CBS News reporter Lara Logan appeared live from Iraq on CNN Reliable Sources on Sunday morning. She issued a stern rejection of the notion that Iraq reporters are biased towards negative stories.

LOGAN: Well, who says things aren’t falling apart in Iraq? I mean, what you didn’t see on your screens this week was all the unidentified bodies that have been turning up, all the allegations here of militias that are really controlling the security forces.
What about all the American soldiers that died this week that you didn’t see on our screens? I mean, we’ve reported on reconstruction stories over and over again…I mean, I really resent the fact that people say that we’re not reflecting the true picture here. That’s totally unfair and it’s really unfounded.

There was almost universal rejection of the notion of not reporting "enough good" coming from Iraq.
It may be that the self-destructing republican dictatorship has taken the final fatal step, blaming the news media for reporting the news that the republican dictatorship is fully responsible for.
At the four-minute, forty-two second mark (4:42 ), when Lara goes to comment on the other reporter’s story about "the safety of balconies", you can hear sirens and alarms in the background — kinda underscores, for me, the validity of Lara over the other shmuch.

I think "we" have been saying for quite a while, in the face of the wing-nuts talking about "good stories", that there is a LOT more "bad" going on over there than good. When you have 10 pounds of shit and 3 oz of sugar, you still don’t want to be the person eating dinner at that table.
The Administration is trying VERY hard to cover the FACT (as it seems) that Civil War has broke out in Iraq. A problem CAUSED by the United States being there. Caused by US not doing what we needed to, not being properly prepared to get in and "control" the situtation until the new government was in place. We went in 1/2 assed and made a huge mess.. and the Admin is trying to hide that fact.
Hell, their own elected officials are pissed at us now (some killings in a mosque). They only met twice now, once for 30 minutes and once to say they aren’t meeting again? WTF?! it’s been 3 months!
It’s time we pulled out of Iraq, 100%. Get out, appologize for the mess, and let them sort it out. They don’t want us there, they don’t want our Western Capitolism there, they don’t want our "form of democracy" there, they want their Theocracy and to kill everyone of differing sects. Let them at it.. but get our troops OUT of the way!

The Republicans & rightwingers always had a problem with truthful news. They call truthful news "liberal". Liberal news to them, is true news that they want suppressed because it makes them look bad. It is as simple as that.

The Repubican Noise Machine in the MSM: their message (this week) was to "float" the message that the MSM isn’t reporting enough good news. It seems their message floating plans don’t work like they used to. In unison, if you listen to Rush/FOX/etc…, they are all in unison chanting THEIR drumbeat that the MSM isn’t reporting enough good news, and this is why the MSM has to even answer to this ludicrous accusation.

The truth makes the Republicans look bad because they are bad.
Why don’t our VICE politition Mr. Dick offer to take a group of reporter’s on a tour of Iraq so they can report on all the good thing’s going on there. Don’t anyone hold there breath but I beleive NBC just may have woke up this last week and remembered what their job was. some of the best reporting I’ve seen from NBC since we aquired our corrupt administration. Katie and Matt went AWOL when their country needed them most, who know’s maybe they are not afraid any more.
There’s 3 types categories of news in the MSM:
1. Truthful news that makes Republicans look bad and is suppressed (when it’s not suppressed, the GOP cries "liberal news media"…9/11, Downing memo’s, e-vote fraud, stories from Iraqi civiliians who were maimed/killed by us, etc…).
2. Lies/propoganda (the GOP says nothing because it benefits them…this benefits ONE party; what lies/propoganda in the MSM benefit "liberals"??? Name something!!!)
3. Info-tainment news, benefits no one. You see ZERO of this on Democracy NOW! No movie stars, no politicians, no pundits, no commercials.

I watch some of the MSM too, so I can know how to counter the propaganda.
People work two jobs, and do not have time to research. So bloggers do it for them.
Hey, I wonder if it was Andy Card who decided to blame the media for not reporting "all that good news" from Iraq? He quit (link here), perhaps because that one backfired big time?
