I guess it was about a year ago when my brother asked me if we were now a 'rogue nation'. I said no, but it was a close call.
What can I say now? If America isn't a rogue nation now then what would you call a nation which does these things?
How can there be anyone left in America who supports Bush? Do they all favor torture and false imprisonment and perpetual war against ... against whom? Who exactly is the enemy now, Iraqi nationalists? What right have we to be in Iraq?

MarkH, we were a "rogue nation" as soon as we invaded Iraq illegally and without the support of the UN.
The Administration trumped up a bunch of lies and used thoem as an excuse to illegally invade a country.. what more do you need to be "rogue"?
Add to that the likelihood that OUR OWN GOVERNMENT was involved in Sept. 11, 2001 (if not at least just comlicit, they also attacked the Pentagon.. there WAS NO PASSENGER LINER ON THE LAWN!). You have a country attacking it's self in an attempt to gain support and willingness to accept it's coming lies to get into an illegal war.
Make no mistake, Shrubby is a war criminal, period. Halliburton is war profiteering and Cheney has made over $200,000,000 on this deal. We have such rampant corruption in our Government as to have Congresspersons "step down and admit to taking bribes", and many more under investigations and indictments..
How is that not rogue?

And, YET the * administration is completely unfettered. We have not stopped them. We have not even tried to stop them. We just hang out on the internet or in front of the White House with signs. Saddam gasses thousands. * blows up thousands. The rest of the people of both countries did/do diddly about it. Maybe the Chinese will come in and liberate us from our dictator....

We certainly have a rogue republican government. A lawless republican president and a rubber stamp republican congress.
The republican congress is making a calculated attempt to distance themselves from the republican president. They think that americans will forget that they have been a rubber stamp these many years. They think the american people do not remember.
I hope america does not let the republicans off the hook. They deserve to be shafted, and shafted big, big time.
We have a rogue republican government that is deceitful and criminal above and beyond the call of corruption.
November ... will it be a magic month or the month the music died?

Exactly what I meant!
The republicans have done everything and will do anything to make the US look as bad as possible.
So join in and help us clean up America by voting the republican dictatorship out.

Hey, Icky, we don't have to do anything at all to make the actions of what used to be (and will once again be, believe it!) our great country look bad. The rest of the world is cringing while Americans hit the snooze alarm button yet one more time. It's time to ask the Ukrainians to send a delegation over to help us out of this mess. And it's way past time for you, my friend, to learn to think for yourself.

It takes guts to come out in your own community & fight this, you risk becoming a social pariah.
Especially in small rural towns, where you are in the minority--people don't want to hear conflict or get involved.
It's easier in big cities--you have enough people who feel the same to organize & act in large groups.
Running down Bush's Administration in public is akin to running down someone's religion in public, it's not taken well by most.
In small towns they NEVER forget--the repercussions can go on for years--they know you personally & all your family, unlike big cities where you're almost anonymous when you protest.
I'd like to say the social pressure doesn't bother me--but truthfully, it does.
I have children here. What I do affects them.
I try not to let it stop me though.
Yes, it takes major courage & committment in a small town.
I remind myself of our troop's ultimate courage & commitment--they're DYING every day over Bush's weaselly crap.
It keeps me going.
I do it for the sake of my country--can you?
