Just an off-topic thought,

As one of 6 or 7 conspiracy theorists in America, I can easily say that the "Ports Deal" is clearly bogus, and was likely never a true issue. Just think about it for a second...Why would Bush sign over the running of major ports to the UAE, without either himself, and the heads of major departments being aware? Why would he give them so willingly to a nation so recently connected to terrorism? Why would he threaten the first veto of his tenure in office? This flies in the face of common sense...but not really!!!

Theory-
1. This was a "purposeful blunder".
2. It creates anti-Arab sentiment.
3. The threat of a veto is simply 'for show' to allow repubs to demonstrate backbone and ultimately "dismantle" the deal in an election year.
4. Anti-Arab sentiment and "desire for increased security" will be necessary when Bush decides to bomb Iran.

And I'm not talking about once in a while, one of these stories being embedded after page-1 of the newspapers. These are front-page stories, so there's a blackout, period! Same thing with TV news.
