Taft charged with misdemeanor, possible six-month jail sentence (never happen).
And Taft might be the cleanest politician in the state!

ATTN BERNIE FROM NASHVILLE:
I'm due south of you, almost on the Alabama line.
Is there a mailing list for activities in Nashville and surrounding areas? It's hard for me to make it on a weekday (family obligations) but if I can plan ahead it would help. I've got friends on a homeschoolers list that keep me somewhat informed, but I'm afraid I'm missing important events.
Thanks.

ACTION ALERT!!!!
Hey, this just isn't right. Think maybe 6 or 7 of us can do something to fix it?

Texas Marine told he's not state resident, must pay higher tuition
He's registered to vote in Texas, has a Texas driver's license and does his banking there. But he says officials told him that's not enough to qualify him for the lower tuition Texas residents pay.
That means he'd have to pay around 26-hundred dollars a semester in tuition, instead of about 500 dollars.

I hope this information is right, this is what I found:

If VP Cheney or the military expects a nuke attack, then I have to ask, what are we doing or going to be doing to provoke it?
Maybe that's cynical, but we do seem to be at the heart of our own problems these days. We're our own worst danger, selling weaponry everywhere and then ticking off people by overthrowing governments and whatnot.

re #13, Hi Mark: My read on it is: Cheney expects an attack because he is organizing it. I can't prove it --- I'm just reading between the lines --- but this is how it looks to me.
All the foreign governments we've ticked off know better than to mess with USA. Too bad the same doesn't hold true for the so-called "leaders" we have supposedly "elected".

Drills prepare responders for terrorism
To kick off North Carolina's biggest anti-terrorism drill, Fort Bragg soldiers stormed a bus full of visiting congressional dignitaries held hostage early Monday. Then they teamed up with an elite FBI unit to track down terrorists who spirited those captives away.
This sprawling, four-day exercise involves more than 80 state, federal and local agencies. It continues today with a mock raid on a terrorist safe house at Fort Bragg and a retaliatory strike with a radioactive "dirty bomb."

Raw intel: Ft. Monroe / Charleston nuke drill rescheduled for Aug. 18 (Thursday)
August 17 8pm EDT --- UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE --- Naval source says U.S. Navy drill scheduled for Charleston Harbor today, Aug. 17, has been RESCHEDULED for Thursday afternoon, at approximately 3:30pm.
Source confirms drill is tied to NORTHCOM nuclear terror command drill at Ft. Monroe.
(Total411.info) Aug. 16 --- RAW INTEL UNVERIFIED --- Someone claiming to be in the Navy posted the following comment to total911.info. This website has communicated further with the source, who seems credible. This is what the source posted:
I am navy here in charleston....i know for a fact that the nurses in charge of the clinics in the hospital in north charleston, which is just a few blocks away from the harbor have "freed" up the doctors sched tomorrow so they can attend said drill. i was talking about this to a fellow corpsman and one of the head nurses said we weren't to talk about it, and that he had just freed up the docs to attend the drill. its not to be common knowledge he said. there where no other details discussed.
Interviewing further the source, one of the games being played military spokesmen becomes apparent. You see, the Charleston Naval Base is based in the city of North Charleston, South Carolina. So when NORTHCOMM told the Charleston Post and Courier there were no drills scheduled for Charleston --- that didn't include North Charleston, which is a different city. North Charleston contains the Naval ports --- "ports off Charleston."

Undermanned Naval Hospital told to prepare extra beds...
Fear that New World Order types will make the drill go live is palpable.

I fear that in their desperation, the neo-cons will attempt some sort of attack imminently... and worse, that they succeed in rallying the public behind them again thanks to our see-no-evil press...
Did anyone catch Leno tonight? Best monologue ever. Among other remarks solidly skewering Bush, he said while Bush was on vacation, it's been reported he's been reading mostly non-fiction. He saves the fiction for when he's looking for an excuse to invade another country... and he popped up out of Crawford, saw his shadow and went back down for 6 more weeks of vacation... Anyone know who may have video of this incredible monologue?

I want to thank Topanga Peace Alliance for so kindly offering to help veterans who served in Iraq make the trip to Crawford. I had the opportunity to join them for a meeting in June while down in So. Califormia. Very nice people --- lovely neck of the woods.
Please spread the word, if you know of a veteran who served in Iraq who may want to make the trip to Camp Casey, and could use some assistance
More information here!

This thread seems to be dying way down here near the bottom.
Anyway here's more coming out about the WMD lead-up to the war.
From CNN: Former aide: Powell WMD speech 'lowest point in my life'
It will be interesting to see how they handle the story in thier report.
Does anyone know anything about the National Geographic report on 911 this Sunday?
