For Tom Tomorrow: That's perfect. Thanks.
Anyone ever notice all the similarities between Nixon and Bush # 43? Both married former teachers. Two children each, both girls. Both first ran against an incumbent vice president who was trying to distance himself politically from the sitting president, and both ran for re-election against a liberal U.S. Senator who had been a war hero. Both had brothers with ethical problems. Both bombed a sovereign country that wasn't threatening the United States at the time. Both authorized illegal spying on American citizens.
The big difference, of course, was IQ. Oh, and that Nixon realized he was about to be impeached.

Synthetic terror alert red for NYC, DC subways
Imbedded Links@!!!!
http://www.total411.info...lert-red-for-nyc-dc.html
Total411.info) --- In light of the extension of the USA PATRIOT Act's expiring police-state provisions for only five weeks, this website is issuing a CODE RED SYNTHETIC TERROR ALERT through Feb. 3. Concerned citizens should be on the lookout for suspicious activities by government operatives over the next five weeks. An attack at this time would priovde the necessary impetus to hammer through an expansion of PATRIOT's Orwellian provisions. Bush will likely push for these provisions during his Jan. 31 State of the Union address to Congress.
Of particular concern in the New York subway system. The recent transit workers strike, provoked by unreasonable transigence of management, left the entire system closed to the public for three days. That means black-ops teams had free reign to plant explosives and/or bioweapons to be released at a later time.
Also vulnerable is the Washington DC subway system, called the Metro. Metro recently finished placing hundreds of new "blast-proof" trash cans throughout the systems. These would be the perfect conduit for an inside job --- explosives where the "blast-proof" shielding should be. Additionally, the Metro system shuts down each night, leaving several windows for insiders to plant terror devices. Some, including this editor, have noticed abnormal activity on the system as it closes down at midnight; such as clearing the entire platform at the Metro Center station even though more trains were still scheduled to arrive.
Concerned Americans should look for abnormal activity by "authorities," particularly "drills" over the next few weeks. Subway systems, particularly those in New York and Washington, should be monitored closely. You can call your Congressman and Senators' offices through the Congressional switchboard at 202-225-3121 and tell them not to let a synthetic terror attack again terrorize them into passing PATRIOT. Even better, tell them as they visit their home districts over the holidays. Americans can also call the White House at 202-456-1414 and tell the alleged President you won't be fooled or scared by any upcoming false-flag terror attack
please get this out.. looks google has been hiding it.. don't know how to post on front page... be vigilant and tell your news groups your frinds and family.. scream it..

For Arry: I think the family connection is both a difference and a similarity. Nixon's father didn't provide strong support, wasn't a role model, so Nixon identified with his mother, whom he always called a "saint." He called himself a Quaker because she was one, although bombing Cambodia was hardly in keeping with Quaker pacifism.
Bush, Sr. helped set W. up in business and put up with his wastrel ways, meanwhile building his own resume as a statesman. But W., like Nixon, still identified with Mom...right down to the flinty temperament, the cluelessness, and the capacity for hating. Unlike Nixon, he didn't follow his parents' religion (the Bushes are Episcopalians); he became a born-again Methodist, which isn't quite an oxymoron but isn't common, either. Like Nixon, his behavior in office seemed at odds with the teachings of his faith.

Interesting parallels everyone. I don't think Mr. Bush will leave as willingly as Mr. Nixon did.
Just an FYI- "born again" refers to baptism and the dedication to live a christ-like life. Rebirth. A chance to start fresh and leave your mistakes behind. To make amends for your mistakes and live a life of service. It is not an ideology or dogma or a political party (though in todays world one could easily make the mistake of thinking so). So there are lots of born again Methodists but most of us are practicing the teachings of Christ in the new testament and therefore living lives of compassion and service. So in that respect, yes he does seem kind of different from the mainstream Methodists.

For Jo: Right. One can be a born-again Methodist (that's why I wrote "not quite an oxymoron") but there are a lot more born-again Baptists. I'd say the Methodist church of the Wesleys is about as far afield from the way George W. Bush lives his life on a day-to-day basis than mainstream faith.
Selling out to corporate interests, initiating wars, taking long vacations, bragging about his lack of intellectual curiosity...if Charles Wesley were still alive, he couldn't write a hymn to explain Bush as a Methodist.

I am not a Clinton fan ( I do think he was a more effective leader than Bush). Two wrongs don't make a right. Mr Bush is responsible for his own actions and like Mr. Clinton he will be impeached. The biggest problem Mr Bush has is that unlike Mr Clinton he is NOT a popular president with the American people. He doesn't have the support Nixon and Clinton had or the approval ratings. I think it's going to get messy.

As to your 100 year-old Senator business, I don't really know what you're talking about, but I'll have to assume it wasn't against the law (as was Bush's spying apparently) because the Republicans certainly would have impeached him for it --- since they used to act like they gave a damn about the "rule of law" and all.

Brad: The 100-year-old Senator can only be Strom Thurmond. NCOCDR is suggesting that Clinton spied on Thurmond.
Now, there's no way a non-com in the military could possibly know this for a fact while overseas unless somebody higher up the command chain with access to Inside-the-Beltway gossip told him about it. If he heard it through civilian channels, how come we never saw anything about it in the paper?
Thurmond was a Republican, so you're absolutely right that his friends in Congress would have hung Clinton upside down from the Capitol dome if this had really happened. Even if Clinton had obtained a warrant, making the spying legal under FISA, the G.O.P. would milked it for publicity value and demanded that Ken Starr investigate it as a
"natural extension of Whitewater and Monicagate."
NCOCDR is making this up, no question.

I must share it with you.
" the cowboy came from out of the west
with his snakeskin boots and his bulletproof vest
gang of goons and his big war chest
fortunate son he was doubly blessed
corporate cronies and the chiefs of staff
bowin' to the image of the golden calf
startin up wars in the name of god's son
gonna blow us all the way to kingdom come
man of god, man of god
that ain't the teachings of a man of god
man of god, man of god
that ain't the preachings of a man of god
coalition of the willing and the judgmental
patricians, politicians, and the fundamentalists
you never have to tell them how the money's spent
you never have to tell them where their freedom went
homophobes in the high command
waitin' for the rapture like it's disneyland
hide all the bodies from out of view
channel all the treasure to the chosen few
man of god, man of god
that ain't the teachings of a man of god
man of god, man of god
that ain't the preachings of a man of god
if I could I surely would
stand on the rock where moses stood
look out people now we're gonna get fleeced
by a wolf masquerading as a man of peace
jesus said blessed are the meek
jesus said you gotta turn the other cheek
jesus said help the poor and the weak
if he lived today he'd be a liberal freak
all the money changers would be out on the street
weepin and wailin and gnashin their teeth
me I'm waitin on the reckoning day
when the whole world gonna rise up and say
man of god, man of god

Do you not understand that Clinton followed the rules of FISA and obtained the proper approval to perform his spying.
Bush on the otherhand tried to push through wire taps which FISA modified and in one case denied, so he went around FISA and performed his spying anyway. That is why it is illegal. Link Here

So.. HOCDR, your link says that the NSA has "listening stations" (under Clinton, we're talking about... never mind that they still run) all over the world.. and those stations are picking up FREE AIR TRANSMISSIONS, and scanning them for "key words"? The "recording of someone's calls", even a Senator's, isn't illegal as long as they are free-traveling airwaves.. or, at least, I'm sure that's what a court would find. Now, if Clinton ordered a "tap", that would be different... yet, your article doesn't mention that..
"One Echelon operator working in Britain told "60 Minutes" that the NSA had even monitored and tape recorded the conversations of the late Sen. Strom Thurmond."
hmm... Britain? I recon that's not happening in the Sen.'s house then.. Perhaps it was while he was at the Embasy there? or on a cell phone? or hell.. I have no clue, and the article doesn't mention.. I guess it "looks like" there's no teeth in your assertions that Clinton did something "illegal" or "unethical" or "wrong" in any fasion.. But never mind that FACT, right?
Hmm.. perhaps you just don't get the difference between listening to the signals that are freely moving around the world and PLANTING LISTENING DEVICES in someone's home? Or, targeting their specific phone line, as a "wire tap" could do (no need to actually enter the home, just clip on to the wires at the local transfer station.. you DO realize that the phone company knows -exactly- which wire pair goes to your house, right?).
Funny.. Apple = Orange to you guys..
Here's a note for you.. using a "cordless phone" REMOVES any right you have to "privacy" in a literal sense.. why? that phone is TRANSMITTING to places that are "out of your privacy rights range".. that is, standing on your sidewalk and talking means you are not guarenteed "privacy" or "rights to privacy", you're in public.. period.. and if your "signals" go into "public spaces", then your privacy is gone. Want "privacy"? don't use a cordless (or cell) phone, it's that simple.
Now, if they come and put a camera in my house, that's different.. if they bridge the "gap" between me and the phone company by "tapping into the wires", that's different.. if they install spyware on my computer to download info from my hard-drive, that's different.. If they intercept emails that are floating around the ENTIRE WORLD, nothing wrong there. If have no clue how the technology you use works, you give up rights. I know how the internet works, therefore I know how to protect myself.

The evidence cited by NCOCDR that Clinton spied on Strom Thurmond is based on a single unsupported claim by a single reporter. I'll concede that's stronger than a made-up claim would be, but hardly convincing...because there's no way Clinton could have kept it a secret from everyone except this Echelon guy. If he knew it, others knew it. Keeping secrets in Washington is about as easy as keeping secrets in Hollywood. Thurmond's friends in Congress would have raised hell about it, because they hated Clinton viscerally.
By the way, the Echelon reporter makes no claim that Clinton violated the law by failing to obtain a warrant. He simply says "Clinton spied on Thurmond." Bush has repeatedly violated the law, and has insisted he'll continue doing so.

Don't think it can't happen every great society has crashed in history and with this lack of leadership and proposful raping of our government it can and will happen to us.
