What in God's name happened in New Orleans and beyond????? It totally boggles the mind! Just watch CNN, MSNBC, Fox! My jaw is on the floor! I can't imagine what those people are going through!
Scary? That's the understatement of the decade!
Husbands separated from wives!
Brothers separated from sisters!
Parents separated from children!
Aunts separated from uncles!
Senior citizens trapped without food, water, and medicine!
If this doesn't freeze you up and cause your jaw to drop, nothing will!

I have not listened to the Lars show yet....but I hope people caught the Daily Show's spot-on clips of our president's EXEMPLORARY behavior during this crisis.
What a colossal disgrace.
I am watching it, taking a break from emailing that previously posted letter to senators. It's slow going but I'm sending it to as many as I can, goddammit.

Way to keep your coooool and make your points Brad. Sometimes between breaks you really got to wonder is this guy really fcking American.
Should the Bushit administration take any responsibility for 911?
No it was 20 angry arab terrorists.
Should the Bushit administration take any responsibility for illegally attacking Iraq?
No Sadam was evil and we needed to give those Iraqi people a constitution like in America so they can be free.
Should we blame the Bushit administration for reversing over 400 environmental laws and standards or not signing the Kyoko treaty cowritten by Al Gore and signed by 189 industrial nations to reduce carbon dioxide?
No Bushit anti-scientists say there is no problem with polar ice caps melting. 300 top environmental scientists are wrong.
Should the Bushit administration be held accountable for the last 2 rigged Presidential elections?
Testemony of massive humanistic fraud and electronic voting machine fraud by voting machine companies run by convicted felons that donated to the Bushit administration and counted the votes in secrecy without a paper trail didn't happen. Thus there is no problem with our voting system and it's the responsibility of each individual state.
Should George Dubbya take any responsibility for the deaths of Americans in New Orleans?
No it is not the responsibility of the President of the most powerful nation in the world to take care of his people and help with evacuation to safety. To ensure the poor, the old, or the sick received food, water, and medicine to survive in a nature desaster on US shores under his watch is not his responsibility at all. Like Lars pointed out, these 40,000 dead should have been carrying water on their back and a candy bar in their pocket in preparation. The fact that Bushit administration knew it would cost 250 million to fix the levies 3 years ago and the spending for this was cut to 40 million is irrelevant. It's OK if we spend billions of dollars and American lives to bring freedom to Iraq so we can guard their oil wells from the likes of Bin Laden. The only thing our president need is a guitar lesson because the sound of death is getting very loud and he needs to know how to make that sound on a musical instrument.

Jesus, listening to this lars guy is painful. Just painful. Brad keeps asking "Do you hold George accountable for anything? For ANYTHING???"
And the garbled, evasive answer always comes out NO.
It was the mayor. It was the governor. It was the people, those stupid, ill-prepared foolish people who have FUCKING NOTHING. "You can't plead poverty over WATER! It's practically FREE!" says lars. Oh really? Guess you've never been poor, you brainless bastard.
You've said it exactly right, GrizzlyBearDancer. Yeah, the sound of death is very loud but they don't hear it. They never hear it. They are deaf, dumb & blind.

According to RAW Story:
Fema knew this:
FEMA KNEW
These bastards. I am listening to the part about FEMA's response (Lars) now. How Bush really shouldn't have to be concerned while he was playing guitar.
Good for you Brad. These bastards could care less about fellow Americans. Especially those with brown skin. I am surprised they did not lead them to prison camps in shackles.

OMG I am posting as I am listening this.
I would have so asked him why FEMA did not allow the Red Cross and other relief groups to enter the city. And why they forced people to stay in the City at Gunpoint.
OMG!!
Brad you just rock Good for you! You gave him hell. What an oblivious ass. I guess its ok with him for mass genocide to be committed. I am so glad you stood up to him like that. It is about time someone did this.

Great job handing this guy's ass to him, Brad. These people will never understand the difference a strong president can make in these situations, because they don't believe the federal government should do anything but send troops overseas.
Remember how some WH spokesperson said Bush's month-long vacation was necessary so he could make "crisp decisions"? All the brush clearin and guitar strummin in the world could save him from another "my pet goat" moment.

OT - I just sent GWB and Cheney both the same letter. In bold letters: Resign Now!! Next & last sentence: You are a complete and utter failure.
I didn't feel the need to elaborate. It would be nice if they received millions of the same letter. Maybe they would get the message. Impeachment will never happen, but we can pressure their resignation can't we?
Now that I've read the letter on this site to Congressmen I shall do the same and demand a resignation by several in the Bush adm.
Actually, I already sent a letter to one of my Congressmen, a Republican last Saturday. In that letter I stated Brown & Chertoff should be fired and Bush impeached.
Flood all their offices with letters demanding accountability and resignations and firings.
Bush is now going to investigate himself. And that will make who responsible? No one except maybe Nagin & Landrieau.

I read that story about Utah. Things like that are happening everywhere. Listen to Mike Malloy's show from yesterday from White Rose Society.
In Atlanta, he went to their arena where the People from NOLA had been brought, with a ton of diapers and supplies for the people and they turned him away and said "we are not accepting donations."

Anyone remember President Broussard?
He was the one that said FEMA came in and cut his emergency phone lines?
He had to reconnect them and put an armed deputy to guard them
Said this just before his cry on the clip
Why is nobody talking about this?

Hello friends : Winter Patriot, Peg C., Brad and everybody---
Here's one thing I did for New Orleans. I sat down with my list of senators (www.senate.gov) and called all of them but an unreachable few. I asked for the resignations of Bush and Cheney. No one asked me why. It took around an hour and a half to reach about 94 of them. We should not be tolerating this any longer.

Mr. Medium Right: The gratuitous use of the word "moron" in a civil discussion may actually qualify you for the far right camp. So you should be called " Far Right". I believe the moron you speak of is sitting in the white house right now. And I know what THAT means. My use of the word "moron" in reference to Bush is just a partial description of reality (a concept unknown to neo-cons). A more complete description would have to include psycopath, dry drunk, mass murderer, and traitor. Although some people seem to find this acceptable, I'm not among them. Again, trained psychiatrists have described his psychopathic behavior and have diagnosed him. I am just referring to their diagnoses.
And I see you're part of his GOP activist group: Name Callers of Amar'ca. Well, you who settle things with name calling ,lies, slander, incompetence, treason and much much more; are you feelin' pretty proud of yourself for reducing the size of government in New Orleans? How about that nice, tight, downsized government! Why you eliminated that pesky "big government " issue altogether, by simply destroying the city! No city, no big government! Clever. Which city do you want Mr. Bush to work on next? Any ideas? How about yours?

A quick snip from Sen. Reid's questions to the (hopeful) investigating committee:
"The Bush Administration published a National Response Plan for responding to catastrophic incidents, including natural disasters, in December 2004. The plan explicitly states that the federal government can override notification and request for assistance regulations in order to expedite assistance, and that “the coordination process must not delay or impede the rapid deployment and use of critical resources.” Why did the Bush Administration fail to act according to the National Response Plan?"
You Republican apologists who try to lay this on the Mayor and Governor should read that paragraph (and the underlying plan if you are so inclined) very carefully.
Here's the bottom line. This is how the conversation SHOULD have gone:
BUSH (to Chertoff & Brown on SUNDAY!!!): I really don't think those Democratic idiots in New Orleans are doing enough to protect their city. Start sending them more help and move people out on school busses if you have to! Don't wait for them to ask, just do it under the NRP! NOW, because I don't want to lose a single life more than necessary in New Orleans when this storm hits! MOVE! MOVE! MOVE! And you, Rumsfeld, make sure they have every single piece of equipment and personnel ready to move on Monday night! There are going to be tens of thousands in the Superdome and surrounding building, and they are going to need water, food, sanitation, medicine and security right away! GET ON IT! Dismissed.
THAT is what a REAL President would have said. A real POTUS who had been in combat and knew how to give orders and COMMAND, not just smirk and joke and have photo opportunities.
Yes, of course, the above is totally fictional, as what we have instead of a real leader is a spoiled brat, coke-addled, dry-drunk who has never been successful at ANYTHING in his life and was born on third base, having been told (and believing) that he had hit a triple, but still needed a bought umpire and a bad call to get home on a line drive to right field.
BTW, Brad, Lars is SCUM. I've been on his show, and he's disingenuous, intellectually dishonest, and not particularly bright.

As usual, LARS lied.
I finally got to listen to this.
There's a lot of talk a little before halfway through about the Levees breaking on Tuesday, and how nobody could have known on Tuesday, etc. etc.
Except, of course, that the 17th Street Canal levee began to give way on MONDAY morning and it was clear that there was disaster looming.
This article clearly shows it, and this timeline is invaluable in catching all the lies and inaccuracies of the Republican-apologist spin machine.
LARS LIES! It is his basic mechanism for debate. His NOT that intelligent, but he has the same pathological capability to say whatever he wants whether it is true or not as many of the Republicans.
I'm gonna go back to finish listening Brad, but I urge you to check with the blogosphere and KNOW YOUR ENEMY before going on air. NOT ALL PUBLICITY IS GOOD PUBLICITY and some of these people are excellent at all the machinations of propaganda and character assassination. Their goal is to further their agenda, and LARS' false politeness to you was just that --- FALSE! He is an evil son-of-a- and anybody who talks to him should be VERY, VERY careful.

Medium Right and his Fuckup friend Ken Mehlman didn't read the FINE PRINT:
They didn't have any funding: The ROVE SPIN WAS BULLSHIT! No funding, no evacuation.
They ASKED FOR IT REPEATEDLY, AND RECEIVED NOTHING! NOTHING FROM FEMA, OR THE REST! It is almost ENTIRELY their fault for not acting, the bush's fault for NOT acting! North Command had the orders, Bush and no one else asked them to act!
Blame the victims is the only defense of the poorly, stupid downtrodden right-wing hacks and its more pathetic than any of their other defenseses.
It was PURELY their responsibility to work with the state, they didn't do it. At all.
Throw all the stupid idiots out and hang the War Criminals. No more VOTING MACHINES either, get every one of them out of here.

Lets get accountability back and quickly, FIRE every single so called "leader" who isn't demanding their resignation and discussing impeachment. ITS TIME FOR THE END OF BIG OIL, AND THE BEGINNING OF A NEW WORLD AND ENERGY POLICY!!!!!
Which includes a clean-out of all the big-oil corporate corrupt politicians.

According to Sidney Bluementhal's Article "What didn't go right?" on Salon.com dated September 8, 2005, the fact of the matter is that Louisana Gov. Kathleen Blanco had declared an emergency on August 26 and sent President Bush a letter on August 27 requesting that federal government declare an emergency and provide aid. Bush did make such a declaration and thereby accepted responsibility. But the White House aides are still blaming Louisiana Democrats and local officials but not the Republican governors of Mississippi and Alabama. Go to Salon.com and read this very intersting article by Sidney Bluementhal. It really says it all! And to Mr. Medium Right - this administration was "selected" by the Diebold machines not elected as you pointed out.

And if this country had anything close to real elections there would be no artificial "Electoral College" to contradict and even though artificial somehow "overrule" the popular vote like in 2000 when Gore got over half a million more REAL votes than Lush, everyone knows it, but he didn't "win" the fake "election". What a joke of a system. Truly worthy of a banana republic.

Kraig, let it go man or realize the problem you have lies in the Constitution.
Funny thing about this and many other public opinion areas is that Democrats/Liberals blame the Republicans and Republican/Conservatives blame the Democrats.
It would be nice if we could back up a bit and remember that they are all policticians elected by what essentially comes down to a popularity contest and are often not qualified to be leaders.
We have what we asked for. That isn't a condemnation of Bush alone but of all elected officials. Clinton was no more qualified than Bush.
