed up yet either). Northwood.. mentioned once on TV not all that long ago, but it's not being plastered all over the news (the -fact- that our Government was going to cheat us into a war way back then).. All the crimes with the first Iraq war in '91.. no one went to prison over that, so now Shrubman does the -same- crap that his dad did, with the help of Powell? why was he still in government?
While these indictments are the begining, I fear that the "war" that's been going on for many decades between the "we're rich because we deserve it and god wants it that way" and "all people are people, we have the same rights as you" is gonna finally reach it's head at some point. The people we're losing to don't play nice, that's why they are winning. If they have to kill a few million folks to continue sitting on top of the world, I don't know that they won't do it. They are content to abuse us day to day in the form of Corperate dominance of our lives.. it's turned into another form of slavery (with all this credit and debt and the like). Most of America lives on borrowed time and the options for avoiding that are getting less and less. Killing 10s of millions, then boating in a few million more from the Middle East/Asia/whereever (Christians only, thankyouverymuch) if they need some more workers isn't an issue for them. Once this country gets used up (and it's well on it's way), they will ship off to Europe and find some other compliant country to use for their own ends.

Fitzgerald may be hurrying up his indictments so that the criminals are exposed BEFORE Bush gets his crony lawyer on the Supreme Court. If Fitz waits til the end of the month, Mier may already be confirmed and sworn in, and then it's pardons all the way around. Bush would even pardon himself, if necessary (there's no rule against it), and the Court would validate him 5-4.

From Raw Story
"So Karl Rove is returning to testify before the grand jury investigating the outing of Valerie Plame, and he's doing so without any guarantee that Patrick Fitzgerald won't prosecute him. How big of a development is this?" asks SALON.COM's Tim Grieve. "Stunning," a former federal prosecutor told SALON.COM. "There is no reason for Rove to make this appearance unless he and his counsel believe he is at serious risk of indictment. None."
"It shows Fitzgerald now, perhaps after [Judith] Miller's testimony, suspects Rove may be in some way implicated in the revelation of Plame's identity or that Fitzgerald is investigating various people for obstruction of justice, false statements or perjury. That is the menu of risk for Rove."
It's possible, of course, that Rove is returning to the grand jury in the hope of saving someone other than himself. Conversely, it's also possible that he's testifying in the hope of implicating someone other than himself.
Very Interesting!

Oct. 6, 2005 — The New York Police Department is investigating what it deems a credible tip that 19 operatives have been deployed to the city to place bombs in the subway, and security in the subways will be increased, sources told ABC News.
While the police department is taking the threat seriously, it is also urging the public not to be alarmed because – while the source is credible – the information has not been verified.

Merifour #16: "The depression only hurt the big guys (monetarily) then"
That is a myth. Actually, the depression was an extremely successful wealth transfer tool. (A good description of this is in The Money Masters video.) The really "big guys" apparently knew exactly when the crash was going to occur. Their bios all mention that they had the "good luck" to have liquidated their assets ahead of time. A man whose father worked for Joe Kennedy is filmed describing how Joe Kennedy came to warn his father to sell his shares several months before the crash. By the end of the depression the "big guys" were much wealthier by a factor of 10 or more. (Presumably they picked up everyone else's assets for a song.)
The same video points out that wars are effective wealth transfer mechanisms for those who control central banks. They lend money to both sides in a war. Wars increase indebtedness. The folks who always win are the ones who lent the money to all sides, having created it out of thin air.
Most folks don't realize that's how money is created these days. While issues about central banks and creation of money used to be key factors in many presidential elections, nowadays people don't know much about it. They assume the Federal Reserve is run by the US government. They assume that "economic cycles" of growth and recession are natural and inevitable. There is little awareness nowadays of how global and national money supply is actually controlled.

#44 Catherine..you are right regarding the Stock Market Crash. I was trying to say in my post that those that lost money (jumping out of windows) thought they were in on the game. You are absolutely right that the market was manipulated to crash and it was about transfer of wealth. My point was in those days the average blow joe did not invest in the market, they had what little they had in 'savings accounts' does anyone remember those? Then the greedy ones came up with the 401K's to get any savings one had into the market. They lowered the interest on savings so low that it was hardly worth having one. When the time is ripe, a manufactured collapse ie: dot.coms, worldcom, enron, etc. And of course, Insider Trading, I can't even go there my post would go to long.
The next step is privatization of Social Security. Wall Street is foaming at the mouth on that one. Lets see how the evil one ACCOMPLISHES that MISSION. By Executive Order?, nothing will surprise me anymore and congress will probably applaud in the cloak room because they don't have to answer to their constituants and Wall Street and K Street will keep giving them their monthly stipends.
The Federal Reserve, you bet, another hoax on the American people. Nothing FEDERAL about it. Just a bunch of bankers getting together and controlling this nations money supply. Most people don't understand this and it is a research topic unto itself.
I agree totally with your post. I will add that video to the list of the ones I am trying to locate. It sounds like a very interesting documentary. M4

#34 Savantster I haven't read anything about the mars debris but am on the same page regarding the fact that I do not put it past this regime to infect certain parts of our country with biological toxins.
During the recovery efforts of the flight that went down in the Atlantic shortly after takeoff a few years ago ( I can't remember the name right now..Pan Am ???), I started recording on my trusty VCR. One witness described seeing several containers floating around stating poison..live aids virus. I still have the video. I have never heard it again. I don't remember where the shipment was headed but I wondered what on earth was going on then.
Then the outbreak a few years ago near Four Corners, the one carried by mice, when I looked in one of my books I found we have a biological weapons plant in that very area. What do they test this crap on.....well duh.
I agree, our air, food, and water are polluted. I guess that is what I don't understand about these subhumans. I understand they don't care about the 99% of us that aren't wealthy, but why can't they see ahead to their children's children. Do they really believe that 'rapture' crap? Do they really believe they are all going to disappear in a twinkling of an eye. Ohmigod. M4

#36 ThomNYC I understand the pedulum swings and do hope you are right in that is it beginning to swing the other way. I really hope the Liars and the Lie will be exposed. I just think in order for that to happen we must have a major paradign shift. Recognition by a great many people of the corruption. I also realize that I am contributing to the negativity by being 'in it'. I know what I must do to dig myself out, get focused, centered, think love and light, etc..etc..etc. Right now, today, I am angry. I am angry that we have been coerced into silence. I am angry that people don't have time to get involved, as has been discussed on this site before. People are just too busy trying to make ends meet, raise their families, pay their bills, work three jobs and the list goes on. When can they get an hour to go online to get news, it can't be fit in, so they listen to right wingers on the radio or watch the merry sunshine media at dinner and form their opinions. I know that schedule, I lived it. Thankfully I was aware that more was going on and looked to other sources. Thanks for your note and IMHO it's gonna get alot worse before it gets better. M4

Brad pointed out an interesting issue: "Some are wondering if these rumors could simply be a Rovian stunt to distract from other very real and very damaging news?"
My thought: Yes, and other distractions include the NYC alerts with too many holes in them to be believable; and their timing with the Congressional vote on DIA intelligence gathering looks like "the bigger issue."
Sometimes bad news today is good news tomorrow, but for whom? RNC may get thrown back a few steps, but unfetterd ability to engage in domestic surveillance beyond FOIA review might be worth the sacrifice.

...Merifour #47-- You asked: --- "The next step is privatization of Social Security. Wall Street is foaming at the mouth on that one. Lets see how the evil one ACCOMPLISHES that MISSION. By Executive Order?, nothing will surprise me anymore and congress will probably applaud in the cloak room because they don't have to answer to their constituants and Wall Street and K Street will keep giving them their monthly stipends."

ALERT: Republicans are perhaps going to slip private accounts into a pension bill. (Read & Sign for pension and against tampering with Social Security)

A quote from GWB in his National Endowment for Democracy speech today was pretty apropos to Karl Rove (well the whole administration actually)
"Evil men obsessed with ambition and unburdened by conscience must be taken very seriously, and we must stop them before their crimes can multiply".

In comparison to #60
"should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in out political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things. Among them are few other Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or business man from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid."

OK. He DID say it today! HERE IT IS!
"First, we're determined to prevent the attacks of terrorist network before they occur. We're REORGANIZING OUR GOVERNMENT to give this nation a broad and coordinated homeland defense. We're reforming our intelligence agency for the incredibly difficult task of tracking enemy activity, based on information that often comes in small fragments from widely scattered sources here and abroad. #58 Lindy..I missed your link, guess I was reading too fast, my mind racing. I will go take a look. I haven't seen much on that issue for awhile and thought it had been put on the backburner...stupid me. Of course it is still alive, wasn't that one of his promises if he won 2004..to reorganize S.S. He got so many people mad when they saw what he was doing that I guess he had to go 'underground' with the agenda. Will go there now and get caught up.
Also, will check out Bluebirds link #51. M4

#51 Bluebear, just took a look at the site you linked. Much of the material I have read regarding the Christian bible has always mentioned that fact the the Book of Revelation is so odd that it is a wonder it was ever chosen to be in the bible. It is indeed full of symbolism, warnings, etc. I have read it several times, trying to comprehend the message it is trying to convey. I also know that nowhere in the bible is the word 'rapture' used. Some Christian zealot made up the term years ago and all of a sudden it was all about this so called 'rapture'. The evangelicalists grabbed the concept and used it to control their base with FEAR. I do not interpret bible literally. IMHO the book is a compilation of stories that have been going on for centuries and is choke full of symbolism. The book is written on many levels. All the great religions had their floods, virgin births, etc. These inclue the 200 'religions' older than Christianity. Well, am OT again, sorry bloggers. M4

We seem to share the same interpretation - parables and symbolism abound throughout.
I once worked with a Jahova's Witness who liked to discuss religion. He believed every storm, forest fire, earthquake etc. were signs of the end of time.
I could never figure out how he could enjoy life believing it would end tommorrow, or believing in a God who was so vengeful.
In the same vein as the suicide bombers etc. who don't value this life - only what is promised after.

Merifour, I don't know, as I have been really busy lately. But, look what they did today to get the vote on the energy bill which Brad reported on.
If they do slip the Social Security accounts along with the pension bill, the outcry will never stop, once it is discovered, and no one who approves it will be legitimately in office ever again!

CLOAK EXCLUSIVE!
by SHERMAN SKOLNICK, co-host

U.S. Nervous Breakdown!
U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales visited Special Prosecutor
yesterday, was shocked while examining 22 indictments from Federal
Grand Juries apparently including Bush himself. Gonzales swiftly
disqualified himself refusing Bush's order to on the spot firing
Patrick Fitzgerald. Justice Department second in command already
gone.
No one left to carry out Bush's order.
Today Bush ordered FBI to make fake Capitol "terrorist" scare to
force
evacuation. Democrats, however, refused to leave. Member of Joint
Chiefs of Staff says he wants to go to arrest Commander-in-Chief
Bush
for treason. But Bush loyalists in top Military brass threaten to
arrest brave senior General who is supported by an Admiral. Some in
military, nevertheless, ordering monopoly press to quickly "tell
the
truth now" or suffer dire consequences.
Also today, Federal Reserve Czar Greenspan ordered secret market
clamps to avoid panic including for Monday. Threatened with job
loss,
media whores ordered to stay silent as long as possible.
Bush claims we are "at war". If so, and if he is found guilty of
treason "during war-time", then his punishment is by hanging or
firing
squad. More coming. Stay tuned to Cloak and Dagger for more
breaking
news. www.cloakanddagger.de.
