GREAT WORK BRAD!!!
Question from one of my bloggers: How can George Allen demand a recount if there are no actual paper ballots to recount? Doesn't the machine just tally up the total again?
Such poetic justice!!
Love,

Last night I was watching the votes being counted in Washington County (suburban Portland), Oregon.
A woman with the Republican gubernatorial campaign was grousing so much on so many points that I asked her, "So what would be your ideal vote counting system?" She replied, "Well, people say it can't be done, but I see no reason why we shouldn't be counting by hand." Her companion, a republican professional from Virginia, was all about getting rid of the DRE's.
This morning Ed Schultz spent the first half-hour of his show on the primacy of getting the voting process right. He kept saying it was the first issue that needs to be addressed.
And, for the record, the five ESS industrial-sized machines kept jamming and the local vendor (who also prints the ballots) was called. The owner of the company and an assistant spent all kinds of time tinkering with the machines, supervised in the same manner one would supervise the guy who comes to fix the copy machine at the office.
No sense of malfeasance here, but it was a prime example of that loss of control at the private vendor interface.
And I heard from more than one election division employee that the punch card ballots were much more reliable than the color-in-the-circle style adopted, for perceptual reasons, after 2000.

Too funny - that little movie of Bush giving the thumbs up in the top of page ad banner when I came in just now.

Tireless Brad and his tireless contributors were SO victorous in suppressing the vote fraud and energizing the public. Just as it should be. Unbelievable! There's more work I know but thank goodness so much was able to be done in time!
BIG KISSES to all!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!

R n'R Brad!
Left leaning?
Nonpartisan expositions of those responsible for the hijacking of our American system of elections, as well as articles about those trying to protect U.S. Democracy is more accurate.
O.T.
Can "we the people" demand visual 24 hour protection with multiple video cameras of all VA ballots?
So proud of you!

Good show, Brad! Like MMIIXX said, it's about time for the Times to take note.
I would like to know what criteria Zeller uses to identify the various non-repub blogs as either left-leaning or liberal. I'll be darned if I can figure it out, but he has somehow.
Hooray for all of you who kept the attention focused on those dastardly bastards & the corruption behind the EVM/DRE scam. There's a heckuva lot more to do, but it's worth it. Thank you Brad, Bradvillians & all the other tireless patriots doing the dumpster diving, numbers crunching, investigations, etc. etc.
I agree with Miss Persistent #10 - Tireless Brad and his tireless contributors were SO victorous in suppressing the vote fraud . That's the difference between them that leans left & them that leans right!! The right-leaners work tirelessly to suppress the VOTERS & the VOTES. That's when Right is Wrong!
I just hope the Democrats really UNDERSTAND we don't want them to spend much time trying to "work with the other side" - WE VOTED THEM IN TO CHANGE THIS BLASTED WORST EVER CONGRESS. I hope Pelosi will/can keep her word to really clean house.

Just think - someday we can look back on this and say we knew Brad when he was just a little blogger wearing a little bitty tinfoil hat *laughing*
Oh, and Brad, on a tangent and personal note - when you get famous, PLEASE don't morph your name and your g/f's into some sort of cutsie moniker (Brangelina, Bennifer, etc etc). That's just - icky.

The NY Times is a waste of money, but more particularly a waste of trees! I wouldn't read that damn rag unless they at least printed it on hemp. But it's extremely gratifying to see their grudging hat-tip to the "left-leaning" BradBlog. Those obtuse fools should drop by in Bradville once in a while, fashion themselves a few stylish tinfoil hats (I could help them with that), rap with the locals, and discover the world of reporting without fat cats and superstar, bloviating pundits. Left-leaning, indeed - I've long suspected that Brad is a Goldwater Republican, but you know what? I'll never know, and it doesn't matter a bit. It's all about Right and Wrong, after all. We love you, Brad, and I love all you fine, stalwart Bradvillians who help Brad make a difference!

Slept good last two nights. Only thing still being twisted...the press and talking heads keep saying "the people have spoken" Well the people have been speaking since 2000! The press just barely shined a tiny bit of light on the machines and look at the results? It stopped the ATOMIC-FRAUD they were set-up to do yet again ! And Brad theres got to be a special place in heaven for you. A place where you'll hang out with all the other TRUE PATRIOTS in history! How do we thank you for the priceless gift you gave us, OUR FREEDOM BACK !

OK. I'll give Brad his "hurrah" with the rest of youse, and I'll even give you permission to drink up (of both the wine and the fresh air of freedom) through the weekend.
Monday, it's back to work putting the Democrats feet to the fire to make sure they start making this Republican Administration accountable and putting back together our fractured Constitution that these a-holes shredded like "a piece of paper."
Party well. Monday will be here soon enough.

I wouldn't get too carried away with Zeller's characterization of a "left-leaning Bradblog.com". First of all, it shouldn't be a dirty word as the rightwing has brainwashed us to believe or accept. Second, I wouldn't be too hard on Tom Zeller, the writer of this story. I happen to know that Zeller has been a fan or, at least, a follower of BradBlog and other blogs for some time. When we were putting together the so-called "First Annual BradBlog Blogathon" in spring 2005 I communicated with him about being a guest blogger for the event. He wanted to but couldn't because of policies of his newspaper and other demands on his schedule. He expressed kind words for Brad and his work at that time.

Yea Joan ... my bad.
I didn't mean to criticize Zeller, Steve. I've been kinda baffled by how the media & others decide how to label blogs/voters as left-leaning or liberal. Of course I think it's the repub. rhetoric that has seeped into popular jargon, and I'm ready to dump in in the trash.
I'm listening to Democracy Now on LINK TV - Today's show - Everything you wanted to know about GATES & aren't afraid to ask.

I've never thought of myself as left-leaning. I think I'm a moderate, and that's what I think Brad is, too... But liberals are moderates. We're in the middle of popular opinion. We are not for doing anything radical, but we are for using science and research to give us the answers for how to procede in public life. That's liberal, it's open-minded, but it ain't to the left.
I'm for stopping global warming, new energy sources, controling rampant hanggun availability, GETTING OUT OF IRAQ!, a woman's right to choose, stem cell research, a balanced budget, paying down the deficit, taxing the rich at least as much as Clinton did (I'll be glad to pay the extra $3 or 4 hundred that I'd owe in order to keep from having my children and grandchildren pay huge interest rates on this money...), cutting the defense budget, increasing the "helping hand" money for folks in need, but stopping $ give-aways to slackers (most of such handouts go to corporate types in the form of outragious tax breaks...) who don't try to earn. I'm for increasing the minimum wage, helping out poor countries, warring with our giant USA wallet instead of our weapons, putting our best and brightest into civilian jobs instead of military, treating ALL PEOPLE with respect and dignity, and coming up with a good way to deal with the folks from Central and South America who wanna come here...
Am I a liberal? Yes, because I am forward-thinking, ready to embrace new ideas. And, make no mistake, I AM ON THE MAJORITY SIDE OF EACH OF THESE ISSUES.
Thinking like this is not leaning left, but squarely in the middle. The only reason it's thought of as left leaning is because we've allowed the media to listen to the hard right defining the left as out of touch, when in fact it's them that are outta the mainstream...

Thank you! Beautifully, succinctly put into a nice sound byte. I think most people who post here have said about the same thing you just did about where they stand on the issues. I know I agree with you - yet - my Republican relatives have blacklisted me as a threat to their way of thinking. Of course that didn't start until after 2000. Interesting, that.
I appreciate your posts!
Cheers!
