Early voting started in Florida today. Tomorrow is primary election day in Alaska and Wyoming / It looks like officials in Auglaize Co. Ohio may have some problems responding to a new law suit that was filed today. They are accused, in part, of artificially swelling the voter rolls just to get a bigger piece of the HAVA funds pie./ Zogby will release a new poll tomorrow that shows that 92% of Americans Oppose Secret Vote Counting…

I voted yesterday in Florida’s primary election. I’d like to encourage everyone in Florida to take advantage of the early voting opportunity for several reasons. Primarily because there were no electronic voting machines. I was given a paper ballot which I marked with a pen. There will at least be a paper record of the vote, though whether it may be recounted is in doubt. At least it made me feel better that the paper exists. At early voting anyone from the county can come vote, and since there are several different ballots for different areas of the county, programming the electronic machines would present a problem. So, I gave them my driver’s license and got my paper ballot which corresponded to my area. I happily marked Clint Curtis’s name for congress on the paper with a pen! I wished I had a camera so I could have taken a picture of it. Another great thing about it was that there was no wait. I got off work at 5, made it to pick up my daughter and to the polling place by 5:50. The polls close at 6, so I was a little concerned I might not make it. However I just walked right in, and the whole process took about 3 minutes. No line, no wait, no problem. Everyone in FL-24 get out and vote early! Remember – vote early, vote often! 🙂
