The old saying was "politics makes strange bedfellows", but what WND is trying to do is cover up the fact that "strange bedfellows make politics".
The reason I say strange is that the religious right claimed significant ownership of this administration.
And they would not believe, much less support, a gay prostitute being used to bring new meaning to the white house brief room.
Even if it does say Hanes.

When I read the reports about AmericaBlog's blogging... I could see the MSM's link-liberals-to-homosexuality tactic coming a mile off!!!... and this just confirms to me that they're doing exactly that (and it's no different to the usual GOP flavored bullshit: labels like "anti-american", "unpatriotic", "they spit on our own troops", "bleeding heart liberals", "flip-floppers", "baby killers", "godless", etc.
If a republican can't win an argument... they resort to name calling ... or ... attempting to apply a label to those showing dissent to try to shame them in to silence...
Besides... If integrity is paramount...
I'd rather hear the truth from a liberal homosexual than hear barrage after barrage of outright lies, hypocracy and bullshit from GOP-affiliated and pay-rolled, professional liars disguised as genuine impartial news reporters.
They just hate the fact that we're concerned with integrity over sexuality. - And this lashback is a sign that they're squirming trying to divert the real issues and misrepresent the things we're attacking them for.

Absolutely PERFECT title to this post.
WND article is a pathetic attempt to reassure its readers that only "gays" and "gay publications" are concerned about gays in the WH.... it's an attempt to make it a "gay" issue and not what it is - "a gay hooker has access to the president, and is being fed inside information" issue.

Sorry, Brad, this is off topic - where did the VRFlag link go? Did you mean to move it - or is it right in front of me and I can't see it? And have you decided on VR bumper stickers? Thanks.

I have a sad feeling that at sometime in the future, this first decade of the 21st century will become known as "the time when America lost its collective mind"
We're gonna laugh about all of this someday.
If we survive it.
We are.
I just know it.

Right wing nuts just don't seem to get it. I myself am not pro-homosexual. In a comedic sort of way, being pro-homosexual implies that we want people to be gay. I personally don't WANT you to be gay. If you're straight and like girls, then don't BE gay (Unless you're doing an audition for Guys and Dolls). I, like many others on left, want you to be happy. If man loving man/woman loving woman makes your life worthwhile, then so be it. More happy people in the world is a better world.
Although prostitution is against the law, it's a law I don't agree with. You can marry for money, but you can't have a one night stand for money? What gives? I don't look down on Gannon for being a prostitute or gay. I look down on him for allowing the crowd he hangs around to bring shame on him for doing something I think he shouldn't be ashamed of. That and the whole fake "reporter" stuff. Clang Clang Clang went the Trolley!

Cheryl:
I came across this headline and laughed myself silly.
"Will Bert and Ernie Be Next?"
by Marty Jezer
I didn't even read the story, I'm proud to say --- although I'm sure it's pretty good. The discussion of whether cartoon characters are "pushing the 'gay agenda'" doesn't deserve one second of my day as far as I'm concerned.
For the religious right, it is my humble opinion that these people desperately NEED to be smoking something. Preferably, something that helps relax the sphincter muscles.
Wait a minute! Am I now promoting the "gay agenda"?!!
When will this madness end!!!!!

If they can't get anywhere with truth and logic (most times they can't!), they'll just call our "publications" HOMOSEXUAL! Or LIBERAL! Or some other horrible perversion!!
Eeek!

The tactic of changing the focus of the debate from what has happened to who we are is getting old, IMHO. I keep waiting for the general public to catch on but time and time again they fall for it.
As I've heard here before, we're on our own.
But, as I've told my son when teaching him how to debate an issue successfully - when you get an emotional reacton instead of a response based on logic, when the person you're in discussion with resorts to name-calling instead of making their point about the issue, they have run out of defense - and you have effectively already won the debate.
Whenever we see an attempt at distraction, we have to call them on it and bring the focus of the discussion back to the issue, and we have to remain calm and be relentless - think of them as stubborn four year olds, and treat them as such. There's nothing more frustrating to these people than tossing out their best bait and not getting a bite.
We're getting close to a major nerve with the Gannon stuff, and the investigations into problems with the election are not going away, as much as they'd hoped they would - and those are just TWO of the scandals, there are lots more still sitting on the back burner and starting to boil
The walls are starting to crumble, but they're not going to give up easily.
Everybody stay focused.

What covers a man's nakedness?
(a short poem)
Joseph Farah's hands weave short briefs
a cover up by WorldNewsDaily
a short brief by Joseph Farah
to cover the naked body of Jeff Gannon
OH! AH!
it is such pornographic journalism

Hi Stop_George!
Don't know, they haven't been *outed* yet. But Shrek has. Seriously, it would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic. Why, oh why are people so concerned with what goes on in the bedroom of someone else's house? Till the day I die I will never understand it.

Right you are, Kestrel. I believe the highbrow term for the G.O.P.'s tactics is "Ad hominem" attacks. Go after the person, not the thought. And yes, that usually happens when the person being attacked has the better argument.
Gannongate has hit the G.O.P. where it lives. That's why they're so bent out of shape. They preach family values, then they wind up with this guy in their midst. But attacking liberals is all they know how to do, so Gannon, a gay man, becomes OUR friend, not theirs...as if Democrats had hired him.
"Stick to the facts." Perfect. Stay on the offense, but not with cheap stuff, just facts. And hard questions. Let the G.O.P. stew in its own misery, because at some point soon there are going to be breaks in the Christian right's ranks...many of them are phonies, but some are sincere, and the ones that believe in true morality are going to start falling by the wayside from Bush and his cronies.

Cheryl #19 - *sigh* Remember the good old days when cartoon characters weren't seen as sexual beings because - HELLLOOOO!!! - they DON'T HAVE GENITALIA!!!
Don't know about y'all but I think there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with someone who feels sexually stimulated, or thinks someone else might be, by looking at a big purple dinosaur or a yellow sponge. (And yes I'm aware of the possibilities for double-entendre in that statement but don't EVEN go there *L*)

Not off topic.
Homeland Security wants to train journalists not to report. Raw Story had a link to a story where they had placed employment ads (since removed) to hire journalists.
I think the wingnuts should pick up on this and "get a real job" as the prez suggested to Mike Moore.
They could come out of the closet and work for the government propaganda machine out in the open, instead of from in the propaganda closet.
