Please sign this Online Petition calling on Congress to open an immediate investigation into possible fraud and/or mistabulation of votes by the American People in Election 2004.
Then use this link to ask everyone you know to sign it as well!
(A reader points out that your name, city and state will be available to those who choose to view the petition signatures. Obviously, I have no fear of publically speaking out against what’s happening, but if you have any privacy concerns, just enter your first initial, last name, city, state. E-mail address is required for cross verification; but if you check the box for “privacy,” no one will see your e-mail address. What’s important is that you sign it and stand up bravely to demand that our votes be counted properly! Go sign it now!)
UPDATE: Act for Change — a rather large activist group — is finally getting into the game! They too have an ONLINE PETITION / EMAIL DUMP! They will send your Email straight to your U.S. Congress people for you! Please sign that one as well! And again, let your friends know about it!

The idea that this president became more popular
in the last four years is dumbfounding. I live in Oregon where we still have fair elections. Bush lost
here by more than 10 points. In 2000 it was very
close 6000 votes. His popularity went down. The states in question Florida and Ohio( in exit polls) showed a clear margin of victory. I demand a recount in these states. With verifiable results. I do not trust the state election officials. But I know they will be rewarded by the Bush administration. Corupt as they are
Meaningful recounts on Diebold machines are impossible, and as a software engineer, I believe with sickening certainty that Diebold designed the machines this way deliberately, and that malicious intent is the only plausible reason why. No competent programmer would claim that a voting system with no paper trail or other write once storage is a secure system.
It’s not politically realistic, but the only just thing I can see would be for Florida and Ohio to have a new election day, this time with paper ballots, and to have pairs of people, one Democrat one Republican, count every last one by hand.
Well, we do know that Hastert and Delay kept a bill from coming to the floor that would have *required* paper trails for all E-Voting machines. Out here in CA, Diebold seems to have preferred to have been sued rather than implementing security or paper trails.
More on that tomorrow. But the good news is, Bev Harris and California won, Diebold lost.
And Mark, since you’re also a programmer, take a look at this, and let me know what you think about it. Would your company let you write that kind of code? 🙂
🙁
I believe that voter fraud has been carried out in the US as shown by the exit polls, the lost registrations, the obstruction to democratic voters, the lack of ability to audit, the numbers not registered voting against those registered. The failure by officials after 4 years to provide adequate polling booths for high density areas, the lies told by G.Bush in relation to iraq who had nothing to do with WTC, or links with Al Quaeda, or WMD. This republican regime is similar to Hitler with its division, hate, patriotism, nationalism and mass hysteria. I demand as the daughter of an American that the votes be recounted, and audited.
