Then again, maybe it's about time we had it out with these assholes. I mean, seriously, if we are two Americas now, and there's no healing to be had (and I'm not sure I want any either)...I'm a bleeding heart liberal and I wear it on my sleeve, but I will defend my country from enemies foreign and domestic. Prefer to do it without violence, and through the established legal system, but if these nutsacks get hairy, who knows?

They only come out of their hole during Dem. admins. Or did we forget about Clintons time in office?

Next time you're around some of these tea (carpet) baggers, ask them if they ever heard of the School of the Americas (WHINSEC) and why they weren't down there protesting?
I'll bet they never heard of it, fuking phony patriots is what they are.

Brad,
How do you reconcile your fabulous Sibel Edmunds coverage with this kind of boilerplate, kneejerk idiocy? Please stop reifying the left/right paradigm in such Duplo Lego-ways. Forget the wikileaks 9/11 pager-dump and checkout the IPCC emails: guess what? global warming? HIGHLY DUBIOUS. Which I mention because your Green News Reports are fucking hilarious. Anyway, I'm just holding out hope this occasionally brilliant site doesn't become a DailyKos or a HuffPost or some other lapdogging, ignorant clearinghouse of psuedo-lefitis propaganda.
Happy thanksgiving.

Really? Feel free to share a link to an IPCC email which shows global warming to be "HIGHLY DUBIOUS". (Hint: Links to Rush Limbaugh and friends telling you that the emails make global warming "highly dubious" doesn't count...speaking of propaganda.)

In response to "Soul Rebel" who called this act "Treason". I don't think it is, [it's freedom of speech from cowardly low life dip shits who would probably end up shooting themselves by accident if they ever got the courage to put any action where their stupid mouths are flapping].
The ONLY reason that wide-scale violence hasn't broken out is that these yahoos ARE cowards.[they know how to hide, or show up with police presence.

Where were these people during the BushCo years?
I don't see this as anti-Obama; this seems pretty bipartisan to me. Yes, our government is pretty much totally corrupt. All of it. We've allowed it
to become thus. Now that it's too damn late, the corporations run the world, we want to revolt.

Chuck - just checked out your website. We'd get along just fine. I saw your commendation for Stone IPA. Have you tried their "Ruination" IPA - it is hands down the best IPA out there. Also, anything from North Coast Brewing out of Fort Bragg, CA is great. In particular, their Old Rasputin Russian Stout, but they do a great Pilsener (a style that American Breweries find a hard time matching their Euro counterparts) and a very nice Belgian called Pranqster. I am also a big fan of all things Deschutes (Portland, OR) - if you are into the Barleywines, get a bottle of Deschutes "Mirror Mirror", best I've tried this season.
Cheers, happy drinking and happy playing (I play the bass guitar - I even get paid sometimes!)

Welcome back Home for Thanksgiving Brad.
Hope you had an enjoyable road trip!
Growing up here, you know how it goes, St. Louis,Kansas City and a lil bit of Jefferson City are some what Liberal, More Center left then Progressive, but the wingnut teabaggers are every where now. St Charles County is busting at the seams with em and South County isn't far off As was noticed at Rep. Russ Carnahan's town hall meeting.
I go back and forth with em on The Post-Dispatch boards daily, they have a one track mind now a days, so that billboard doesn't surprise me at all.
Couldn't find the Company the owned the Board from your Picture, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was owned by DDI Media, a Drury Company.
This family is from the Cape and in-cahoots big time with The Limbaughs and the Mo Republicans...
We are leaving Friday morning for a road trip to Destin Fl. Through Alabama, I cant wait to see the signs from there, will report back in a few days..
Happy Thanksgiving all!

I've been a fan of Deschutes for many years now[Black Butte/Mirror Pond], I haven't tried Mirror Mirror, but I'll be on the lookout for it now.
Have you tried Bridgeport IPA? It's another one that's been known to put a smile on my lips.

It's odd indeed. These dolts don't see that NOTHING has changed since Obama was elected except the party in "power". They simply react to the ethncity of the new President and the party he belongs to. The Banks-Wall Street and corporate-miltary interests still control our nation.
The ignrant have been told to what to believe and then loosed on the country-side spread their disinformation. All the while the real culprits of the misery still have them bent over.
We're caught in a very clever shell game, a 3 card monty of hate and blame....yet these ignoramuses haven't realized that they're getting screwed by the dealer...not the cards.

As a former resident of the state of Misery, I can say this doesn't surprise me in the least. Being a resident now of a much more blue area, I don't miss it one bit. Someone above mentioned St. Louis being a blue area, but now that I've moved away, I've realized it really isn't that blue at all. I'm from south of St. Louis were idiot redneck racists abound and from what I'm used to seeing, this sign is nothing.

Hardly. I wish you were right, but you're not. If there was anything worth planning a revolution for, it was the last eight years, in which these folks were not only silent, they were making excuses and happily justifying every bit of big government and Constitution shredding they could.
They didn't give a damn then, and only do so now because they want to "take their country back" from Democrats. Period.
Remember, these are the same folks who previously dismissed the Ron Paul folks as loons, even while those folks were calling out all of the above for the entirety of the Bush cabal's reign.
Yes, our government is pretty much totally corrupt. All of it. We've allowed it

While you are not wrong (re: gov totally corrupt, corps run the world, etc.), there is nothing new there. Only difference: There's a Dem in office.
These tea baggers are pathetic, in my opinion, at least until they call for accountability for the previous administration. Wanna stop big government and dictatorial Executives? Throw the one in jail who kicked it all off beyond all historic precedent. That will send a *very* clear message to current and former Presidents that we will not tolerate such things.
Anything short of that is just pretending.

Yes, the name of the company who owned the billboard was conspicuously absent from that one. Even while every other billboard before and after it (for miles in every direction), prominently featured the name of the company who owned it.
As usual, they are cowards.

George Washington was a traitor. Thomas Jefferson was a traitor. Samuel Adams was a traitor. Every one of the Founding Fathers was a traitor.
One man's traitor is another man's freedom fighter.
The question is, which side are you on? The problem with America today is, some on the correct side are there through sheer chance and for reasons that don't comport with reality, while others of us are there for some of the same reasons the Founding Fathers were there.
When a government foists abuses on the people... And the government of America is a corporate controlled system meant to fleece the working populace of all ability to live their lives with substantial freedom, and instead make them debt slaves by having them turned into rampant consumers, buying things they don't need just to have perceived status (wrongly associated as power by the sheeple).
The Democracy in America has failed. People like Kucinich are drown out by corporate donations, and the SCOTUS is weighing a decision right now that will decide if "money = free speech" also means "corporations can contribute unlimited sums of money to political campaigns". In effect, the SCOTUS may well just say campaign finance laws are un-Constitutional because they restrict free speech. If that happens, the final nail to building the United Fascist States of America will be driven. Then what's the recourse?
The Founding Fathers chose to withhold taxes, then engage in war with their oppressive government.
Our issue is the British Troops of yesteryear are our fellow citizens living with us, working with us, all around us. It would be more of a Civil War of Independence, and would be very very messy. One would hope we could use discourse to solve our issues, but no one can get a substantial word spoken with the Corporate Voice being so loud.. the people are being shouted down.

While I can't disagree with your last sentiments there, and don't know if it's "treason" per se or not, it certainly seems to me that a couple of laws may be broken with that sign.
One, it seems to be encouraging citizens to NOT pay their taxes. While I don't know if such encouragement is illegal or not, it's certainly ironic given the absurd sturm und drang from the wingnuts over video tapes showing ACORN workers encouraging people to pay their taxes, even on supposedly ill-gotten gains (via prostitution, in those rightwing set up videos).
As to encouraging the overthrow of the government, if they are intending to incite riot, I do believe that is illegal as well.
But IYARIK, so, ya know, there will be no accountability, most likely, for any of the above.

Um how is this treason, it sounds like free speech to me. TREASON, now that would be like, oh I don't know - renewing the unconstitutional Patriot Act - oh wait, OBAMA IS! I am no right winger but Obama is a sellout and yeah, sorry, but we probably should be preparing for war, WTH is wrong with voting out incumbents, what have yours done for you lately?

Uh, Melissa, surely you appreciate that if the sign simply said "Vote out incumbents!" it would not have been featured here at all.
Yes, inciting the violent overthrow ("Prepare for War") of the U.S. Government is, in fact, illegal. It's also illegal not to pay your taxes, as point 1 in the sign similarly urges.
Whether you think Obama is up to snuff or not, and/or defying the Constitution by continuing Bush's unConstitutional policies is another matter entirely.
Do you suppose Republicans would have tolerate Democrats calling on citizens to "Prepare for War" against George W. Bush?? Don't you think Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity and friends would have been calling for someone to be held accountable for such "treason" during a time of war under those circumstances? Is the war(s) over now or something?? Has inciting riot and rebellion become legal now that there's a Democrat in office?

#30 Spurious Bolanas said "Why didn't they tell us we were voting for Goldman-Sachs?"
You have no idea how true that is! One thing we can blame is our federal state run (or maybe statist) education system for not teaching real history.
But can you really blame the state for indoctrinating their citizens with a point of view of the world that pushes and reinforces the statist agenda? For too many people the world view they're taught at a young age is very hard to let go of. It's like their own personal Matrix.
Read The Case Against the Fed for some historical background about how the Federal Reserve central bank came about and the J.P. Morgan and Rockefeller banks fight to put their lobbyists and frontmen in power int he federal government.
This is nothing new but unfortunately there is a conflict of interest of the statist federal run education department with the actual real history.

They'd have to figure out exactly WHAT they are fighting against and join together to do it. It'll never happen. The dumbest of the lot still think Obama is an Ay-rab without a birth certificate. The ones that are somewhat closer to being Independents just don't like change - too darn scary!
