Let's not be bigots... Moloch-worship, although unusual to ordinary people like you and me, is a popular religion among certain groups of people (especially in Phonecia and at the Bohemian Grove). Incinerating children might seem unusual to middle America, but the Moloch worshippers are not alone in this practice.... it is also common amongst the worshippers of Cronos, Saturn, and Ba'al Hammon. And when you are so darned good at satisfying Moloch's appetite for carnage, it only makes sense that he'd give you a direct line.
I really think that the GOP should run with their religious diversity.... I mean they have proven that they are "cool" with the entire pantheon of gods that us less-enlightened folks refer to as demons. And they still let people try to serve both Jesus and one of these evil deities. In fact, they deny that there is a contradiction between sacrificing blood to the gods of war while praying to Jesus.
Theirs is a profound new vision of religious plurality.

What's it called when someone hears voices that call them to do bad things? Hmmm, let me see...
Supreme Court to Dubya: How do you plead?
Dubya: Not reason by guilty of association with God.
WTF?
How can you find someone that stupid of being guilty of crimes when he obviously plays crazy so well? It's a wackier defense than Reagan's "I can't remember".

It looks like one bit of truth slipped into the same old speech today about fighting terror. Think of how ironic it is that GWB said this:
"Evil men, obsessed with ambition and unburdened by conscience, must be taken very seriously --- and we must stop them before their crimes can multiply."

People of all faiths agree God (Allah) is all knowing and wise. They might see God differently and worship Him (Her?) differently, but they know His wisdom is perfect.
On that basis, there is no way under the sun God would ever have chosen a nincompoop like Bush to carry out a deadly task like invading Iraq.

from bushits latest speech ,in brackets is the original ,
"Bush(Bin Laden) says his own role is to tell Americans(Muslims): 'What is good for them and what is not.' And what this man who grew up in wealth and privilege considers good for poor Americans(Muslims) is that they become killers and soldiers(suicide bombers). He assures them that this is the road to paradise, though he never offers to go along for the ride," Osama(Bush) said.

I was about to turn it off but then became spellbound as I listened to him talking about himself. I wondered if the speechwriter was pulling one over on him. I only caught the last few minutes but those with eyes to see and ears to hear can see the message being given was detailing everything he had done. Amazing.

Unless I claim those voices are "god".. then I get special attention from religious zealots who ponder if I'm blessed.. and if those voices encourage me to action.. if those actions "fit" in the "religious agenda", I"m a hero doing god's work..

I realize this fits into your political fantasy, guys, but how gullible do you have to be to buy this load of crap. The sad part is that the BBC even considers this a news story. (Sir David Frost has moved from the BBC to al-Jazeera, which is not that great of a change, except in the size of his paycheck.) One of the sources for this "documentary" is a professional Palestinian liar (for Arafat) and the other denies there was even a Holocaust. So you're in good company. Did you also believe Bagdad Bob was telling the truth? Among Arabs, telling the truth is not a virtue. Right and Wrong are not basic values. (Right and Wrong are Judeo-Christian values.) That's not how the Arab World works. They value reputation, "face," respect, image, pride--stuff like that. Truth telling does not send you to the head of the class in that culture. Millions of them believe Jews kill non-Jews to use their blood in baking matzah.

A Newsweek (or maybe Time?) feature three years ago focused on Bush's faith, and how Bush has sincerely believed for some time that he was destined by God to bring peace to the Middle East. So I do believe he made the comment. And since he is used to being surrounded by hand-picked advisors who don't challenge his reasoning, policies, or priorities, perhaps in certain situations he is prone to blurt something once in a while that he might feel safe saying among his neo-conservative and born-again cronies.
PS It ALSO amazes me the way so many things Bush claims about the terrorist agenda can also be said to be true for the neoconservative agenda.

I am sure that W will have hell to pay, especially for claiming that God told him to cause the misery in Iraq and for allowing torture of other human beings, but also for not feeding America's poor and in fact stealing from the poor to make his friends rich, for supporting environemntal policies that will ultimately affect the whole world negatively, for not allowing stem-cell research that could help hundreds of thousands of people, and countless other things that are too numerous to name. Has anyone thought that Mr Ciung and others alike here might not be "uniformed" or plain republicans, but some sort of "propaganda" agents.
Think about it... All the "normal" media outlets - TV, Radio, printed paper - are a mouthpiece of the fascist government covering up everything from porn to war crimes. The internet is the only thing they can't control.
That doesn't mean they aren't trying. Heard about FBI closing Alex Jones' ring (PrisonPlanet&co) for publishing "disinformation" ?
They actually "can't" shut down all the sites. You can move bradblog to a server in China and give the finger to the fedz.
So... the best way to counter these kinds of sites is to have "agents" to serve as a mouthpiece for the government.
I've been o many sites, blogs and chats and, after a while you start to notice some things. "Normal" people, aka Fox-brainwashies, have different responses from what I call "agents". There are a kind of "people" that reiterate the same ideeas to the letter you can read in a WH statement or on a Fox news report.
They are immune to any kind of reasoning and providing them with evindece in a certain matter has no effect. They keep rambling on the next topic as nothing happens.
Take the statement about arabs above. It is clear that this man (woman?) above with a chineese nickname, has a sole mission to spread disinformation.
I say beware. These people are here to make your articles, debates, shit, even your ideeas, "questionable" in the eyes of "outsiders".
Ask the admin of the site to track the ip Chung and others and find out a little bit about them.

I will applaud Bill Gates for his idea that every home should have a computer. This has not helped the fascists however. This country would have been gone a long time ago IMHO if it were not for the net. I have stated before, I have not been online for sometime, but have read lots of books. My books were my lifeline to 'reality' but I really felt quite alone as I had no one to share with. I am so glad to find the blogosphere and now I know that I am not alone! I rather guess that the reason the PNAC crowd is on fast track is that they are having a hard time keeping up with the blogs. The information is getting out as quickly as it happens. This is not news to anyone here I know, but I bet it would be to bush. He doesn't read newspapers so I really doubt he can work a computer. I wonder if his bar fly daughters ever bother to read about what sane America thinks of their idiot father. I am sure Stepford Laura isn't allowed near one, and she is the only one that would probably care to take a look. (I believe with all my heart that she hates him too.)

Fundamentalism has a lot in common with totalitarianism. Some of you have mentioned Brainwashing a la Fox news, and Kool-aid drinkers in the White House... Here's how it works in totalitarian regimes and some cults, according to RJ Lifton! You guys can connect the dots yourselves pretty well --- not every cultish organization has every one of these points, and they will manifest to varying degrees --- how much do you all think the current White House culture has (or is trying to maintain) these traits?
MILIEU CONTROL: control of communication and behavior in a given environment (e.g. not allowing gay marriage! no real news coverage of the war allowed!)
MYSTICAL MANIPULATION: manipulation of events to make them seem to reinforce the sacred purpose of the group. (Remember the distortion of facts leading up to the invasion of Iraq?)
CULT OF CONFESSION: unhealthy self-disclosure in group settings, especially confessing doubts about the group or leader so they can be purged.
DEMAND FOR PURITY: Individuals are encouraged to constantly push towards an unattainable "perfection." This may be rewarded with promotion within the group to higher levels (Supreme Court appointments for those showing "Pure" loyalty??)
SACRED SCIENCE: The dogma of the group is presented as scientifically correct or otherwise unquestionable.
LOADED LANGUAGE: Words with emotional weight and ambiguous and shifting meanings are used. Existing words are given new and different meaning. Black-and-white thinking is embedded in the language, so that wrong-doers are framed as terrible/evil, while those who do "right" are praised. (Freedom vs. totalitarianism. Freedom vs. “terror” “shock and awe”)
DOCTRINE OVER PERSON: The group's ideas and values subordinate personal considerations. Likewise, the beliefs, values and words of those outside the group, and those who disagree with the group, are invalid.
DISPENSING OF EXISTENCE: The group leader determines who is deserving of acknowledgement as a human being. People outside the group are generally considered less-than-human, less deserving of life. Only those who are "with" the group may be saved from being damned, doomed, bombed, etc. (Who cares about those poor folks anyway?)

#65 - How could those who oppose the current situation be any kind of organized force without the internet. I wonder how vulnerable it is and what would we do without it. I wonder if we need some kind of a backup plan. I depend on BradBlog and RawStory for the truth. Not everyone is plugged in, though. What %age of the population is? And of that %age, how many ever find BB or RS? I think some effort should be expended on getting the message out into the mainstream. Liberals with $ need to buy some national radio and TV stations and broadcast 24 hours the truth. It wouldn't hurt to have a few newspapers, too. The liberals have to take back the media somehow so that the accusations of liberal media will again be true.

#66 I read your comment with great interest. I have not visited the sites you reference but heartily agree with what you quoted. One can easily see how people are manipulated. I watched a documentary on how crowds are induced to mass histeria, ie: evangelicals, dictators, bushes base. The whole 'show' is carefully choreographed, down to the music (rhythm which acts on the subconsious to arouse). The energy in the room arouses the crowd and pretty soon everyone is on the same page. (Think Orwell's 1984 and his BB hate speeches)
I have also read a great deal on "Secret Societies". I have come to the conclusion that in the beginning these were necessary to provide an avenue for preservation of ancient knowledge. Knowledge that those in power wanted hidden in order to control the masses. I believe these societies became corrupt over the ages by those that became obsessed with their individual power. The 'underground' knowledge is now, and has been for some time, coming to the foreground. These societies are still pretending that they possess all this 'secret' info, but in fact, it is no longer secret and any one interested can find that out.
Science....Sacred. Well, yes. It is, isn't it. Anyone who disagrees with the old view of the world is outed by the established scientific community. I do see this changing as more and more information is coming out now that is showing that maybe, just maybe, our 'scientists' had it wrong. This information is shaking the scientific community and they are fighting hard to keep their outdated view of reality intact. IMO they are losing. But so are our children. Our children are still being taught from books that are 20 years behind times. (My son had to introduce his 'science' teacher to Chaos Theory).
Black and white thinking, yes, good or bad. Everyone now has a label. This is so crazy. The Team concept. All or nothing.
I will end now, my post is getting so long, but thanks for your excellent post. M4

#67 Marain I am late in arriving to the blogs. I do wonder how they will successfully turn off the internet. Those that know how this whole thing works, can say if that is possible. I know blackouts are one way to do it but a nationwide blackout would hurt corporate america. I suppose they could target specific servers, but then again wouldn't that hurt the corporate bottom line. I just don't know enough about this stuff to know. I have let a few people I know about some sites. They may let a few people they know, and then on it goes, just like a chain letter..dah..dah.
P.S.
I gave up on MSM awhile ago. I don't think we are going to get any help from them in our fight for freedom. Sadly they want their families living in a fascist state.

Whether or not W said god told him to do anything, it is still true and is not anything new that he uses his profession of faith for his own personal gain. This article from RS is worth a read:
The Church of Bush
IMO, the important question remains how to shift the believers so that they see the wolf in sheep's clothing.

About the cult characteristics I outlined above... I'm glad you find them interesting, Merifour. I should qualify what I'm saying though... I am not sure if I believe there is some conscious secret society conspiracy. But there is quite a cabal in the WHite House right now. Any kind of organization can develop cult-like characteristics to different degrees: these all function to secure power and exercise more control over others. I definitely see some of these dynamics at work in the Bush administration, and the God issue is clearly part of this controlling rhetoric. The more Bush & Co. talk about God and the US's heroic mission to bring "freedom" to the world, the less we hear and learn about actual economic and political situations that affect peoples' lives. Bush rhetoric polarizes public discourse in such a way that people are totally distracted from pressing material issues, such as the effects of US economic policy in the Middle East, energy and environmental issues, corporate corruption, poverty, education, health care, etc.

#73 KM, I thought about the 'secret society' info I posted, after I wrote my comment. I was referring to 'Secret Societies' going back 2000+ years, not to the "secret government, shadow government'' topic of today.Though I do believe there is a cabal that is working behind the scenes to manipulate the general populace, that has a so called 'secret' agenda, I was not referring to them in my previous post. I further believe the cabal is global.
I agree that the use of God is one of the tools of the part of the cabal operating in this country. I just don't understand why many students of the 'end time' school have not figured out the players. When one reads the Bible, it is clear that there will be those that are false leaders. Why has 'bushes base' disregarded this MAJOR detail.
The agenda appears to be to keep everyone on life support so no one has the time or energy (pun) to explore the real issues. I am so overwhelmed just trying to keep up. Being in a God box is very safe and secure for many and with bushco holding the key, I fear they will never get out. M4
