But we’ll not look a gift horse in the mouth now that DFA (formerly: Dean for America) is finally using their huge resources to promote the “horse sense” of demanding paper ballots when we vote in our American democracy.
Watch their new flash video, sign their petition to your elected officials, spread the word…
Now if the 50 states with 3000 some odd counties and differing election methods will get horse sense and get on board too.
Good start, but they -still- allow for machines. The petition isn’t to get rid of machines "all together", which is all we should accept.
There is NO excuse to include the cost and risk of machines in our electoral process. There is also no longer a need for the Electoral College given the speed with which we can get information around the country and world. We should dump ALL the voting machines for pure paper-people voting, and dump this college crap and go with straight voting. Let the "people" decide (truely) who they want running the show. Stop gaming the system, it’s killing our Democracy.
Will wonders never cease? This shows the power of the blogosphere; this issue was toxic, even for Democrats, until we forced the issue…of course, a few lawsuits and a few revealing tests played a role.

I responded to Dr. Dean’s recent email asking for money for the ’06 elections by telling him/them NO!! NOT UNTIL YOU DO WHAT IT TAKES TO ENSURE OUR VOTES WILL BE COUNTED, AND COUNTED CORRECTLY!!
I SUGGEST EVERYONE ELSE DO THE SAME!!

Our whacko in MN wants to pass a law that requires people to show a valid ID if they want to vote.
It’s so damn obvious what their intentions are.
As glad as I am to see them jump in, I wish there were clear about the diff between paper ballots and a paper trail or record. They seem to have fallen for the vendor reinforced notion that these are all the same thing. BAD.

The increasingly certain method for detecting election fraud is going to come from exit poll science:
"Exit polling is a well-developed science, informed by half a century of experience and continually improving methodology"

It is the number one weapon against fraudulent elections. But as with most fraud, the strength and the weakness in all systems is in the people of the system.
We know that "Edison/Mitofsky samples voters for a nationwide exit poll as well as for each state’s exit poll" (ibid).
We know then, where the attack to establish the coverup will come from. We can expect a major movement to corrupt Edison/Mitofsky from the inside. That is the pattern we see in the electronic voting machine industry.
