Jack Sheldon singing that one, he's also a great trumpet player. The guy who was on Merv Griffin many years.
They both could teach Bush a lot about everything. So ignorant, yet so powerful.

Aw man that was so cool, brought back nice memories *grinz*
I bought a "Schoolhouse Rock Rocks!" CD for my son when he was little, some of the songs redone by newer bands - Blind Melon, Better than Ezra, Moby..my kid loved it!
One thing I learned about teaching - if you can put it to music, it's easier to learn - unless, apparently, you're George W Bush!
Thanks David.

They forgot something - all the amendments that get added when the President signs it to make it something other than what it originaly was!
Oh I forgot - that's Bush that does that, not the President!

Usually when the president signs a bill into law, he passes out pens to all the smiling legislators lined up behind him, hoping to get their photos in the morning paper.
This time, either he ran out of pens, or with his ratings in the 30s, no legislator wanted to be seen in the same room with him. But little details like whether the bill had actually cleared both houses of Congress, can't stop the great decider from acting as de facto legislator as well. There's no truth to the rumor that Gonzales told him this was all legal, because presidents can do "recess appointments."

Thanks, Michael!
It's really fun and somewhat cathartic seeing Bush getting stuck in positions like this.
TRY IT YOURSELF!

If you already know your Republican-controlled Congress is going to pass the damned bill, why should you have to wait it actually does?
Give him a break. It's hard work Deciding.

This may be the time and place for me to say I was wrong on the Rove indictment scenario.
I had indicated some time back that I did not think he would be indicted because Fitz had been compromised.
There is talk, as I am sure you are all aware, that Rove is in the gunsights of Fitz again (Raw Story Link).
Grand juries have a lot of autonomy and it may be that they want to indict but Fitz doesn't. The grand jury is the boss and if they want Rove indicted Fitz can not stop it.
On the other hand if it is Fitz that wants Rove indicted but the grand jury does not, once again, the grand jury has the say.
I think Fitz was compromised but it would be difficult to compromise all twenty some grand jurors.
Anyway, one should admit mistakes and if Rove is indicted I was incorrect. Thankfully.

Not quite sure which thread to post this on...from Alternet...
'Robert Greenwald, of "Fight Fox" and "whack Wal-Mart" [didn't he also do "Uncovered"?]
fame, is making a new, hard-hitting film. It's a.... devastating investigation...of the war in Iraq: a probe of the obscene amounts of money being made by some...American corporations...[who] are reaping huge windfall profits while American soldiers and Iraqis die by the thousands.
Robert's film "Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers" will have a huge impact when it comes out this fall ... if he can raise $140,000 in the next few days. Already grassroots supporters like you have come up with the first $160,000. Please help now, and your
name will appear in the credits.'
http://iraqforsale.org/
Looks like only about 1500 or so have donated so far.
I don't know about you 6 or 7 other guys, but I would really love to see an expoZAY of the filthy bastards who are making gigantic piles of cash on the bodies of the fallen.

Dredd, I don't know if you were right or wrong about Rove. But I do know some strange stuff is going on here.
Rove has testified five times. His lawyer could have said at any time, "That's enough. You have rights under the Fifth Amendment. No more testimony."
Yet he keeps going back, and we're told he gets closer and closer to an indictment. What's wrong with this picture? He's so Machiavellian that there might be an ulterior motive, but I can't hazard a guess what it might be. Is Cheney the real target here, with Rove trying to force him to resign so that Bush can clean house? If so, I doubt Cheney will ever resign...especially not on account of Rove's testimony.

If I ever see another one of these dog-and-pony show bill signings, I'm going to puke.
Six American flags. Nine Capitol Hill functionaries, dressed in identical dark suits as if they're going to a funeral. And Bushie, who signs bills into law before they're passed by Congress and ignores others passed earlier to protect democracy, signing another one that he'll either obey or disregard depending on his mood.
Vietnam moment: What would happen if they gave a bill signing and nobody came?
