Al Gore was wrong, there is a 800 year lag in the graph he spread across the whole stage... CO2 lags 800 years behind temp... all the planets are warming... the lies is that CO2 is the main driver of climate change... what about government experimenting with weather modification... it is not as simple as CO2, you can not just scapegoat CO2, we need to live in harmony with nature, not just stop CO2 output! We need to be critical and really understand something, not just act out of fear.

If you really care about CO2, hemp is solution that would sequester carbon the most carbon and stop trees from being cut down, which are big absorber of CO2!

My sympathies for poor wrongly accused CO2...The worst part is that not only was Gore wrong but virtually all climate scientists are wrong. It's an outrage!

What is strange is that those hundreds of scientists didn't notice the 800 year lag. Boy, their game is off. If they read Brad Blog, I hope they are sufficiently contrite and grateful for your setting the record straight.

"Mitch" "Matt" and "John" --- as you know, the vast majority of climate scientists reject your incorrect interpretation of their work.
BTW, 'cuz I said so' isn't a convincing argument, so how about backing up your claims with a link and a cite to scientific literature? Potshots at Gore are so 2008. You both ought to consider updating your denier myth talking points.
FYI, you're both wrong about the basic facts of the properties and functions of CO2. It is true, Mitch "Matt", that deforestation is a major source of ecological destruction and emissions that must be curtailed, and that hemp is a potentially viable solution as part of a comprehensive climate change mitigation and adaptation plan.
For those interested in pre-bunking their assumptions about climate change, go to the exceptional SkepticalScience.com, where you'll find an easy-to-use complete database of skeptic/denier arguments, along with accessible explanations of the facts, using the actual primary scientific literature.

John and Matt -
I too look forward to your cite of evidence supporting your disinformed claims above. The "all planets are warming" one is particular fun (and long ago debunked as nonsense, but don't let that stop you from presenting your evidence for it, since you seem to have forgotten to!)
But, since Desi didn't mention it specifically, I wanted to make sure that Matt offers a specific cite to the claim that "CO2 lags 800 years behind temp". Mind citing the source of your "science" there? Looking forward to it! Thanks in advance!

Hello Desi and Brad,
I could be wrong but I think that John McDonald was using sarcasm in responding to Matt Titchenal and his less than full grasp of reality.

Sorry folks, I thought my sarcasm was obvious!

I used to comment regularly on Brad Blog under another name (that of my dog who has, rest his soul, passed on). Old timers would have known immediately that I was giving in to the weakness of sarcasm again; but as I'm the real me now, how would anyone know?

Kenneth and John - thanks for pointing that out! Deniers are so tiresome, and are getting so weird and absurd in their desperation, one can never be too sure if their claims are genuine or satire.
And welcome back, John!

I will deny climate change until my socks are soaked. (Sarcasm --- here is a news story that makes climate change more real http://news.yahoo.com/fl...evel-rise-083635582.html.) Back to BP, who knew that BP is not "Beyond Petroleum" anymore? After making photo-voltaic solar panels for many years, BP pulled the plug on production. I discovered this by accident while investigating possibly adding to our existing solar power production on our house. I suppose whomever headed that department at BP has been discharged. (Insert rimshot)
