Watching on CNN, which is offering a live meter, showing positive/negative reaction from "Uncommitted Ohio Voters".
McCain has been flat-lining, Obama has been maxing it out. For whatever that's worth. So far.

I want them to admit that Russia, both Putin and Medvedev... and Lavrov... all of them... are in fact the good guys on the world stage, that they did NOT attack Georgia, that they've been true friends to the innocent people around the world we've been threatening for, for... ever.... I want these fuckers to know the truth and tell the truth! I'm SICK to death of these lying fucks. There's no goddam decent reason to shilly shally and talk all these stupid American myths. I thought McCain was absolutely dismal tonight. Not what he needed to change the game.
That said, I think Obama lost an opportunity near the end when asked the sucker question about whether he'd commit U.S. troops to Israel if attacked by Iran, or if he'd seek permission of the U.N.
That was an opportunity for him to take that phony issue off the table once and for all. He didn't. He should have.
But that's fairly small potatoes given that McCain needed to do something here to shake things up. He didn't. He's running out of time. Quickly.

Well I watched it on CSPAN, so was without all the pure bullshit from the complicit media.
The "debate" itself and I use that term loosely was worthless as far as getting any real idea what either candidate would "try/want/hope" to do.
But having said that Obama still completely owned McSame.
McSame was actually painful to watch I finally had to get my wife to laugh by making lizard "sllliissipp sssllippp" sounds whenever McSame stuck his tongue out and gasped for air just so we both could stop cringing.
He was pathetic on so many levels I wouldn't even know where to start.
Now to ME what was the most telling factor about the entire *debate* was what happened AFTER the debate was over.
Mcsame and Obama were doing the rounds with the 80 or so "townspeople" there and McSame and wife make a very quick shake, shake, shake with maybe a few in each section with very little interest in them at all, they both left in what I believe was like 2 mins and they were in the limo headed to one of their 9 homes.
Meanwhile the Obama's were hanging out taking pictures with everyone, shaking every single persons hand, every person there was VERY interested in talking to them, getting autographs etc. They did that for about 20 mins or more I think.
THAT told me more about the least evil candidate than the rest of the debate did, and whom everyone was most interested in.
McSame was almost snubbed by the crowd.
We will never get REAL debates until 3rd/4th parties are on equal footing.
If McKinney or Nader or Barr would have been there then the debate would have been totally different, I think McKinney would have stated the truth about Russia/Georgia, would have mentioned the FACT that the last 3 elections have been stolen.
Until we get away from the Duopoly of criminals we call Dems/Rethugs that are both completely owned by big oil & the top 2% then there is absolutely no chance of real change.

I also watched on C-SPAN, and echo Nunyabiz about the after-party where Barack and Michelle reigned supreme (loved the group shot they all took with the Obamas!)
Aside from simply owning the debate (just the crowd facial reactions alone were very telling), Obama deserves praise for his comments about increasing energy EFFICIENCY, which the American Physical Society has called out as one of the easiest, cheapest, swiftest ways we can begin to address energy solutions.
McCain held his own repeating his usual talking points as battering rams --- the guy's sadly got little else to say.

OPEN QUOTE:
UPDATED CBS News and Knowledge Networks have, once again, conducted a nationally representative poll of uncommitted voters to get their immediate reaction to tonight's presidential debate.
Forty percent of the 516 uncommitted voters surveyed identified Barack Obama as tonight's winner; 26 percent said John McCain won, while 34 percent saw the debate as a draw.
CLOSE QUOTE:
Am I mistaken to think that 34% of respondents just do NOT understand what they are watching? Who the hell are these people, and where are their BASIC most powers of human discernment? They are not swayed by FOX or the Nation or me, or you, they just, "Boy shucks, don't know. Guess I'd call'er a draw."

#1 Pisser, corporate time restraints again.
Can't we have a whole day of debate, where they get serious, and everything is clarified. Perhaps taking a break and each candidate downing 6 beers and then come back and see how they behave? No? Why? It sure ain't that they don't have enough fucking donations for the AIRTIME!
#2 The Israel / Georgia insolence should be punished for both sides. AIPAC affiliates is what that was about in my opinion. If Israel doesn't want to get wiped of the fucking map, maybe they should start treating their neighbors with some respect. And yeah like Agent 99 points out, and I happen to agree, Georgia took first shot. This blaming Russia shit is asking for fucking trouble.
#3 But what Turned "the cake" into poop for me was the fact they are still addressing the economy with outdated models, talking points and facts. Until the three main points in the Genesis Plan are addressed we are headed for a depression, as there will be *NO* market stability because there is *NO* trust. Watch as the ^DJI goes to 5000 (Karl's prediction) or 4000 (My November 2007 prediction.)
You want to bail out the unqualified American homeowners still? Where you going to get the fucking money?
As long as their insolent attitudes continue down this path... The Question is, do you have enough beans and water to last that long when there's nothing on the shelves because the stores can't restock because there is no credit? Living in the San Joaquin valley I might be able to get by with BARTER. But good luck to those that don't have the food belt within walking distance.
A lot of time was wasted on "Talking Points" for both candidates. I am sick of that shit.
For example:
Should there be a Manhattan Project on energy or Garage DIY's? Answer should have been: Both. One word would have covered this.
Oh well, politics as usual as we head over the financial cliff.
I get the feeling that the public's fear is now turned to anger. That can't end well.

Also about the camerawork, stage, and electronic que cards.
It was a waste of electricity to berate us with traffic lights when our country faces such important problems. Ought to be a town meeting every day.
And finally, I noticed that McNeil/Leir or whatever his name is, couldn't read his que card at the end because Obama was on the left and McCain was on the right covering it.
He desperately wafts and bobs his head around trying to read it and then Obama notices it and moves, then McCain notices and moves. So on paying attention to reality in the set I would have to say Obama was more adept and changed faster.
Agent 99, just don't let anger destroy your own heart. On a nearly daily basis I get the feeling of foreign/alien negativity in the air. It's not something I would be naturally, almost like someone out there has unleashed some ethereal anger. Do stop yourself from snapping at your family or friends. Your family is the most important thing on Earth, your friends second to that. Neither is the cause of these problems. There's been so many lies, I am certain that this is actually destroying families now, if not financially, then with argument based in this same anger.
Smudge Stick the bad spirits, and negative thoughtforms out of your home. You watch and hear bad news all day, burn some sage, pinion or your favorite mix and clear that negativity out.
Peace

I'm with Agent 99 on wanting to barf at the Russia talk by both candidates but that's where my puking only starts. Heard the author of the Tyranny of Oil talking about the enormous amounts of methane released by deep offshore drilling. Just another reason why offshore drilling is a great fucking idea. Be a big help in our race to destroy the earth. But let's not mention it in the "debate". Where's my vomit bag? Both candidates think nuclear power is a good idea. That's so fucking stupid my vomit is puking. Have been reading a book about Iran by Robert Baer one of the world's top Mid-East experts. The Devil We Know. Check it out but not without your airsickness bag because neither candidate is even remotely dealing with the reality of Iran. The fucking bailout was an enormous betrayal of the American people by both candidates. They have no vision. No real courage. They're doing an election dance. And no one, NO ONE talks about electile dysfunction. The media's head is so far up its ass the only thing it can see with its shit covered miner's helmut are the other politicians and pundits whose heads are also plugged way, way up inside the giant collective politician/pundit asshole. That "debate" was an insult to intelligence, integrity, and truth.

Agent 99, I've practiced Satanism. I know how Anger can be used for change.
But the kind of Anger I am talking about is, for lack of better words, suddenly in the fucking air we breath daily. We are getting a dose of it daily from some unseen outside source. That anger needs to be cleared.
I know methods that can clear your home of everything, including friendly or even family spirits. Taking it much farther than just smudging. I can bind every spirit in your home in a fucking box if need be.
If your saying is, be angry, vote the corruption out, I'm following ya.
I know your NOT saying, be angry, be violent.
(as you all cleared up my posts for that kind of mistake to protect me from the corrupt powers that be that purposely try to cage us into framing us into a homegrown terrorist (when there never was any violence), or creating a new law where thought and posts online are turned from dreams and thoughts and opinion into criminal acts to be prosecuted to the prison camps. That ain't the answer, even if one is drunk when one boasts of such misdirected ideas.)
No, the answer is to understand the sources of this corruption and stop it. After all they are the ones that need to be in a mental institution. Not you, not me. We are venting, talking, and counter talking when our talk goes astray. I find for the most part until the "cyberwarriors" came, that since the bbs days and still to this day if you know where to look you can still find the truth by proxy, by overwhelming public vote, by being countered by common sense.
Our government lacks this oversight. They have been power mad, and are taking their shortcomings out on us. I don't HATE Pelosi. I think she should do TIME IN JAIL for breaking her oath. I don't HATE BUSH, I think he should do life in prison for murder. I hope you understand what I am saying.
The only defense against them we have is the second amendment. Obviously the military who swore oaths against domestic terrorism has been bypassed somehow. Or Pelosi, Bush, Rove etc would be in Jail.
That as soon as some fuck came up with an unconstitutional amendment they would be rejected.
No Fisa
No Gitmo
No Iraq
No Federal Reserve
and on and on..
These candidates are not talking about shit. And that puts negativity in the Air. Your spouse hates it and that creates negative thought forms. Your Friend Drinks More beer and breaks your console game. Or even you snap at your friend or family or animal. It's real, it's mind control, it's there. You must fight it, you must clear your head, you must clear your home. You must focus.
Things are not okay.

The "no short" rule will ultimately be cited as the reason that the market crashed, being that there were no shorts to cover and thus hundreds of stocks, on that fateful day, went "no bid" and had their prices collapse to zero - all at once.

Again I thank Brad headquarters for straightening me out on my specific form of anger. I didn't realize that DHS considered thoughts, dreams, ideas as fucking criminal shit. I have since cubed that type of speech, I guess the first amendment don't matter no more. It's all about thought control, mind control, and forced control. But the good news is that these motherfuckers can't afford to keep this shit up much longer. So maybe just like 1776, we'll have a fucking chance one more time, given that no EXTERNAL country fucks with us at that time.
IF that happens, probably the whole world will burn in nuclear holocaust.

No way that nuke generating plants are going to happen on a massive scale, they cost too much and we have no money to subsidize them. Private industry isn't stupid enough to go it alone without a massive Government tax money infusion and with that would come lowered regulatory rules.
There is no manufacturer of nuke power plant parts and electrical distribution equipment left in the US anyway, so the only thing labor would contribute is the construction and assembly of the plant, no US engineering and related jobs would be necessary as most of the money would go back overseas.
Read minimal help for our economy.
It's all talk similar to the Pukes saying they want to get rid of Roe v Wade...they don't and they know it, just another political talking point to distract/divide the masses while the wealthy stick it to us.

Might be a good idea to buy about 100# of Rice, 50# of sweet potatos, as much gas as you can safely store and plenty of rounds to what ever weapon you had better own already.

No more debates are needed, the election is over.
I just voted, for President Barack Obama and Vice President Biden.
If old man macLAME cannot face or even be cordial with his political opponent (who he refers to as 'That One') how can he negotiate with our allies and enemies?
stick a fork in em, johnny mcSAMEasBUSH and Sarah 'youbetcha' Palin don't have a pray on November 4th.
Can't wait for the the impeachment hearings and war crimes tribunals to start against the neocons on January 21st 2009!

You can tell alot by a person's handshake. Look at the expresion on McSAME's face. Look at the fingers spread out. Look at the angle of the wrist.
He isn't
even presidential enough to shake hands with barrak.
This is just another example of McSAME being MCSAME.

I figured that video might pique your interest.
I have never heard her sound so dire before, if she is right which I personally believe she is then we are headed for disaster and soon.
the October surprise might be a complete market collapse with "Marshall Law", exactly what we all have been predicting for years.

With all their millions of dollars in equipment, why did the networks provide the two with those awful mics with all of this hissing? It was painful to listen to. The debate was boring enough without having Obama and McCain sound like snakes every time they said anything.

Brad:
I would greatly appreciate it if there is anyway possible that the next time you host a show that you do your best to interview Naomi Wolf ASAP

I have a whole passel of Naomi Wolf posts and try to keep careful track of her, ever since Brad interviewed her in a guest hosting spot last year. The one thing that irked me was that she kept saying that as soon as someone was arrested for their speech, or something to that effect, that she was going to shut up because she didn't want to be arrested. I was thinking, well how the hell are we going to make progress if you chicken out like that? It seems she has decided not to chicken out.
We CAN'T chicken out, or all is lost.
I bet Peter B is trying to get her on his show right now, but if he isn't, maybe Brad can help with that, and maybe he could get Malloy to devote a whole show to her. It's certainly worth it.

That restaurant hand show thing was hilarious. The only people to raise their hands for McCain was the faux news reporter himself(!) and one old guy whose wife grabbed his hand to pull it down, and then he and she both raised their hands for Obama....
Split, lol, just like the country is split when the vote turns out 49,321,000 to 49,326,000 in McCain's favor even when noone can actually recall voting for him....

Am I having an acid flashback, a Groundhog Day, or what? This debate is a rerun of the first, with the same arguments about Pakistan, and "the surge," and the bottomless wisdom of General Patraeus [and rehashed in the same language and anecdotage that turns the hall into an echo chamber with a deep pall of tedium. I blame the candidates' reps, who OK'd this lousy format. And although Obama is winning, neither he nor McCain seems to have a genuine grasp of how grave our economic situation is, how stark the prospect of a looming possible Depression. You'd never know from this evening that 5000 Dow points have been lopped since the previous debate and that those retired or near retirement have seen their portfolios crushed and have no hopes of recouping those losses in their nonproductive years. Not to mention all the job losses that the Wall Street plummet portends.

Reagan sent the Marines into Lebanon August 1982.
McCain entered Congress January 1983.
How did McCain beg Reagan not to send the troops in, when he wasn't around? Did he advise Reagan before he was elected?????
Good of you to notice the discrepancy.
This may answer your question:
http://articles.latimes....l/11/nation/na-divorce11
Short version:
The McCains (first wife Carol) were friends of the Reagans and saw them regularly. After John divorced Carol in 1980 the Reagans pretty much snubbed John. Both Reagans thought very highly of Carol and employed her at the White House.
I suspect that he is making stuff up since I think it unlikely that Ron was speaking to John only two years after the divorce. Since I wasn't there I can only speculate.
I have observed that he seems to be lying whenever his lips are moving.
