Anyone who completely ignores a historic election as this blog did deserves nothing.People, put your votes elsewhere.
Besides, when he loses he will just claim voter fraud like he usually does.

Medium Right & Ricky
I am sure it is not the vote for the Bill of Rights you are speaking about is it?
Doncha know that vote is over and we won in the late 18th century? Get over it, you neoCons are not going to change that. You lost, we have our human, civil, and liberty rights. It is no longer up for a vote.
The "voting" you speak of seems to be voting for the one who smells the least and then smelling the stench of the results and the dead bodies until the next smellathon.
You can have your vote and we will have our Bill of Rights as we will put the neoConvicts in jail.
I will vote for Brad Blog because the dialogue here includes an awareness that we are struggling against ourselves (link here) and that you trolls do it with frogs.

It is not amazing how we wonderful, loving, fair, honest, open, and Human Rights, Civil Rights, and Liberty Rights oriented American liberals and moderates see what is important and how important voting issues are.
Your straw man "voting doesnt matter" is another sign of dishonesty. See, honesty is important even tho we do not vote for it.
The Bill of Rights are important too, but we do not vote for them anymore. We won.
And we are the winners at this moment in time. The majority of Americans see you neoCons for what you are. You lost.
You neoCons are great advocates for a nebulous, vague, and uncertain "election" in a country far away in an "election" for things you do not even know about.
If you were an Iraqi who would you vote for to bring the invasion and occupation of your country to an end?
Or does it not matter that you are invaded and occupied so long as you can put paper in a box?

It amazes me how little he makes of elections describing it as merely "put paper in a box."
"PUT PAPER IN A BOX"!!! Is that all it is?????
Ill assume all liberals that frequent this site believe that same as none a speaking against such unbelievable comments.
Im glad you dont are about elections, the chances of you winning one anytime soon are 0%. Why vote for someone who doesnt value voting?

You can call that election historical, if you like, but it's not.
Unless the USA continues its presence in Iraq (which guarantees more dead and maimed Americans), the country will remain in chaos, no matter how many elections they have.
Bluebear 2's link in #6 is a telling one. Calling that an historic election is dressing a wolf in sheep's clothing.
I see a point is being missed. Maybe Dredd should have said: "...does it not matter that you are INVADED AND OCCUPIED so long as you can have an 'historic election'?"
It's not going well over there (a gross understatement), and that's not likely to change anytime soon. That is what is truly historic.

Here's what historical: Our president is not only spying on Americans - whom he can have defined as terrorists or other threats, as he pleases (which, it turns out - and not surprisingly - is anyone who opposes him or his policies)...he is now saying that whomever "leaked" the fact that he was, and had personally approved of such spying is "shameful." Many things that this administration has done are shameful beyond description - but someone telling the American public the truth??
War is peace
Ignorance is strength
Freedom is slavery
Truth is shameful

Mark Twain made a quote that applies well on this point:
"...Next the statesmen will invent cheap lies, putting the blame upon the nation that is attacked, and every man will be glad of those conscience-soothing falsities, and will diligently study them, and refuse to examine any refutations of them; and thus he will by and by convince himself that the war is just, and will thank God for the better sleep he enjoys after this process of grotesque self-deception."
Mega-dittoes, Mark....But, not "every man". I'm not glad about it.

Medium Right --- Your dishonesty shows like a flashing neon sign. You've been around BB long enough to know that the primary focus is on fair elections. It is really childish to hope others won't remember it - just this one time.
The big difference between BB regulars and you is that most of us realize that the conditions and qualities of elections are of primary importance and that rights and liberties are derived from the people, not imposed or manipulated as a condition of occupation or as a front for imperialism.
Elections are unquestionably a tool of political manipulation and sleight-of-hand. It has probably been the case more often than not throughout the world. In fact, the U.S. is a master of third world election manipulation, and now, it appears, domestic shenanigans as well.
The foundation of liberty is a condition of free, vital elections; not a result.
So get out your plastic flag (Wal-Mart special) and your red-white-and-blue Dick and Jane coloring book if you can't face the reality of power politics and the fact that the workings of powerful "interests" (and domestic chaos) are what you see in Iraq, not democracy.

Anything that is a current fundamental American right cannot be voted in or out. Neither In the abstract nor in the concrete.
We can't vote for our religious favorite, whether that religion is athiestic or deistic. We can't vote for a religion to be the state religion. To practice religion or not is more important than issues that can be voted in or out.
We can't vote in or out free speech. It is more important than issues that can be voted in or out.
We can't vote in or out due process of law, the right to remain silent, the right to confront any witness that said we did something wrong, or that an indictment be presented to a grand jury before we are charged with a felony.
We can't vote in or out the right to a trial by a jury of our peers. It is too important to be a matter of elections.
Yes, fellow Americans, we have our rights in the bank and that is something to be happy about.
If these treasures could be voted in or out the neoCons that run Diebold and the elections would take all that away from us. Thru hackable machines.
Rejoice. The hackers can only harass us with incompetent folk they rig elections for.
Elections are a second rate part of American Government, but anything that is a part of the consent of the governed must be honest, open, and above board. So I support and demand good elections.
We have no right as individuals to vote for president of the United States of America in our country, a democracy. The state legislatures are the only ones that have that constitutional right. Yes, politicans have that plenary power.
But that is not so bad, because voting for president is not the greatest right. It is one I think we should have as individuals, yet I would rather have free speech than my choice of president if it comes down to it.
We can't vote for honesty ... it is a behavior that is personal to individuals and cumulative to nations. It is too important to be relegated to elections.
Medeuim Right is majoring in the minors, and not doing very well at it, because he is ignorant of American jurisprudence and law.

BradBlog is fun to read. After all, watching libersl twist and spin in desperation while they continue to get beat in the political arena is always very entertaining.
How can liberals expect to really win when their own minority leader comes out and says that they will not be taking any position on the war in Iraq. They can reach no consensus, whatsoever.
For the pure entertainment value, BradBlog is a blast to read, but for "what is really happening" ol' Brad has nothing on Michael Yon (michaelyon.blogspot.com.) As a matter of fact, Michael's picture titled "In His Arms" is currently leading (by far) on the Time Magazine poll of the best photos of the year.
While Brad is bouncing around from talk show to talk show and rubbing shoulders with Huffington, Michael Yon is a blogger who has been spending his time on the ground in Iraq (away from the green zone, might I add) and reporting the true story of progress the the liberal press won't report.
I will vote for Michael Yon. Brad just doesn't hold a candle compared to him.

Okay...it's me, the guy who likes and financially supports this blog, but really doesn't like "stay on top" post concept...especially this one.
A self-serving "vote for me" post glued to the top as an important issue?
Look...if this blog is good, it will succeed and people will spread the word. Asking for votes seems, well, rather lame.
Does anybody really care about getting some award?
Okay...it's your blog so do what makes you feel good I just think that this is particularly, well, I don't know. It just seems lame to me asking for people to vote for you in some poll, and actually gluing it to the top of your blog as being more important than all the "truly great" reporting you're doing on issues that really concern the rest of us.
This one doesn't to me. Does it to anybody else?
Regardless, I'll come back again once the "stay on top" is gone so I can look to see the that real important news is.

For the trolls: You will outright dismiss this because it comes from a major Seattle newspaper (Our motto: We don't get any respect. We're gayer than San Francisco, but we still can't get O'Reilly to hate us as much. )
But anyway, here's an article from the Seattle P-I about how much confidence the troops ahve in our leadership and our mission in Iraq:

What is important is that Brad Blog exists. We are not voting on that.
It is not as important that we blogggers vote it the best, but what is most important is that BB free speech exists.
Things we vote on are not as important as universal, self evident, and fundamental human rights ... such as free speech ... which is what we exercise here.
I vote BB number one anyway, because BB is number uno to those of us who understand blogging.

Get a grip, your intellectual dishonesty is going to ruin your conscience if you do not repent and join forces with the good liberals who care about getting rid of the Spy in Chief.

Most blogs give people free speech. Thats not something to be applauded, but expected. I guess in liberal circles free speech isnt normal.
This blog ignores things that make america look good.(iraqi election for example.) This blog is all about making America look as bad as it can so positive stories are ignored.
This blog deserves nothing.

Can you cite any authority or link that shows "most blogs give people free speech"?
Time after time we hear that when liberals or moderates go to the neoCon rightwing blogs they are censored heavily.
What right wing blog would you suggest as a test of your hypothesis? Several of us could go there where you post a lot, and test this notion of yours.
BTW no one here tries to make America look bad. What we do here is make the Spy in Chief and the Torture Barons look bad. And it is not really hard to do with the neoCon to neoConvict movement going along in full dork ahead mode.
