I hope that everyone had a chance to read the San Jose Mercury News article from Thursday. Our overseas military voters will now have an option of emailing their ballots to the Pentagon. Those emails will then be sent to a contractor, who makes partisan contributions, and the emails will then be copied and fax’d to those states that do not allow email but will allow faxes or forwarded on to those states who do allow email. The military voters are not told that their personal information and voting choices may be released and they are required to waive their right to a secret ballot. The article is posted again, below / Ever hear of voting problems in Oklahoma? In over three years of doing DVN I don’t think I have ever included an article from OK. Today I did and it’s a good one. / …

So if I get your article – the repugs have found a way to use their contributors to send extra votes for republican candidates and use our troops overseas as “cover” for this ballot box stuffing.
Wow, this has to be illegal. If it’s not it should be illegal. I’ll bet this will intimidate some soldiers. I know if I was over there, and I knew they were going to see whom I voted for, I would think their message is, (Don’t get any idea of voting against our party or else you might end up in a fire zone). This is truly a travesty.
There’s really no bottom, to how low they can go.
Folks I know, keep thinking that there’s some line in the sand that our current politicians won’t cross, and our leaders keep proving them wrong.
We have to keep up the fight, but I fear this can’t be fixed, until things break badly.
We’ve just had it too good, for too long.
Previous generations showed the way, but it took hardship on the home front, to get the people up and making a difference. People had to discover that they had to fight to keep what they had, and they had to lose it all, to learn what they were fighting for.
For most, there’s still hope. Hope that they can have the American Dream, hope that their credit limit will be raised, hope that next year will be better.
Until our politicians crush those hopes, people will be content to make sacrifices, and watch television.
Oh I wish I didn’t believe this to be so.
