Thanks Valley Girl, Kira and Kat for this great piece of work. I've done this kind of transcription in the past and it is very demanding. You've done a terrific job. Applause all round!
Thanks Brad for posting the link. Is there some way of providing a "permanent" link on one of the side bars so that visitors to the site can find it long after this thread is gone from view? (Or maybe give it a thread with its own topic to make it easier to find in the archive? Something to make it easy to find. It's an important resource document.)

I just finished watching a three-and-a-half-hour documentary called The Money Masters. (see here)
Now I have a fuller understanding of why countries go to war. It generates huge deficits all round. Guess who wins--the people who control the central banks such as the Federal Reserve who lend money to governments so they can go to war. Wars and the inevitable increase in national debt serve as a massively efficient vehicles to transfer wealth to the people who create money (out of thin air). This is who benefits the most--a very tiny elite. Not to mention the Halliburtons and other garden-variety elites who profiteer as well.
Not only do we need election reform we need campaign finance reform, political reform and monetary reform. I wonder if we can do all this before the economy falls out from underneath us. Maybe a massive global depression is part of the PNAC script.

Come now Jimmo, we don't polute AOL networks with spam, so please don't polute ours.
A lesson Jimmo, true anonymity does not exist on the internet as of yet, except through projects like Freenet. Partial and/or temporary anonymity, while possible, are to some degree difficult and downright illegal in most of the world (due to the methods you would need to use.)
On another note, anyone notice the drop in the number of "Threat Level" increases over the past 7-8 months? I've been looking through the dhs site trying to find a calender of sorts outlining the threat warnings over the last year to year and a half. In the march up to the election, etc. Has anyone seen anything of that nature?

Catherine A - thanks for the link to Money Masters. Have you read this War is a Racket by Smedley Butler, Major General, United States Marine Corps?
It's imho a must read.
Excellent links, Jen! Thanks! Things seem so dark & dreary sometimes, especially with the resignation of O'Day --- however, she did cast her vote to put dimwit in office back in 2000. I can't forgive her for that, so maybe it's not such a big deal except the next one could be even worse --- if there is such a thing.

I have little sympathy for those who choose to embrace tyranny and be part of something that launches a nation into unlawful war.
They freely chose to be part of and substantially contribute to the unlawful war of aggression. For that, they should be held accountable as those who planned and executed the criminal acts. [ More . . . ]

Re: Citizen 663 and Brad:
I know everybody remembers this article that came out in May:
Tom Ridge on Bogus Terror Alerts
Ridge reveals clashes on alerts
By Mimi Hall, USA TODAY – 5/10/2005
WASHINGTON — The Bush administration periodically put the USA on high alert for terrorist attacks even though then-Homeland Security chief Tom Ridge argued there was only flimsy evidence to justify raising the threat level, Ridge now says.
Ridge, who resigned Feb. 1, said Tuesday that he often disagreed with administration officials who wanted to elevate the threat level to orange, or "high" risk of terrorist attack, but was overruled.
His comments at a Washington forum describe spirited debates over terrorist intelligence and provide rare insight into the inner workings of the nation's homeland security apparatus.
Ridge said he wanted to "debunk the myth" that his agency was responsible for repeatedly raising the alert under a color-coded system he unveiled in 2002.
"More often than not we were the least inclined to raise it," Ridge told reporters. "Sometimes we disagreed with the intelligence assessment.
Sometimes we thought even if the intelligence was good, you don't necessarily put the country on (alert). ... There were times when some people were really aggressive about raising it, and we said, 'For that?' "

Even more off topic, did anyone notice that the flags shown during the President's speech were displayed improperly (backwards), folded to suggest the main theme of the speech: 911. I kid you not.
The flags are folded so the blue is the top of the 9 and the number of stripes folded back and reduced to make two 1's...

Be cautious about jumping on this bandwagon. Rove is scum, but he is very slippery and cunning scum. Novak outed Plame, and will probably be ultimately pardoned since he did not give up his source (Rove) before other reporters (Cooper & Miller) were able to be targeted as scapegoats.
Bushco is still in power because they are capable of manipulating people and the press with despicable results. We must continue to contact our representatives and members of congress with phone calls, letters and emails expressing our belief that the integrity and future of the United States of America is at risk. Much thanks for the links Kira.
I'm still looking into it though, to get an idea of when it went up and down, specific dates and such. One thing I've found that is strange, this release from the Dept. of Homeland Security states that the president decided to raise the threat level, as opposed to the DHS, which is what all of the others I've looked at have stated.
There are so many press releases to sift through it's making my eyes cross
I wonder how much of what Tom Ridge is saying is just sitting out there in the public waiting for someone to notice.
God knows what else has been released thoughout the federal government that noone tied to anything but could be important now. It's not uncommon for managers and the like to put it in writing when their decisions are altered from above, but in a subtle, almost delicate way.

#11 - Catherine A. I posted this on another thread, but as it is being discussed here, too...
Relating to the "Money Masters" - Have you seen this, a proposed National Economic Stabilization and Recovery Act? It abolishes the Federal Reserve, issues real citizen currency and so on. It is a recommendation that can only come about in the event of a populist uprising - which is exactly what we need and I hope we are beginning (and of which Brad Blog is an element, I believe.)
By the way, there was a hoax about the similarly named act which has nothing to do with this one, which is a serious proposal.

I found it using WinAmp's "Internet TV" section in its Media Library. It serves streaming video: all sorts of interesting alternate media documentaries, etc.
Watch out for "Behind the Big News" though (in a bad way IMHO). It's JBS (John Birch Society) propaganda. It's critical of MSM and globalization, but heaps criticism only on the left of center. A 2003 documentary that doesn't even mention Bush I, Bush II, etc.
I rarely use WinAmp, but needed it to listen to RadioLeft, as their Windows Media stream was down.

Re: #36 - Reading through some of the pages of this proposed act, I see the authors specifically state that the Federal Reserve is "amended", not "abolished". They consider this distinction important.
There are parts I have some questions about. The main point is to start realizing that what we are told is necessary in terms of monetary and fiscal structure is not a fact of nature but it is actually a structure designed to enrich and hold in power a class of wealthy power brokers and is also is part and parcel of war-making.
I've seen "Money Masters". I have a few minor quibbles and questions in regard to its historical analysis, but the video is very powerful and opens up a central theme of America that has been largely buried in recent decades but that has often been the major conflict determining the character of our nation. (And the fact that is has been buried is one of the reasons we are in the condition that we find oursevles in currently.)

I do not have anything to add which is based on actual dates of the 'Threat Level' warnings or the color code used, but it has been my impression that pre-election there was a constant hum of possible warnings with some actual warnings spread into that.
As a 'Threat Level' warnings I would also include the mysterious appearence of the Osama tape which was also mysteriously authenticated in fast foreward time, just a week or so before the election.
Post election the warnings have been nil.
The bushmob has been quite brazen in using anything anytime to advance their grab and hold onto power agenda. They have never shown any concern about being exposed, thanks to the Mess
Media exposure would never be a factor.

The DHS doesn't seem to have ever decided on a standardized format for threat level press releases. I must admit, I really don't want to read through three years of them !
Following the link that Kira passed along, I noticed that it was generated by Juliusblog and after checking out his supporting data, which is pretty extensive and can be found here, has at least one irregularity. I was comparing dates for when threat level changes occurred when I noticed that that graph shows terror alerts and some increases in the threat level, missing the 03/17/2003 high alert, and one other (that I've found so far.)
My point in all of this is that the threat level is only a portion of the data, terror alerts were also extensively issued. Additionally, not all of this data appears to have been released from the same location!?
In any event, the supporting data at juliusblog is definately worth a look, pointing out the release of information that was months to years old and including some of the surrounding news events.

This is OT, but I wanted to put my thoughts "out there"
It seems that Rove will be exposed for outing Wilson's CIA wife (name escapes me at the moment), and Bush exposed for the cover-up (amongst the numerous other crimes and misdemeanors).
The reality is that America has inadvertantly put a ROGUE ADMINISTRATION in office, who believe they have been issued a "license to kill" in their own personal interests, rather than a duty to govern fairly and responsibly. Their main supporters are in the South, and the religious extremists who want to use this ROGUE ADMINISTRATION to try and force their own religious beliefs on everyone else.
The South had to be brought into line with the civil war. The South had to be brought into line over civil rights for all people. The South has to now be brought into line over this ROGUE ADMINISTRATION.
While there are some Court Justices who are also extremists who support this ROGUE ADMINISTRATION, e.g., the Supreme Court Justices which appointed GWB, there are many more who do not support this ROGUE ADMINISTRATION or agree with the direction in which the laws of America are heading.
It is time for those COURT JUSTICES thoughtout the country, who object to the attack on democracy, truth and justice in America by this ROGUE ADMINISTRATION to come together as one body, stand up and speak out against everything that is not right and just, including against those within the Court system who align with this ROGUE ADMINISTRATION's attack on democracy in America, such as certain Supreme Court Justices.
Yes, it will be a lot of work...but it will be CLEANSING...it will demonstrate that JUSTICE is not just another word in the dictionary not understood by GWB and his ROGUE ADMINISTRATION...it must be done.

Unpalatable Facts about Election Fraud
Excerpted from a longer discussion here, Harris responds to Patty's suggestion that Harris ought to be "using" the anger of Democrats who are outraged about the last election.
End of Patty's post (Harris's comments follow):
Patty:
I think you may be seeing an increase in readership or membership or whatever ---- precisely *because* so many democrats are disgusted with the GOP and their control. Regardless of how corrupt the democrats are. I think if Kerry had won, election reform efforts wouldn't have nearly the emotion working for them, that they do.
So you may want bipartisanship, and I have no issue with that. But don't lose sight of the fact that *partisanship* is working in your goal's favor at the moment.
Harris responds:
Patty, of course you are entitled to your opinion. What state do you live in?
The reason I ask is that I live in Washington state, dominated by Democrats, and it is quite often members of the Republican Party here who are valiantly trying to hold the fort against legislation for touch-screens, Internet voting, and just about everything else, often pushed hard by people in the Democrat party here.
I'm wondering if you are familiar with the ideological split between traditional Democrats and the Democratic Leadership Council, which believes explicitly in pulling the Democratic Party into a more conservative ideology. That is a good place to start. Google it. It explains a lot about why many Democrats voted for the war, the Patriot Act, HAVA, and just about every other Republican initiative that many in the Democrat base did not want.
The partisanship in this issue reached a peak just after the election. The goal seemed to be solely to flip the election. However, and I know this may be a very unpalatable concept to some, the results in New Hampshire in the primary, which basically put Kerry on the ticket, don't smell quite right. That race was run primarily on Diebold optical scans, and the system in New Hampshire isn't even federally certified, not that that is worth much. There was a very large discrepancy between the areas with and without the Diebold machines --- essentially, as I understand it --- correct me if I'm wrong here --- Dean and Kerry nearly tied where there were NOT voting machines, but there was about a 15 point spread where there WERE voting machines.
There are a number of other indicators that this is a more complex issue.
I do listen to those like you, but I also listen and watch when we're out in the field, really in the trenches, and we are finding some very distasteful, and fairly pervasive, evidence of involvement of Democrat (as well as Republican) obstruction of voting integrity issues.
It's actually out there, Patty. It's just that you run into it all the time in the field, but not often on the Internet. That's why I strongly encourage activists to leave their computer console as often as possible to attend public meetings on voting, in areas featuring both political parties. It sort of turns your stomach, but we have to face this stuff if we are to succeed in taking back our voting system.
Me? I don't trust political operatives from either party. I do surmise, fairly often in fact, that the Republicans are more skilled at this game than the Dems, who blunder about clumsily when trying to pull a fast one (witness Dean Logan in King County, pulling ballots out of his back pocket every few weeks).
Thanks, and we shall all go forth to improve the system.

Catherine a, sounds like there may be more than a few 4th of July fireworks in Hursti's Technical Report!

Bushw@cker,
I'd say so. I keep checking over there to see if it's out yet.
When Harris asked Hursti to help, they carried out the successful exploit recently in Ion Sancho's district on actual election machines.
It is deeply disturbing that several US computer experts who presented themselves to analyze the software code (people who supposedly supported the election integrity movement) found vulnerabilities but said nothing about them. One told Harris he would say something "after the election." Ditto for one of the Fla Election Supervisors--but he never said anything till after Hursti's successful demonstration of the hack. And of course Diebold knew all along, as this is evident from their internal correspondence and the code itself. They all--including independent experts--allowed the election to go forward even though they knew the machines were designed to be easily hackable. (It appears to have been a design feature, rather than a flaw--even if not openly discussed in this way. The programmers worked hard to make sure the backdoor stayed in place throughout many subsequent upgrades.)
I hope the Technical Report and its conclusions circulate as widely as possible. I believe Harris plans to call for: a recall of many Diebold optical scanners, investigation of scanners made by other vendors, and a complete moratorium on using ANY electrical equipment in elections until the problems are investigated and sorted out. There will probably be other recommendations as well.

Catherine A,
Yes, I read that bit on Bev's forum where the expert computer programmers were more focused upon their future career prospects than ensuring that the world's largest democracy was able to conduct free and fair elections!
So Diebold's stocks won't be the only E-Voting Co stocks heading south after BBV's report hits the fan? Hmmm! Think I'll buy up big on some paper and pencil manufacturer's stocks!
As you would know, in Australia, we have a "low tech" paper and pencil ballot system, a non political electoral commission to draw up the electoral boundaries and tally the votes and surprise! surprise! 100% public confidence in the electoral process.
