Another thing.
I would like all Govenors, National Gaurdsmen, Police, and Military Officers to start thinking about NOW, is how to handle American Citizens exercising their right to PEACEFULLY DEMONSTRATE in the streets after this election. I have a bad feeling these criminals are going to try to declare martial law when they try to steal this election and we come out en masse.
Maybe I'm psychic or something. Ha Ha Ha!

Elections are being stolen, blatantly, in front of our faces!!! Where are all the good people in high places, protecting us from a stolen democracy? We'll have to do it ourselves, because no one's helping us.

The machine default setting is to place the vote for the Republican candidate,.. should the voter become "confused".
If the voter places a vote for a Democratic candidate the voter must be confused. If the voter votes a straight Democratic Party ticket,.. the voter must be very - very confused. In the event of either above scenarios the vote of the confused voter is rejected,.. the electronic voting machine takes over,.. the default setting kicks in and switches the vote to the Republican Party candidate.
The confusion of the voter is eliminated and the integrity of the electoral process is maintained. The Fascist Republican Party remains is power with a firm grip on all three branches of government. Bu$$hco continues to enhance the powers of the unitary executive,.. monkey Nazi chimp boy proceeds to shred the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights,.. robbing the US Treasury to enrich his family,.. cronies,.. and criminal friends.

It's hard to believe that no one is doing anything to stop this.
It is time to impound these machines, open them up, and send the source code to several universities to be de-assembled and studied to determine if this is truely a 'bug' or an act of intentional subversion of the voting process. Then we will know, once and for all, what is going on inside these machines. But we better hurry before the mother boards are mysteriously replaced again.
It should not be hrd for these people to get a court order to impound these machines and examine the evidence.

One way get a touch machine to "flip votes" from one candidate to another, is to use the Microtouch cursor off-set or purposefully calibrate incorrectly (say one inch to the upper right). This has nothing to do with Diebold code.
Calibration takes one minute and can be done by the person who appears to be calibrating correctly. I have used this on our Museum's touch-screen computer interactives.
An audit of Diebold code would show nothing. What helps is to "show cursor" and then press a "blank area" on screen. See if the cursor is under finger tip. Drag finger around.
Offsetting purposefully could easily explain how pressing one button activates another yet does not show up in Diebold code.
Once a machine is exhibiting vote flipping, just lock it down, launch Microtouch diagnostics screenor a screen with no buttons and drag finger on screen. I have never seen a screen "fall out of calibration." That is, once it is set up once that is it. The issues come into getting it to work the first time. I have calibrated over 50 different monitors so there you go.

OldTurk: I've posted before about "defaults"...probably the biggest thing never talked about. The machines are probably set to default to Republicans...there shoud be NO DEFAULTS! And no electronic vote machines! Republican defaults would explain ALL ANOMOLIES FAVORING REPUBLICANS.

In Montgomery County, Texas I had to make several phone calls, including one to the Capitol to even get an absentee ballot. I had to have a "good" excuse to get a paper ballot. (guess it is like having a hall excuse in kindergarten?) We are using Hart Civic and/or optic screen. When I expressed my concern I was indignently told, "WE HAD NO PROBLEMS IN THIS COUNTY."
Sure none that came out publicly at least.
I was informed that an absentee ballot could only be sent out of the county, if I wasn't disabled,. So the ballot was sent to my son in the next county. Instead of to my home.
Now if that isn't a receipe for fraud what is?
When I spoke with the State Election office I was informed that many people were concerned with Texa's voting machines, but nothing was changing.
So much for the people's will.
Hope any of you in a 'free state' have better luck than us living in Texas.

What is wrong with requiring some form of ID ? Where can you cash a check, write a check or even use a credit card without a pin or signature?
The poor will have an ID if they have ever received government aid, the elderly will have an ID if they have social security income. When someone is concerned about where to sleep tonight, voting is not the biggest issue in your life.
I am concerned about the illegals who are allowed to come and vote (the way they are paid to vote) without any ID.
A picture ID is $5 - $10 or why not free ? States waste a whole lot more every day than the cost of free ID's.

What if you take an extra few hours off from work, wait in line for a few hours, get to the booth, and you forgot your photo id? Requiring photo id is just another ROADBLOCK to limit voters. No one deserves their right to vote, to be stripped from them, for any arbitrary rule whatsoever. And requiring photo id is just ONE BIG totally arbitrary rule, designed to disenfranchize voters.
Presently, how can people illegally vote anyway??? I don't get it!!! Can anyone walk in off the street and vote, who isn't registered? Is this a problem in the first place? Where are statistics saying that this is a problem in the first place? I have never seen any!!!

***********
More on Red State Heathens,.. who claim to be the chosen ones and devout followers of God,.. the hypocrisy is incomprehensible,..
It's never fun having your ass shot off, but the odds of that occurring seem higher in the red states, which account for all of the top 15 states in rates of death by firearms (2003). Methamphetamine addiction is a national scourge, but it's been chewing the heart out of the red Middle West, where Missouri has the tragic distinction of hosting the highest number of lab incidents (meth labs or production facilities raided by authorities), with Indiana, Tennessee, Iowa, and Kentucky also among the top six states afflicted with an outbreak of bootleg chemistry. The 10 states with the lowest meth-lab incidents? Eight of them are blue. Then there's the violence or despair directed self-ward. Of the 15 states with the highest adjusted rates of suicide (2003), 14 are red.

Photo ID is no more "secure" than any other "form of ID".. It's a way to put up another roadblock that doesn't need to be there.
The assertion that you "have id" if you ever received aid is FALSE across most of the country (I don't know about TX) as you do NOT get issued a "government photo id" when you "get aid".
No one is saying "no proof of who you are at all". We're saying "limiting ID to ONE form, that being a PHOTO ID that is NOT FREE TO EVERYONE is a roadblock intentionally set up to disenfranchise a specific demographic". Under our current system (that being that not everyone gets a free photo id), -requiring- a "paid for ID" goes against the poll tax laws and Constitution.
Most places have SEVERAL forms of ID that are "acceptable", but the new laws, as I understand it, REMOVE those forms and replace it with a PAID TO HAVE photo ID.
Sure, all drivers have a DL (if they are driving legally), and those are photo. But if you CHOSE not to drive, and therefore do not need a DL, why would you have PHOTO ID? You wouldn't, in a lot of cases. Chose not to drive, too poor to own a car.. not much difference in the end result of NO PHOTO ID.
It's the same crap with "paper trails" that are NOT allowed to be "counted toward the election" by LAW in a lot of places. What's the point? Paper Ballots is what's required, not some "paper that may or may not show the 'real vote' cast".
People not taking the time to fully understand and appriciate what's going in is exactly the problem with this country. The masses just sit back and watch the news on TV and presume that the coporations are making sure they are adequately informed. IDIOTS.. that's what the masses are. And most of them don't give 2 shits about Democracy, or care to try and understand about electronic voting and the problems associated with it. Tons of people haven't the foggiest about computers, and just blindly believe 'those machines work on magic'.
And, we've lost our "right" to peacefully demonstrate a LONG time ago. I watched a vid (not sure of the link) that showed how the police are TAPING people at rallies, and singling out and DETAINING (wihthout charge, in a lot of cases) people that "frequent rallies". They gas crowds for NO reason (caught on tape at that link I can't think of.. sorry ). These are dangerous times we're in. The Facists are here, and they are about to lock us down (and up). Watch..

Requiring ID to vote is a deliberate attempt at voter disenfranchisement similar to the poll tax and literacy tests of the Jim Crow era. The only requirement for voting is to be a US citizen 18 years or older. Both of those can be documented at the time of voter registration, and verified at the polls with a signature.
I am concerned about the illegals who are allowed to come and vote (the way they are paid to vote) without any ID.
I'm going to guess that you can't provide citation or documentation of a single instance of "illegals" who are paid to vote. In any case, to equate this kind of wrong-doing with systematic election fraud is.. silly.

I don't think the votes are 'flipping.' Here's what I think is going on:
First, they miscalibrate a portion of the machines, and probably see to it that those machines go to specified precincts, and probably only one in each location. The miscalibration is a shift between the pressure-sensitive thing that records your selection, and the 'button' image on the screen that always makes it more likely that the (R) next to the (D) gets selected by accident based on how most people press their finger to the screen. The misalignment only has to be slight in order for a few percent of votes to be miscast. That's why not every democratic voter who uses the suspect machines is running out complaining that their vote(s) 'flipped.' In addition, one has to notice that the wrong choice registers on the review screen, before casting one's vote. What this does is shave D votes, and increase R votes in a random manner, and not too many in any one precinct, and leaves the problem open to being ignored. If it is decided to stop using that machine then the lines are longer, which also serves to shave off D votes.
The Republicans are extremely clever about this. If you read this 18-page pdf, Declaration of Richard Hayes Phillips on Ohio '04 ballots, filed 9/1/06 you will understand how they can use the DREs to shave D votes without having to use the software to do it, although software glitches would help. Reading that pdf makes it clear how complicated their scheme of vote-shaving was in Ohio in 2004, in order to be random, undetectable, and attributed to voter error. That was with paper ballots. It's much easier with DREs.
The fact that we never hear of the R votes being incorrectly registered as D votes fits in with this intentional slight miscalibration on purpose to appear to be a matter of chance voter error.

I can feign shock..."Inf'ingcredible".
But, we knew this kind of voting machines 'attack' would happen. The only question is whether we can overcome it or win despite 'losing' the races in those areas. Isn't it curious they're all 'defensive' areas for the Republicans? Why are they so desperate about Texas (of all places)?
I'd expect it in the battle-ground states of Virginia, Tennessee, Missouri and "ground zero" Ohio. But, to see it in Arkansas, Texas, San Diego CA, Florida and maybe Maryland is a sign of the total desperation of the Republican party.
We need to document it and it's one-sided nature and then publicize it and take the results there to court. This can't be left to the executive branches of state or federal government or to the secretary's of state or the neglectful press. It has to be pushed out to the courts and the public for their oversight. That's one thing the Bush people detest --- oversight.

Guys, let's be CLEAR.. Providing "ID" is NOT the same as providing PHOTO ID.. If you have a residence, you have some form of "id" in your bills, etc. Aid check stubs and or id (as Texaslady pointed out), etc etc. Requiring "id" isn't a problem, it's requiring PHOTO id that IS the problem.
Until such time as the government provides FREE photo IDs to -every- citizen (you tell me how wer're going to make sure everyone is who they say they are and still respect privacy) ON DEMAND and in readily avialable locations, you can NOT 'force' someone to use an id they have to PAY for. The logical path is that you are REQUIRING SOMEONE TO PAY A FEE TO VOTE, and that is ILLEGAL..
And, to address the "it might be a miscalibration" idea, if someone INTENTIONALLY adjusts the screens/sensors, that is HACKING THE VOTE. With a big paper ballot and a HUGE X marking your choice, it's kind of hard for a second party to "change a large number of votes".. right? Yet, one person can tweak a machine in a precienct to cause a Dem area to look overly Repug for that election. Hacking the vote isn't just about tweaking the Diebold "source code", it's about "mucking with the process in such a way to cause the machines to report a desired winner, regardless of who voted how"..

Are homeless people not citizens?
Plus, let's be honest here, people are told they cannot vote because their registration says "John Doe" and their ID says "John H Doe", or they don't have the right apartment number on their bill.

I haven't been able to find any specs, but I'm pretty sure the iVotronic (lamest name ever) touch screens are capacitive, which means that after the initial calibration (done either at the factory or by election officials) there should be no problems. If there is ever a problem with 'drift' I'd love to see it on video, because I just don't believe it.

And sorry Big Dan but if you are purposely going to vote people generally check to make sure they have what they need. Same as taking a test, generally one prepares.

But we are arguing a moot point, it is not the voters that are doing the fraud it is the people who count the vote. And with these hopping e-votes it even Bev Harris on Lou Dobbs said these election is fraught with danger.

Texaslady: Originally, Bush's first proposal was to give amnesty. Remember? Does everyone forget that??? I still don't understand how illegal immigrants could vote. Also, like my point above, if I were an illegal immigrant, I would stay as far away from any entity that wanted to identify me.
THERE IS NO WAY, ILLEGAL ALIEN VOTING IS A PROBLEM!
Wouldn't you think illegal aliens would STAY AWAY from places that would force identification? No matter how fabricated their ID was? It would seem to me, that if I were an illegal alien, I wouldn't walk into a vote precinct no matter what they paid me and no matter what ID they gave me. I would "stay clear"...they are not STUPID if they are here working, avoiding authorities.
I understand where you live, you have huge illegal immigrant problems (Texas). I read plenty about it. But, voting is not one of them. I understand how you are worried about illegal immigrants down there.
As far as photo ID, why is that any better than other forms of ID? Do you think they can't make up fake photo ID's? Kids for ages have gotten fake photo ID for underage drinking, I think everyone knows that.
Where are there statistics that illegal alien voting is a problem? Please provide some.
As far as illegal immigration, hasn't Bush (from Texas) been president the last 6 years? Haven't the Republicans controlled congress for years? Wasn't Bush the governor of Texas for years before he was president??? Then why are there border problems in Texas???

Obviously, the Republicans REALLY DON'T CARE ABOUT ILLEGAL ALIENS! They are using that as an excuse to disenfranchize the poor/elderly LEGAL citizens.
Otherwise, illegal immigration wouldn't be an issue for only the past year, because Republicans have controlled congress since 1994 and the presidency since 2000 (stolen). So, they've had 12 years control of congress when millions of illegal aliens crossed the border...BUT NOW IT'S AN ISSUE!!!!!!!!

There was a letter in my local newspaper, saying we in Pa. need to vote Santorum in, for medical malpractice suit caps and to control our borders.
I blasted the guy's letter with my own letter, asking, "Wasn't Rick Santorum a senator for the last 12 years? Didn't he sue a chiropractor successfully for MORE than the cap he's proposing?" These guys are "used car salesmen" and they're good at it. I guess "someone else" was senator in Pa. the last 12 years for spiralling medical insurance and border problems. We need to vote in Santorum because we need a new guy in there...HUH??? Wasn't HE they guy in there the last 12 years?????? wtf????

Big Dan we, the United States, have a major problem of illegal immigration BECAUSE Bush became president. He was a terrible businessman, a lousy governor and well, you and I agree on his presidential abilities. Along with the Dixie Chicks.
Bev Harrison said tonight, that this election is so fraught with malfeasances it will take 10 days after to sort out the numbers.
At least Missouri is allowing a choice to their people. Such a rural area and yet, their people are having more choice than all of us.

Big Dan:
I think there is a partial explanation for the big scare over illegal aliens voting. If you read some of the opinion pieces by the most vocal closed-borders advocates, you will get the sense that they are not only anti-illegal immigrant, they are virulently anti-immigrant period. Then what happens is they end up lumping together all immigrants, legal and illegal, to boost their arguments. I'm not implying that texaslady is doing this, but its easy to see how some right wing folks would see a bunch of non-whites, perhaps poor, perhaps non-english speaking showing up to the polls en masse to support a candidate that would represent them and their family's interests, and automatically think that they must be illegal.
I'm with you, I just don't see it happening. I don't know how things are done in the south, but here I would send in my voter registration with name, address, and drivers license or SS#. If I'm an illegal alien, thats probably not information I would want to give away to be put into a government database. If that info checks out, my name will appear on the voter rolls, and when I go to vote I sign my name next to the signature on record. I've never been asked to show any ID, but if my signature didn't look authentic or if I were a minority or something, I'd have to produce any number of documents to prove that I am who I say I am. NOT to prove my citizenship.
Anyone using the illegal alien scare tactic to force a higher burden on voters at the polls, is clearly looking to disenfranchise citizens in the process.

Your democracy is GONE. I repeat this for it has not gone up for many. Your democracy is GONE. It isn't as if the writing was not on the wall long since. Your democracy is GONE. It has been blatantly clear since 2004 if not 2000 that: Your democracy is GONE.
Stop worrying about watching the machines, they have always lied they always will, that's why you have them. The machines have eaten your democracy.
Your democracy is GONE!
Stop getting used to it, and do something.

Here comes the Diebold fraud. They already stole 2 presidential elections (wide scale fraud). You really think they cannot steal House elections (small scale fraud)? This is the same group that managed to legalize warrantless wiretaps, suspend habeas corpus, ban books like "America Deceived" from Amazon, detain demonstrators and start 2 illegal wars based on lies. The Republicans will probably lose a few seats to make it look good but maintain a majority. Then they'll invade Iran on behalf of Israel.
Support indy media.

BVAC - As a first generation of a LEGAL immigrant from Germany, 1922, my dad came over with a sponsor and $20.00 in his pocket. Dad came by way of Ellis Island which checked the immigrants for diseases and for legal paperwork.
I have nothing against immigrants who come through legallly. By the way, my dad spoke English within two years and paid for a farm in Iowa during the depression. In other words he was proud to assimulate not expect America to adapt to him.
Illegals here in Texas, trade identities as easily as clothing. Everything is in cash nothing is done with a paper trail. And they are blatant about NOT assimulating because they are here to earn money and leave. LULAC has a website with directions on how to avoid detection and where to go for help.
Anyone giving you free advice on how to avoid the law?
If you read you will see where over 2,000 data banks on computers have been hacked or stolen. Data banks from a credit bureau, medical center, VA. Now what do you think Karl Rove could do with that information?
We don't have a good system for voting it is totally open for fraud.
We need consistent regulations statewide, trained volunteers, and watchdogs from all parties in the poll places during voting.
We need more early voting in states. In 2004 Omaha people were trying 2-3 times to vote and the lines were so long they gave up. Same in Davenport, Iowa. Whats wrong with having early voting in all States ?
And we need One person, One vote. Comments I hear from professionals is "it doesn't matter how I vote the Electoral process does what it wants." Sure the EP is suppose to go with the majority but does it all the time?
I don't have the answer to fail safe voting but I sure have alot of questions of why the above ideas won't work and be interested in your ideas.

I live in San Antonio, and phoned the Election Commission to inquire about this. The guy I talked to, Louis, said there was no problem and that although they were reviwing things on a case-by-case basis, essentially the machines are fine and there is no problem. I recorded the conversation and it is available to this site is I can figure out where to send the mp3.

With all you asking what to do? Just as our fore Fathers did to the British, we must have courage, and understand this is another time in our Country's History whereas the American people must stop everything and understand our Liberty, our Freedom is being taken over by those that have been against us for quite some time. We must sacrifice our lives to physically removed those that are against the Constitution and I mean Violence. They've been violent with us so its time to turn the tables. Its the only thing they will understand, nothing else works. Nothing!!
"Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice and moderation in the pursuit of justice is no Virtue!"
Time to Abolish and take back our government. And....believe it or not, They DARE US!!!

Big Dan: I explicitly stated that I don't think Texaslady believes those things, but that the idea of photo ID and the hype about illegal aliens voting is supported by those types of people. It has a populist sound to it and seems like common sense, which is why good people can be found repeating their arguments for them, but look closely at the source and their intentions become clear.
Texaslady: a safe voting system would start with a secure registration process. I've seen some discussion about having the voters picture appear next to their signature in the poll books so the election worker can double check if they are the correct person. I like that idea better than requiring a photo ID, but it also presents problems - particularly in rural areas.

Think of the positive forces that be. Know they are aware of this treasonous activity. This election is a wake up call for the multitudes. This election is for that and you must think of this aspect. How will we catch them in the act if we don't go forward with this corporate controlled electronic selection?
If you believe there is no hope for us, that we must succumb to their world control, that you can't take it anymore, know this! God is alive and well and watching every move the dark makes. Watching and recording these events for the posterity of all souls living in the universes, to use as educational examples of spiritual awakening among humankind as they ascended into higher dimensions of existence. God has many mansions and I hear that many, still in the dark, will remain in a 3D type of vibratory mansion until we joyously, eventually, invite them into the light.
Love is the answer! Spread it, share it, be it! Judge not as we all have a part to play on this great stage of life. Those in the dark are part of the oneness of all things and need to be helped up to a higher level of knowledge and understanding of truth. They need your love also, as many have not had enough love this life period, or even other lives, in this experiment of duality and free will. Give them the light of truth, then watch them awaken and shine forth their light. The domino effect will continue no matter what moves the dark side make, because of one simple ingredient. GOD ALWAYS WINS!!!
Do your best to have your vote counted. Cry foul and be heard. Stand up for your unalienable rights. Know that you are all sovereign beings and each contain the spark of God. Go within and listen to your God mind spirit and ask for the guidance and protection of heaven as you strive ever forward toward the future, you prefer. One world with PEACE FOREVER! That should be your only choice. Know that the lightworkers are you and you are the ones you have been waiting for. You are very powerfull angels and your thoughts are creating the heaven on earth, we have been promised by God.
Have no fear for God is here. You are God! That is the secret the dark intend to keep from you. The secret is out. And so it is.

If voting could really change the direction the USA is headed in, it would be rendered illegal.
Voting nowadays is just another smoke and mirrors scheme designed to dupe the citizens into thinking that they have an actual voice in government policies and decisions.
Isn't it rather apparent yet that the people in America have been set up and made into silly/dumb sheep and cows headed for the slaughter house?
Anyone unable to see the handwriting on the wall is being deliberately blind to the truth.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it common practice that if one chooses a straight Democratic ticket and if there are no Democratic candidates running, the vote will always go to the next person on the ticket, republican or independent? For example, if your choosing a straight Dem ticket, and there is no one running for treasurer as a Dem, the vote machine, what ever kind it is, will default to a republican?

Does San Antonio really use a "touch-screen" machine? Does the complaining rep even know what a touch screen machine does? How would he know if the machine automatically defaults to the GOP?
Sounds more like typical liberal whining and complaining.

The Texas Vote Fix Was In!
I knew Texans weren't that stupid to vote all the Cons in. Just talk to anyone here and you'll hear how much they are hated in this state. But, because Bush is here, he had to make certain all his buddies in Texas got reSlected so he can continue screwing us. Hid buddy Perry is Gov asgain and all his buddies in Texas are going back to Wash. The votes had to be flipped...
Even the local news warned about it.

Be sure to click on "Review" after you have checked the boxes on your
ballot. If you have to make a change click on "Review" again to make
sure
the ballot shows your correct choice. If not, ask for the Elections
Judge.
I experienced an irregularity when I voted and have since notified
several
official offices including Rep. Menendez since he has drafted
legislation to
control these reported irregularities. There is an article in today's
E-N
about this legislation. My experience was this. After I very
carefully
checked the candidates of my choice, I clicked on "Review" and to my
amazement one of the candidates I had voted for had been changed to
another
candidate of a different party. I had to correct that error & I tried
"Review" again to make sure the correct box was, in fact, checked. I
didn't
think too much about it at the time but after hearing Diane Rehm's Show
yesterday morning on the subject of the reliability of the voting
machines I
became worried. A listener called in to say that he had just
experienced an
irregularity in the voting booth. After completing the ballot he
punched
"Review" only to discover that three of the Democratic candidates he
had
voted for had been changed to Republican candidates. Realizing this
was my
same experience I began reporting it to elected officials. After
talking
with the various offices I found that other people here in San Antonio
have
had the same experience. Be Aware!

Brad..I was a poll worker in San Antonio on Nov. 7th 2006. I have video footage of the diebold machines. Some things I found odd, but I'm no expert. I worked in 3 precints that day. I also just read a story at OPEd News about hacking found this election cycle. Here's the link:
“We see evidence of pervasive fraud, but apparently calibrated to political conditions existing before recent developments shifted the political landscape,” said attorney Jonathan Simon, co-founder of Election Defense Alliance, “so ‘the fix’ turned out not to be sufficient for the actual circumstances.” Explained Simon, “When you set out to rig an election, you want to do just enough to win. The greater the shift from expectations, (from exit polling, pre-election polling, demographics) the greater the risk of exposure–of provoking investigation. What was plenty to win on October 1 fell short on November 7.” …
