It's time to rename Election Day National Tin Foil Hat Day. Everyone wear some tin foil, a hat if you like, on the first Tuesday in November. On the first Tuesday in every month, even. A piece pinned to your lapel, anywhere, until we have real elections in this country again.

The idea here is to see how many folks no longer have faith in the process, to get them to express it publicly, at least once a year, and to remove the stigma of the "tin foil hat" charge. It is not rational to fear a "tin foil hat". It is rational to fear elections that are not legitimate in the world's foremost democracy.

Thanks for keeping on the RATF@@@ERS, Brad. I'm appalled at the number of LIES spewed forth by this neoCON faction of the republican Party. They ARE freaks of nature.
Update on the Voting Rights Act March in Atlanta on Saturday (From BlackAmericaWeb.com) --
Atlanta March Draws Thousands to Celebrate, Underscore Voting Rights
It's an excellent write-up. I guessed the number of people was about 15,000 because the stadium was filled up. If an equal number of white people had attended, this country could begin to heal the wounds made by discrimination.
The Geobbel's method employed by the neoCON faction of the republican Party back in the '80s is working once again to keep American Citizens in the dark.

How can these people live with themselves? To disallow truth and facts from being heard is insanity! The fact that they've got the msm on their side makes it almost impossible for us to reach people on the "other side" who are reasonable, thinking people and would be shocked at what these liars are promoting.
One reason Clark took the commentator job at FOX news was to be able to reach people who are being fed misinformation. He always encourages us to call in to right-wing talk shows and write letters to the editor, etc. but with lying bullies like Steve Bowers not allowing truth to be posted it makes it impossible to reach them...

Brad,
Your post is there along with scores of other peoples post that seem to blast this guys position.
Better check your facts better Brad.
I don't agree completely with either of you to be honest. BOTH sides cheated. The republicans were smarter about it...they controlled the voting machines.
Americans are fat, lazy and as long as their little lives are not affected (they get paid, have a home, can drive their big SUV's, etc.) then they don't care about anybody else's plight, the effect of our foriegn policies or the possiblity of any voter fraud.
I talk to people everyday who will argue that Bush is right, America is doing the right thing, we are a just and fair country, blah blah blah... But when you point out the realities and truths they at first won't believe them and then when they no longer can deny it....they simply say "Well it doesn't affect me". I hear it every damn day.
As for Dems? Most of them understand the issues but again they too don't want to rock the boat because things are "OK" here for now and they "hope" things will get better. Same pathetic attitude with a liberal slant.
What is going to take for people to get angry and rise up. 59,028,109 voted for Kerry. Yet I have rarely heard of much more than 100,000 showing up for a protest at any one time. Only 500,000 signed a petition to demand answers about a document that might prove bush lied.
That is less than half a percent of the poplulation of the US and only .008% of those that voted for Kerry and supposedly want change.
With #'s like that nothing will change.

Sent to the ACVR website. I had alot of fun writing this letter. Taking bets: odds are 5 to 1 they do not repond.
To: Bush/Cheney '04 National General Counsel
Mark F. "Thor" Hearne
RNC Communications Director
Jim Dyke
Nice front. How about some stars and stripes graphics on your website to really look legitimate? I can see by your bio that you have been a credible advocate of voter rights since....2005!? Well, I'm sure you have a great history and track record.
Speaking of track records, where were you in the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections? If you were truly a legitimate "non-partison" group, why have you not mentioned Congressman John Conyers Jr.'s presidential 2004 elections hearing on irregularities in OH? An average reasonable person would think that these hearings and the US House of Represenatives Official Report , would be a good starting point for an organization with your rich history of supporting voting rights and eliminating fraud.
Oh, that's right. I forgot. You really aren't a legitimate, "non-partisan", "non-profit" organization. You only want to look like a legitimate, "non-partisan", "non-profit" organization, a true advocate of voter rights, on the surface. Then pay kickbacks to have your "in-depth" reports of "voter fraud" published in cities around the country. They are so well researched that six out of six cities fall into the #3 spot of worst voter fraud. Are all six tied for 3rd? If so, who are #2 and #1?
If you are going to be a front organization, don't you owe it to the news organizations that buy your crap a little better cover and research? You couldn't write six separate articles. No, you got lazy and wrote one, and then cut and pasted six different cities into the one article.
Come on, sixth graders can pull better practical jokes.
A word of advice. Robert Novek, Peter Baker, Dan Balz, and Matt Cooper, et. al. are not going to be able to save this white elephant of an organization. Save yourself some money, fold the ACVR, do your homework, then start your BS front org. In the meantime, America is now wise to your neocon party tricks, so hope and pray that your names do not come up in the indictments from the Chicago Grand Jury.

Best Wishes!

Will we ever be able to break the hold on power the thugs have? They have virtually blocked out any dissent except for the internet and I know there are plans in the works to crack down on that as well. It's so scary - the 2000 sElelction, 9/11, 2002 to firm up their control of the legislature, and then the coup of 2004... the courts are stacked, dissenters and truth tellers are routinely ignored, smeared or "suicided", MSM is their tool... I know I'm preaching to the choir, you all know everything they've done.
If we hit the streets they will have no problem, assisted I'm sure by their braindead/brainwashed supporters to be rid of us all. Feeling a bit hopeless today... I'm an avid Clark supporter but I'm to the point of not even wanting someone good and true to go up against these thugs. If he were to gain any traction despite media blackout and constant smears, they'd be sure he was in a small plane crash or some such tragedy...
I'm thankful for this place and CCN but I fear for us all.

Fed Up - we are aware of cheating by both sides. The NeoCON faction is cheating in a way that has never before been possible. They now have the ability to commit huge fraud by changing hundreds of thousands of votes without any lingering evidence == by using unauditable so-called Black Box Voting Machines. We aren't here to support the NeoCONs which are on both sides of the aisle --- we're here to expose the lies and hold them accountable.
The media is nothing more than a mouthpiece for White House Propaganda.
Newt Gingrich employed the very powerful psychological tool of hypnosis, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) back in the '80s as a brainwashing and NeoCON propaganda tool. It has worked and a huge part of our population is suffering from lock-step thinking. De-programming is necessary, but study up on how difficult that is.
We must fight for a free press and support real investigative journalists who will report the facts, not spin.
It seems to me that Brad has always been willing to call out whoever has drifted into the NeoCON party and even in this article that you say you don't agree with because you think cheating is on both sides --- here's a quote from Brad's article above:
"After finally finding a "Democrat" that the ACVR could quote from in hopes of misleading and distracting from the fact that the self-proclaimed "non-partisan" group of high-level GOP operatives is actually anything but, it turns out that the use of this "Democrat" is simply more disinformation from these disdainful anti-American, democracy-hating ratfuckers. They're still hoping to spoof the country into believing they are "Voting Rights" advocats rather than pure, unabashed Republican operatives (in the worst sense of the word) hoping to distract from the mountain of GOP "Election Irregularties" last November and further disenfranchise millions of more American voters through their insidious schemes to keep potential Democratic voters from being able to actually cast a vote on Election Day.
Ailes finds, amongst other things, that Brian Lunde, the "Democrat" in question, whose phony quotes were used in all six press releases (same quote each time with just one or two words changed, Pentagon-style) is actually a Bush 2004 supporter, and so is his wife."
So, if I misunderstood you, FedUp, please clarify!

Another propaganda arm exposed. I hope they know they are making it easy for us, because when all Bush's lies come out and they lead right up to stolen elections, we will have the ACVR to point the finger right at the WH and the republicans. They just made themselves a walking bullseye.
Now, about the Plame case, really important info:
http://citizenspook.blog...trolling-law-part-2.html
Details actual law and how it will be applied in this case, leading to possible DEATH PENALTIES for those involved, and that Bush&Co KNEW they would possibly be held liable for this BUT HAD TO anyway, as Plame's CIA unit was ready to uncover evidence of Bush's involvement setting up terror cells related to 9/11 and possible future attacks - not to mention deliberately staging intelligence on Iraq.

The whole Ratfuckingly ugly Karl Rove / Brian Lunde connection!
"For many on the list, the Rove connection is a mutually beneficial two-way street. Brian Lunde, former executive director of the Democratic National Committee and one of the few Democrats on the list, helped the Bush 2000 campaign round up Democratic supporters.
After Bush took office, Lunde has recommended Democrats for White House appointments, especially in cases requiring selections from both parties. During consideration of trade proposals and protective measures for the steel industry, Lunde could suggest to Rove potential Democratic supporters, which, in turn, advanced the interests of such Lunde clients as the Business Roundtable and Nucor Steel, which backed the administration initiatives."

VERBATIM QUOTES FROM WHEN CLINTON WAS COMMITTING TROOPS TO BOSNIA:
"You can support the troops but not the president."
---Rep Tom Delay (R-TX)
"Well, I just think it's a bad idea. What's going to happen is they're going to be over there for 10, 15, maybe 20 years."
---Joe Scarborough (R-FL)
"Explain to the mothers and fathers of American servicemen that may come home in body bags why their son or daughter have to give up their life?"
---Sean Hannity, Fox News, 4/6/99
"[The] President . . . is once again releasing American military might on a foreign country with an ill-defined objective and no exit strategy. He has yet to tell the Congress how much this operation will cost. And he has not informed our nation's armed forces about how long they will be away from home. These strikes do not make for a sound foreign policy."
---Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA)
"American foreign policy is now one huge big mystery. Simply put, the administration is trying to lead the world with a feel-good foreign policy."
---Rep Tom Delay (R-TX)
"If we are going to commit American troops, we must be certain they have a clear mission, an achievable goal and an exit strategy."
---Karen Hughes, speaking on behalf of George W Bush
"I had doubts about the bombing campaign from the beginning . . I didn't think we had done enough in the diplomatic area."
---Senator Trent Lott (R-MS)
"I cannot support a failed foreign policy. History teaches us that it is often easier to make war than peace. This administration is just learning that lesson right now. The President began this mission with very vague objectives and lots of unanswered questions. A month later, these
questions are still unanswered. There are no clarified rules of engagement. There is no timetable. There is no legitimate definition of victory. There is no contingency plan for mission creep. There is no clear funding program. There is no agenda to bolster our over-extended
military. There is no explanation defining what vital national interests are at stake. There was no strategic plan for war when the President started this thing, and there still is no plan today"
---Rep Tom Delay (R-TX)
"Victory means exit strategy, and it's important for the President to explain to us what the exit strategy is."
---Governor George W. Bush (R-TX)

From: "Ellen Theisen at VotersUnite.Org"
Subject: Help keep hand-counted paper ballots where they are
We are snail mailing a letter to each of the 2000 jurisdictions that still use hand-counted paper ballots, encouraging them to keep their system and informing them that they don't have to change to electronic vote recording and counting methods. The project is estimated to cost about $1300.00.
A generous donor has contributed $1000 toward this project, but we still need an additional $300.
Please read the letter HERE.
Then, if you want to participate in distributing this letter, please go to VotersUnite.Org.

Sugarpie: No wonder you can't tell whether anyone has read the report. No one says one word about it. They only attack the reporter. The report makes no conclusions about the facts. It just reports the stories with footnotes and exhibits. If a police report records an incident of intimidation and if a democrat official admits that people working for the democrats slashed tires to keep republicans from voting, that is news --- no matter who reports it. Let's talk about solutions.

Gee James, I was blacklisted on 2 liberal blogs yesterday, not for trolling, posting malicious comments, or spam, but for asking questions like is it really fair or just to hold all men responsible for rape, even the vast majority who have never raped?
If you think liberal blogs are open to questioning any of their sacred cows (like abortion, which I don't argue as such, I do argue that the Constitution does not grant the federal govt authority in this area and that as a result, if anything, it's a state matter), think again. You'll get blacklisted to fast your head will spin, and your comments will be deleted.
Every conservative blog I post to has several liberal posters, usually supporting discrimination or blaming whites or men, but that's pretty much what they do.
I found your comment interesting, but your own house needs lots and lots of cleaning in that regard.
