I read them all.
All these new memos do an excellent job of exonerting Bush.
Thank you Rawstory for printing them.
Here I thought you were not interested in anything that supported Bush.
Thanks for posting them!!

A fomes is an object on which contagious disease may reside.
Trolls may not be contagious but it is best to be cautious.

They are now so blantantly flaunting their lies and scandals that even with the corporate controlled media behind them, they're going down.
Our constant letters, emails and the ever-growing and credible liberal/progressive blogosphere is making a difference. Although it's taking longer than if we had an actual "free" MSM, it's happening.
* snip from Brad's post on Sat. night's awesome show:
...A reminder that 27-year CIA Analyst, Ray McGovern, will be testifying at John Conyers' heaings on the Downing Street Minutes this Thursday, and they both request that we call C-SPAN and ask them to carry the hearings LIVE! Contact C-SPAN at (202) 737-3220 and via email at events@c-span.org.

The validity of the documents will become irrelevant to the neocons who are drunk. Drunk on power and their own rhetorical hypnotic disfunction.
Lets not forget that the fascist neocon admin now believes it is self-authenticating.
That is the only way it could wash its rhetoric leading up to the Iraq invasion. Some 237 lies have been documented by Rep. Waxman (link here).
The delusional state the neocon WH is entering now is that whatever they say is truth, and all else must be measured against what they say.
Anything that varies from their version is false, and anything complying is true.
What the american public believes has become irrelevant to the neocons.
No surprise, then, that the neocons are going DOWN in the polls.

One of their tactics is to appear like they are committed professionals doing their job. In that "getting the job done" it is hoped that all other considerations will be ignored. This is a tactic quite effective in the U.S. where "getting the job done" often trumps "why are we doing this?".
But they will soon learn, I believe, that there is a point where marketing loses its effectiveness. There is just too much dishonesty for them to juggle.

I am reposting a comment (with some additions) that I made on the post-show thread, read story and comments here
I am one of the people who suggested to Brad that we try to get together transcripts of the shows that could be posted on the BB and BR sites, to make them available for internet searches and citations. I think it would be a great thing to have these interviews, and the Brad Show, more widely noticed.
As you can see above, Brad can't organize this effort. I am organizationally-impaired, but I am a fast typist, and quick at editing Word documents, so I volunteer to do my bit on that account.
I thought that the interview with McGovern was particularly excellent, and this might be a great place to start this experiment. Is there anyone out there in the 6 or 7 who would be willing to organize this effort, and can post their email publically? But doesn't want to transcribe, isn't a fast typist, etc? I suggest dividing the McGovern interview up into 10 or 15 minute chunks, and have a different volunteer of the 6 or 7 transcribe each chunk, then email it to the organizer volunteer, who could then put it together as a full transcript (word document). If we settled beforehand on a few stylistic things then it would make the job of the organizer easier. In the meantime, I'll experiment with transcribing the McGovern interview from the top, ((typing it into Word) just to see how it goes.
Anyone else?

Kinsley's article has a very telling paragraph:
Of course, if "intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy," rather than vice versa, that is pretty good evidence of Bush's intentions, as well as a scandal in its own right. And we know now that this was true and a half. Fixing intelligence and facts to fit a desired policy is the Bush II governing style, especially concerning the war in Iraq.
He is pointing out that it is clear the Bush administration manufactures evidence to try to support its criminal activity, however he feels the memos and minutes are not proof.
Time will tell, but caution is advised.

Raw Story has a telling timeline (link here).
Only the reality challenged could muster up enough bu$hit to ignore the loud and clear message that the Iraq war was planned long, long ago.
The timeline/link mentioned above has a quote from Bu$h in early primary debates where he says he would "take out" Iraq WMD and Sadaam. That was before he was president.

Sorry if this is OT --- this just in from True Majority:
Freedom to Read Act
The Freedom to Read Act
When the "Patriot Act" was first passed just six weeks after the attacks of 9/11 it included several provisions that were, well, un-American. One of the worst allows the government to go before a secret court to get a secret subpoena to access just about any records they want from libraries and bookstores to find out who's reading what. Included in the subpoenas is a gag order for the librarians and booksellers that threatens them with jail time if they tell anyone (you, for example) about the search. And because of the secrecy and gag orders these subpoenas can never be challenged because the victims don't know about them and the librarians and booksellers can't talk about them.
Please take a moment to join with the American Booksellers Association and the American Library Association in telling your Congressmember to support the Freedom to Read Protection Act, which would roll back this destruction of one of our fundamental American rights.

George W. Bush waged war on Iraq because, in his own words, God "instructed me to strike at Saddam." And this is on record. I am not making this up.
The guy is clinically dillusional. He in his own words is talking to "god". He is suffering from Schizophrenia. So was Hitler. What is the congress doing? What are the 300 million Americans doing? The President of United States of America is insane. He will fix intelligence reports because God told him. He will instruct to tamper the voting machines because god wants him to remain as the President of United States of America and so will be a long list.
He is now directing the greatest military power in the history of the world. There can be no doubt that Bush believes literally in the divine character of his mission. He believes that whatever "decision" forms in his brain, out of the flux and flow of his own, emotional impulses and biochemical reactions --- has been planted there by God Almighty.
When you talk to God it is 'Prayer'. When God talks to you it is 'Schizophrenia'. It is a deadly mental disease. Google "Schizophrenia+God".
Wake up America! When insane people have unjustified power the results can be catastrophic!!

I'd be happy to help with this. I'll either type up sections of the interview or put together all the sections. If I understand what you're suggesting - each of 6 or 7 of us take a 15 min. chunk of the interview and type it up in a word document with agreed upon formatting, then all the docs are sent to someone to put them together into one doc. Yes?
Question - can you "stop" the audio as you're typing like you do with a recorder? I used to be a fast typer but my skills are rusty I'm afraid!
Maybe there's a better way to do this that someone who's more computer saavy could suggest?

Hey Vally G. & Jen
I had almost started the McGovern section to transcribe earlier. I'm crunched for time, but I'm a fast typist. If someone would divide up the programs into the 15 minute segments --- (is this only interview time minus the adverts?) --- and post them so people can take blocks not spoken for --- I'm happy to oblige.

I understand the reluctance to get excited. The only way impeachment will happen in a republican controlled congress is if the evidence becomes so overwhelming that even they can't run from the outrage of it and are forced by their love of their own skin to begin investigations. Some are already backtracking, and you can see them getting a little desperate like what Senselessbrenner did the other day. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed and emailing and calling like all you guys. We just have to keep the faith, and if all else fails we can still open up a can of revolution on their asses.

Jen, if you are willing to coordinate this, that would be great!!! If we can get a few more on board, you wouldn't have to do any typing, just organizing the individual text of the McGovern interview. Also see Kira #26- sounds like she is also willing to type if someone else (you?) would agree to divide things up and organize the thing.
I played the MP3 file and taped as it was being "broadcast" with a hand-held tape recorder. I figured that that would be easier to rewind a tape than to mess with the MP3 files. Also, I have a $30 Sony "clear voice walkman" that allows playback at variable speeds, so I figured that I would just slow down the playback to make it a bit easier to transcribe.
Kira #26
Yes, we are on the same wavelength! Twilight zone. Of course I meant the parts of the interview only, not the commercials. If Jen is will to oblige in receiving our transcripts, and put them together in a word document, then we will have a start. I asked for someone to coordinate who was willing to have a public email, because it seemed that it would be best to have someone put the whole thing together, before posting. I don't know exactly where the commercials etc. break, but howsa bout I start on the first 15 mins of the McGovern interview, and you start on the second 15 minutes (interview ONLY), and we can check back on this thread in a few days to see how we're doing.
I read a transcribed interview with Woodward shortly after the DT story broke, and the format was basically:
INTERVIEWER: .......
WOODWARD: .....,
so this would be:
FRIEDMAN: We have breaking news about the DSM...
MCGOVERN: And not only that...the CIA wouldn't kill anyone, but they might wreck their careers...Palme...
If you are good at Word, especially in using the "find and replace" function, it is easy to use abbrevs while typing (FRI, MCG) and then edit all of them later. Speeds things up.
Thanks U2 for responding to this "wild" idea

#30, 31, etc. If the administration's popularity continues to fall as the truth of its nature and policies sinks in, there will come a point where it will be difficult to govern and that's not a good situation for a lot of people and groups in the nation. (It is probably one reason for the wimp Democrat position.) Something will happen. (The word "bandwagon" comes to mind.)
One of our big challenges will be to avoid the "fall guy" scenario. In fact, it will be a huge challenge as there is always the tendency to want to get it over with and back to the fantasy of normality. The fall guy is the proven strategy of crooks.
It might drag on until after 2006. It's not relevant as to what we are doing. As long as we stay on target, continue to *progressively* build our case (we have so much to work with!), disseminate information widely, be creative, and form a true community we will be in a strong position when the time of "regime change" comes to initiate a renaissance of freedom and a reality-based political and civic structure. Honestly, the key is to stay on target, build community, and DON"T GIVE UP. It will bear results.
My political pep talk of the day.

Couldn't be sure when I checked out your blogspot. I have a colleague whose parents both were/are deaf. His father (~91) is still living. All, delightful upbeat people. I do realize that I should have consulted View/Source. But that trail has seemed iffy. I'll utilize it in future!
Thanks again.
Kira et. al. -
You're fantastically wonderful patriots. Keep up the pressure.
ALL of you desperate people: there is only one way to change the present state of affairs - by keeping on keeping on! We have GOT to win. The earth is at stake and our souls.

#55, Peg C
2 bills were introduced in Jan & Feb. 2003 (gee - I'm just hearing about it) by --- dum-dum-dee-dum drum rooollll --- 8 representatives ... 6 of them Democrats. Now what's wrong with this picture????
Worrisome Move To Remove Presidential Term Limit from Constitution
This is very troubling. In recent months two proposals have been introduced to the House of Representatives to amend the Consitution of the United States and repeal the 22nd amendment. The 22nd amendment was put place to limit the number of times a president could be in office to two terms.
The first, HJRES 11 IH, was introduced on January 7, 2003 by Representative Serrano. On February 25, 2003 HJ 25 IH was introduced. These appear to be identical. The latter proposed amendment has 7 sponsors.
It is interesting to note that of the 8 representatives who sponsored the two proposal, 6 are democrats.
Mr. HOYER - Democrat
Mr. HYDE - Republican
Mr. FRANK of Massachusetts - Democrat
Mr. SENSENBRENNER - Republican
Mr. BERMAN - Democrat
Mr. SABO - Democrat
Mr. PALLONE - Democrat
Mr. SERRANO - Democrat
====================
Should we research those 6 reps.?

The 6 memos/letters have been around since at least the 18th September 2004 (As far as I have determined so far) where they were reported on by the UK Daily Telegraph.
Michael Lewis produced a thorough analysis of these 6 docs back in October 2004.
Various UK blogs and indymedia, have been dicussing them since then.

Yes, that appeal ammendment is truly frightening. I can not believe Sensenbrenner would write that bill. If those democrats did it, they are not really democrats. They are fascist neo-imperialists who need to be brought to justice.
I am sorry, but nobody destroys our constitution and tries to appoint a lifetime president. This is out of control and must be held to the fire.

All the media coverage on this is like this. "It broke in the British papers but had no attention in the U.S"
"The liberal blogs", "the left". They report it as if maybe it's news and it is acually from the left/liberals.
Simply PATHETIC!
I am happy that it is finally being reported but man oh man how lame is the media?

For Mark: It was big news in Britain, and had a major impact on their election. That's a fact, whatever one's view of the content of the minutes. For our mainstream media to have essentially ignored this story means that a matter involving Anglo-American relations, and discussions between the leaders of the two countries about a war that has cost tens of thousands of lives, was of historic importance in England but of no importance here.
Yes, our mainstream media are comatose. It's just as irresponsible as it would have been to censor a story about Lend-Lease in 1940, or about the conversations between April Glaspie and Saddam Hussein before the first Persian Gulf War.

Hey VG and Jen:
I'm still working on my "half." I'm taking a little time off from politics. I've got 3 pages done, but there's lots more I think.
Also, I can't make out a few words. I wonder if someone would like to do the "clean up" phase?

Kira, I can do that. Or TRY! LOL! Listen to the audio as I read your transcript. I'm an "old" school proof-reader - worked at a typesetting and graphic design shop before things went desktop so it's actually right up my alley!
