=========
One more win in the House and we have the majority,.. once the vote count completed on the west coast we will pickup way more than needed.
We will come up two seats shy to gain a majority to the senate.
We are picking up governorships to the Demo Party.
The only man-date bu$$h has is Guckert/Gannon in the Lincoln Bedroom.

Eisenhower wasn't considered extremely brilliant either.
Nor was Lincoln.
What GW had, was an unchecked, rubberstamping congress, A Blank check...and Rove.
Rove. ZERO credentials outside of Political Operative. The russians had those too.
He's the power behind GW.

Associated Press:
Democrats wrested 15 House seats from Republican control Tuesday --- enough to regain control if they hold all their seats, according to The Associated Press.
In the 435 U.S. House races, the Republicans have won 125 seats and are leading in the races for 46 seats. The Democrats have won 142 seats and are leading in the races for 46 seats. According to The Associated Press, Democrats will have control of the House if those trends continue.

Howdy MMIIXX. Glad you're here. I'm of the opinion we have NO CLUE how many people have voted against the rethugs. I don't think this election is any more fair than any other. I'm certain Rove is giving a few wins out because he really has to - with so much dissent in the country. But It's still a FIXED game.
We really need the Senate.

My state is the first state that installed unauditable DREs in every precinct.
My state is the one that showed major & very suspicious upsets of popular Democrats in 2002 --- swings of 16% away from the polls' predictions prior to the sElection that year.

Here's what I can tell you about Clint Curtis' race. I was at a Country Club homeowners association/polling place in Volusia County at 7:00AM. I was at the same place in August. I was there straight from open til' close today running an informal exit poll. (Which is the only kind you can run when the pollsters must be 100 feet away from the door...) This is the largest polling place in Volusia County, with over 3300 registered voters. It encompasses a huge subdivision around a golf course, with a lot of really nice real estate. This precinct is not your average Volusia County neighborhood, as the entire County runs less than half Red, but this precinct has 60% Republican residents. Throughout the day I ran around the parking lot, telling people that I was running an exit poll, and asking if they would answer one question for me, and asking about the congressional race between Clint Curtis and Tom Feeney. Those that answered Clint Curtis, I informed about the votenow2006 website, and I got a bunch of people to sign up for it through me, and many more said they would... Late in the day after the rain started pouring, and at a point where I was unable to get people to respond to my question as they were running for their cars, I added up the numbers I had. On the first count at around 4:30, my exit poll had 210 for Feeney, and 196 for Clint. By the close of the polls, my numbers were 215 Feeney to 206 Clint. (The numbers didn't change much over the last three hours because the entire time it was pouring rain, which reduced people's propensity to respond, and to some degree our attempts to run after them...) Having been there all day I estimated that I probably had responses from about a third of the people.
The results came in as 760 for Feeney and 585 for Clint, which equals 1245 votes - of 1386 voters total. Thus 141 people - over 10% of the voters failed to vote on this race... It also means that we got 35.2% of the Clint Curtis voters to respond to the exit poll, while only 28.2% of Feeney's voters. Of the 965 voters at the precinct which did not respond to my exit poll, 141 - or 14.6% would have not voted at all in this race. This leaves 824 people who voted in the Curtis-Feeney race who did not repond to my poll question. In order for the numbers to come out how they did, Feeney must have had 545 of them, while Clint only had 379. Meaning that of these people, most of which never got a chance to answer my exit poll question due to rain or me being overwhelmed by too many people leaving at once - Feeney carried this group by a margin of 69.5% to 31.5%. I had a feeling there were shenanigans before I even crunched the numbers on this. I don't know if we'll get 586 people from this precinct to swear they voted for Clint on Votenow2006, but the numbers just didn't seem right to me.
Later, watching the returns at the Clint Curtis afterparty, it seemed as though there was a consistent percentage which didn't change throughout the night. 56.5% to 43.5% was the official count in the precint I was at (which leans much heavier Republican than the rest of the County) and the race stayed 57-43 or 56-44 all night. I couldn't shake the feeling that there were shenanigans going on all night. Before I left, I spoke with Clint. Apparently I'm not the only one suspecting things may be out of order... He's received word from other people about things which seem to be somewhat suspicious as well. I can tell you that you won't be hearing his concession speech anytime soon. These things are going to take some time to work out, but Clint assured me he's going to be on the case. The networks may call this one, but it's far from over. Clint Curtis being elected is e-voting's worst nightmare, and thus his victory probably isn't going to come without a fight. I told him to count me in.

Brad,
Please ask a California Democrat (Debra Bowen would be the best choice) the following question: Why did the California State Democratic Party not take a position on Proposition 89? This was the most important proposition in my 56 yrs as a native Californian and the Cal Democrats let us all down (not Bowen of course). This may drive me to quit the party, that is, I now know they are not really serious about getting big money out of the election process.

Just wanted to pass this along to Brad and his readers.
Voter intimidation in Louisiana.
1) How you say? Cross Burning.
This is simply disgusting. Multiple crosses have been found burned in parking lots. NAACP and FBI are monitoring polling stations in St. Landry Parish. See links below.
http://www.katc.com/Global/story.asp?S=5642185
http://www.katc.com/Glob...=37643&nav=menu209_2
Cross burned turned over to crime lab. http://www.klfy.com/
2) Voter delays at majority African American polling station in Lafayette.
"Some voters casting their ballots at Alice Boucher Elementary School experienced a delay at the polls Tuesday morning.
Some voters claim they were turned away.
They tell us they were told the polls were down.
Lafayette clerk of court, Louis Perret tells us human error caused the delay.
We're told the problem was fixed promptly and they have seen no glitches since then at this location."
http://www.klfy.com/Glob...5645661&nav=menu61_1
3) Local media distorts Voter Machine Concerns raised by the HBO documentary.
"One voter we spoke with says the documentary showed how prevalent voting fraud is in electronic voting and even how vote-tampering is possible with computers.
But, Vermilion Parish clerk of court, Diane Meaux Broussard says that's absolutely not possible.
She says there is no way to tamper with the machine because instead of more like a computer, it's like an adding machine.
And, she says there's no way anyone can add votes to the machine before the election, either."
"Questions about voting machines are not uncommon before an election."
"The paper-less machines record votes electronically and officials say that makes them more dependable and accurate than older machines."
http://www.klfy.com/Glob...5642314&nav=menu61_1
Brad, perhaps you could shine a spotlight on the cross burning story going on. People need to know exactly how far people are willing to go to win a Sheriff's race in a relatively small parish in Louisiana.

Had to work earlier tonight but I've been reading this and the previous thread and I've finally caught up. Finally also got a consistent connection for Brad and Peter's Election Night Special at The Democratic Daily and I'm listening now. Pretty much good news but Clint and Debra Bowen are at the top of my list of important candidates and those contests are leaving me concerned. Anyway, great job Brad, Peter, Kira, Agent 99 and all the rest of you BradBloggers. Hopefully, with the Dems in charge of, at least, the House of Reps. we can get a real hearing of election integrity concerns and perhaps start making the changes that will put Brad out of work....JUST KIDDING! Even if we somehow do get real election integrity reform Brad's voice is one that I suspect more and more people will be hearing.

Here is another story on the Voter intimidation by way Cross Burning in Louisiana.
http://www.theadvertiser...p;SearchID=7326235071869
Can you believe this? The Mayor called the State Police to investigate and told reporters this...
"He (the state trooper) didn't think it was a hate crime because it was not directed at anyone, because it was done on town hall property," Coco said. "It could possibly be some kids. We really just don't know."
Sure. The incumbant Mayor is black and the Challenger is not. A little cross burning before the election on public property. Must be those crazy kids.

General Election - November 7, 2006
Optical & Touch Screen Units Reporting: 0 of 256 (includes Early, Absentee)
Results last updated 11-07-06 23:54:46
Tom Feeney Rep 33,200 62.24
Clint Curtis Dem 20,139 37.76
those numbers follow the trend thru the last 1500 or so votes as reflected currently on the states site for the total count for Seminole County....
i just found it strange that as soon as the numbers appeared at the state's website, that they were no longer accessible from Seminole County's website like it had been all night

"I just saw someone on CNN say there wasn't many problems with e-vote machines. "
I'd laugh if this was less serious. Don't think for a moment that the Dems are going to do anything. Pelosi has already said basically "nothing is going to change."
The real change comes from us getting a truly competitive party framework off the ground. Don't stop until that is achieved. The Democrats are useless and will continue to be the white shadow of the dark horse Republicans.

election fraud
More problems in Ohio
author: posted from dailykos
At 10:15 a.m., I was the first person to vote electronically at my precinct in Cleveland Heights. Having arrived at 6:30 when the polls opened, we were immediately told by poll workers that none of the five cards voters use to vote electronically were functional. In fact, I'm fairly certain that the majority of the cards came up as dead on arrival. If you're unfamiliar with how the process works here, when voters sign in, they're handed a card that looks much like a hotel key card. Then, they go to the machine, cast their ballot and bring the card back to the poll worker, who takes it and prepares it for the next voter.
http://www.dailykos.com/...nly/2006/11/7/11110/5770
Well, none of the cards or miniature readers worked. From 6:30 a.m. on, poll workers in contact with the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections were told that they were, in fact, aware of the problem and that, to be sure, help was on the way. Between five and ten minutes away. They were repeatedly given the five-to-ten-minute story for three hours. Help never came. Apparently, similar problems had happened at other area precincts. At one point, a poll worker was told that the problems were so widespread in Cleveland that dispatching support staff to a single precinct would be next to impossible...

if I wanted a paper ballot or to use the electronic machine. I shook my head and replied, 'That's a question?' The whole place cracked up. I was there for about ten minutes and in that time maybe 12 voters did not use the 'machine'.

Voting Expert: Widespread Election Fraud Again
Harris tells Alex Jones Show she has acquired software for big three companies, stories of mass voter intimidation, arrests, machine meltdowns proliferate
Paul Joseph Watson

Tuesday, November 7, 2006
Vote fraud crusader and rights activist Bev Harris has told the nationally syndicated Alex Jones Show that she is in possession of voting software used by the big three voting systems companies and is now in a position to completely expose the true scale of electronic vote fraud, as a cascade of stories about voter intimidation, arrests and machine meltdowns arrived on election day.
"They aren't even being sneaky about it now," said Harris in summarizing the widespread voting machine failures and election fraud that unfolded throughout the day, referring to policies whereby voting precincts have imposed complete blackouts on any indication of their results until the official confirmation from headquarters is given.
Precinct reports are now being treated as illegal and individuals are being charged for even suggesting that precincts keep tally counts of votes so comparison checks can be conducted later.
Harris also related stories of arrests of those merely trying to ensure checks and balances are taking place as voting machines fail nationwide, including an entire county blackout in Indiana.
Harris also discussed dirty tricks in Los Angeles, whereby polling precincts remain closed anything to an hour after they were supposed to open and election workers are putting green lines through ballot papers to denote the location of voting, knowing full well that this invalidates the paper during the subsequent optical scan. Pollsters were caught telling colleagues in hushed tones not to let voters know about this scam.
Widespread reports of scanning machines rejecting ballots are also flooding in, with voters told to "go home" if their ballot is rejected three times by the machine.
Harris featured in the recent blockbuster HBO documentary Hacking Democracy and said that since appearing in the program she has received death threats warning "we are going to get you," and "I hope you die a horrible awful slow death."
She has also been the target of anonymous Internet bloggers who slander voting activists. In one instance further research uncovered the fact that one of these "agent provocateurs" was a Diebold employee.
But Harris remains undeterred and is now in a position to expose the length and breadth of the fraud after acquiring the software programs for the other big three voting systems companies aside from Diebold.
Harris exclusively told the Alex Jones Show, "I have now got a hold of the software of the other three major vendors and won't be releasing it," stating she was in possession of the code used by Election Systems & Software, Sequoia and Hart Intercivics.
"We're going to be able to compare what they give us with very specific information - dates, times, and serial numbers of the machines," said Harris.

99- I'm back from walking my dog. All of the good outcomes tonight must have gone to your head for you to even dream we could get rid of Shrub that easily.
By the way, I've been meaning to ask, since you took over editing this blog I've noticed that you don't post comments that often anymore. Do you have to read every post and does that leave you with no time to comment?

From the other side of the globe:
A heartfelt thanks to all you patriotic bloggers for defending the US experiment from the neocon christo-fascists.
And, for wrecking the bushik rubberstamp House.
May the Senate be liberated as well!
I celebrated by laughing, as right-wing smart-asses on cnn, and interviewed by the bbc, were hopelessly trying to spin this into something other than a political tsunami. As if throwing all those incumbent crooks out of their gerrymandered seats, using republican-built 'voting' machines, were not a *phenomenal* repudiation of neocon rule.
Take good care of yourselves --- 2008 will need you too!

Regarding precinct totals, for several years our local elections officer has resisted posting any results (poll tapes) even though it is required by law. This year, the Voter Confidence Committee threatened him with a lawyer and he finally instructed poll workers to run a second tape from the Accuvote scanner for posting.
Only problem is... the law (and common sense) dictate that the tape should be posted prominently OUTSIDE the polling place (so it can be seen after the polls close), and he told poll workers to post it INSIDE the polling place in the location where they display the roster. Riiight.
Also, the law states this duplicate tape must be signed by the poll workers. The memo instructs them NOT to sign it. This is a moot point if nobody can see it anyhow, but wouldn't this imply that that copy of the tape doesn't represent the bonafide results?

Worst case scenario for the Senate - I think there will be more Republican heads rolling due to corruption - maybe some will resign. If it happens to one or two (depending on the final outcomes), then we would have control right?

I went out around midnight and did a dive into the dumpsters at the school across the street which served as the local polling place.
Being a heavy democratic area I didn't expect to find any thing and was pleased when that is how it panned out.

Yo BB2!!! I hope the school dumpsters were inoffensive as well as bereft of smoking guns. Thanks for making the effort. You never know - you might get lucky and find Larisa Alexandrovna in one of them I've got to get to bed soon - running low on gas here in central Europe. Keep on truckin'!

Now we get rid of these machines.. Permanently!?
I am sick to my stomach of hearing about OPEN SOURCE, OPEN SOURCE.. SHUT UP!
Open source is still software, and software can still be fucked with, and since it is still electronic, electronics can still be specially crafted.
NO OPEN SOURCE.
NO CLOSED SOURCE.
NO ELECTRONICS IN THE GOD DAMN ELECTIONS.
Alright with that said. It seems that our country has barely dodged the FACISM bullet. ITMFA
Keep diebold doing atm's or some other crap.
NOT ELECTIONS.

Ditto.....
To my mind, if Nancy Pelosi has half a brain, impeachment SHOULD be her # 1 priority. What better message could she send to U.S. citizens AND to the world that this new government won't tolerate corruption and wants an open and honest government with checks and balances in place.
