Every senator who voted to authorize this war, one so obviously based on lies, including the unrepentent Hillary Clinton (who should go to jail for it, not become president), are drenched in the blood of Iraqi civilians and American soldiers.

Feingold is only a voice in the wilderness, but a very good one.
This piece Should be posted far and wide to expose the Republican 'Fake outrage', it explains it perfectly;
Ritual defamation and humiliation are designed to make the group feel contempt for the victim and over time it's extremely hard to resist feeling it when the victims fail to stand up for themselves.
and
It's an excellent technique and one they continue to employ with great success, most recently with the entirely fake Move-On and Pete Stark "controversies." (The Democrats try their own versions but rarely achieve the kind of full blown hissy fit the Republicans can conjure with a mere blast fax to Drudge and their talk radio minions.)
Expose the beast to kill it.

One of those rare articles that doesn't get the proper attention it deserves.

The US Congress, like the one in place in Germany which enabled and led to preznit Hitler, is too nice to stop the downfall of the nation.
And like that nice government in Germany, the nice US government will not be able to remember how it happened.
They will say things like "if I knew then what I know now" ... showing they still don't know.

Thanks, Senator Feingold. Thanks for being the pest in Washington that you are. Thanks for standing up and doing the right thing for all citizens of the United States. You will never know how much I appreciate the work you do.

I challenge Russ to followup his thoughts by actions.
Now what might they be . Besides trying to convince other Senators of stopping the funding, he might try
to make direct appeals to the American people.
Suppose he invited all of them to call Bush at the
same time. Or do something bold. For those of you who love Science fiction, I call your
attention to the day earth stood still. When the
alien, stopped all electric impulses except
hospitals , planes etc at one time. Now that was
an attention getter.
I don't know whether Bush could be moved by anything --
but those cowardly straw men and women in the house
and senate would sure quake in their shoes.
Folks, it's not enough to keep talking to each other. Even when the talk it eloquent

I'll believe it when I see it. I have yet to see Feingold (or anyone else for that matter) filibuster any money bills for this ill-begotten war.

Yeah Dredd, it reminds me when we did a job inside of a prison one time.
Every morning, this biker dude co-worker would go to the window, take a deep breath and say "Ahh, nothing like the smell of fresh razor wire early in the morning".
Might have to get used to that.

Somewhere between Kyl/Lieberman and an up-or-down for Southwick even a giant sequoia would fall.

Dems sold us a bill of goods in '06. What difference if Senate and Congress had repub majorities? Answer: zero.
Hoyer and Pelosi and Reid and their ilk--I despise them more than many Republicans, because with the republicans we never had any expectation they'd do the right thing. The Dems have consistently allowed Bush to proceed with the destruction of this nation. The blood is on THEIR hands now.
Feingold is one of a small minority of Dems who do the right thing consistently. Unfortunately for every Dem like him there are three Feinsteins who approve every Bush nominee and funding request without batting an eye.

Just stop voting on supplementals. You don't have to write a bill formally cutting off funding and you don't have to write a bill that says "the war ends today". All the Dems have to do is to NOT VOTE ON SUPPLEMENTALS. If the funding bill doesn't reach Bush's desk, he can't sign it. Pretty friggin' simple. If the Dems are a real opposition party, this is what they will do. If they are a fake opposition party as appears most likely, they will continue giving lip service to being against the war but continue to fund it. Time to show us your true colors Democrats. The people are waiting.

And calling it "misguided" has to be the understatement of the decade. The Geneva Conventions state that launching a war of aggression is considered the supreme international crime. When Country A isn't being provoked by Country B but invades it anyway, that's nothing other than a war of aggression, plain and simple, not a "war of choice" as many try to explain it away as, and certainly not simply "misguided". Accidentally going into the women's restroom when you're supposed to go into the men's is misguided. The Iraq War is naked aggression, fundamentally no different than the German invasion of Poland on 1 September 1939. So this is a CRIMINAL war, an ILLEGAL war, not a "misguided" one.
