Computerworld has just today reported on the fact that ES&S has backed out of Leon County, FL. That’s ten days after the news was reported by the on-line media. In the mean time the Washington Post has done their second report in two days on voting issues. And the embattled Diebold has put out a press release that misinforms and obfuscates on the accuracy of their DREs….

Any word yet on what Utah is currently looking at regarding the machine and voter verified paper ballots/audits?
I’ve been on them non-stop and I want to know if these guys are serious about getting real election procedure safety installed….

Hi,
I have been passing information along to a Republican friend of mine who has served on a city council in Orange County , Ca.. Almost every time I email information on electronic voting fraud he comes back with a voter I. D. question. Is there any way we could have a free and fair system of voter I. D. that would satisfy honest progressives and conservatives?
Yes if people were forced to verify they lived at the address that they give, then, that would eliminate most types of voter fraud.
NOT photo IDs thats going too far.
Doug
Diane #4 –
The issue with VoterID is that most of the laws require that, in some way, the person prove they are a US citizen and that they live at a certain address. The proof of citizenship may not be all that easy for some people.
How about the victims of Katrina? Do they have all of their birth certificates, marriage license, etc. Can they get them or know where to get them?
It can be a problem for some people and those people tend to be people who are Democrats.
In Arizona they have a voter ID requirement and they had a huge problem because women we having to find their marriage license and birth certificate because they changed their names when they got married so one document was not good enough.
Forget the voter ID. In fact we need to kill the Real ID card that is coming soon.
Diane – Hit your friend with FACTS. Send him this link to this article on the MYTH of Voter Fraud
And then, ask him why he’s not concerned about Photo ID for absentee voters or military voters.
His line is a scam. Ask him for *any* evidence of the "Voter Fraud" he mentions in the O.C.
I am very interested this theme, with attention I will read following informations.
