NUK CLEAR A WAR IN IRAQ - WMDUSA
" Uranium-tipped bombs, shells and bullets are just different forms of slow-acting, nuclear weapons by stealth. They are slower than the instant big boom and flash of Nagasaki type Nuclear Weapons. Now we are using the next generation of nuclear weapons on the hapless civilians of Iraq - and our own soldiers, indeed the whole world, is going to pay a heavy price. Uranium weapons spread deadly radioactivity that kills and contaminates forever.
Japanese professor, Dr. K. Yagasaki, has calculated that 800 tons of DU is the atomicity equivalent of 83,000 Nagasaki bombs. The U.S. has used more DU since 1991 than the atomicity equivalent of 400,000 Nagasaki bombs. 10 times the amount of radiation released into the atmosphere from atmospheric testing!
In June 2003, the World Health Organization announced in a press release that global cancer rates will increase 50 percent by 2020.
So when you are filling up tomorrow’s breakfast dish with cereal - spare a sobering thought that those flakes of corn could be contaminated by an invisible danger - but even if they are not, rest assured that hundreds of thousands of people are."

BIGOT
A person who is religiously attached to a particular computer,
language, operating system, editor, or other tool (see
religious issues). Usually found with a specifier; thus,
"Cray bigot", "ITS bigot", "APL bigot", "VMS bigot", "Berkeley
bigot". Real bigots can be distinguished from mere partisans
or zealots by the fact that they refuse to learn alternatives
even when the march of time and/or technology is threatening
to obsolete the favoured tool. It is truly said "You can tell
a bigot, but you can't tell him much." Compare weenie.

U.S. plans radioactive project
The New York Times
MONDAY, JUNE 27, 2005
The Bush administration is planning the government's first production of plutonium 238 - a highly radioactive substance valued as a power source - since the Cold War, stirring debate over the risks and benefits of the deadly material. It is hot enough to melt plastic and so dangerous that a speck can cause cancer.

Re: Peg C.,
It's a slow news day and I'm bored, when I should be sleeping or working. It is all speculation in that link brought about by my lack of entertainment today. Of course, it's always a good idea to keep an open mind, lacking the truth based on facts...
"When do we save the world and humanity from itself?"
That's part of the larger goal and certainly one of the results of our endeavors if we are to be successful. It is an all-encompassing question of a huge problem, best solved by breaking it down into smaller, more manageable pieces. So, better now to act in orderly fashion, repairing individual processes and remaining confident, than fret over the bigger things we cannot immediately do anything about. We will win but it's going to be a very long trek. Remain focused and confident.

Why will "buck fush" appoint Bolton during "recess"
’’U.S. President George W. Bush/British Prime Minister Tony Blair invasion of Iraq is in complete breech of international law. The war crimes committed in that blatant military aggression, the most serious of international crimes, must be charged to Bush as the Commander-in-Chief, and to Blair as the Prime Minister who abused war powers. Bush should be charged with use of State terrorism. This is the kind of state terrorism that provides a tragic reminder of the US nuclear crime of bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It is the kind of state terrorism besides which small scale ’terrorist’ resistance pales in comparison. However, both forms of terrorism are internationally unlawful and unacceptable,’’ he stressed.

" A former United Nations official who worked in Iraq says he does not believe it possesses weapons of mass destruction.
The official, Denis Halliday, was the UN humanitarian co-ordinator in Iraq in 1997-98.
Mr Halliday said he thought a US attack on Iraq was likely later this year, and people there were deeply concerned.
Any attack could mean appalling losses of Iraqi civilians and US troops. "

Re: #20 Peg C,
I am terrified too, though I don't accredit that as a fear and I can't use that word for it. I have become a bit conditioned to the day-to-day atrocities and have accepted the fact that we are powerless in preventing most for the time being.
The bush doctrine is accelerating virtually uncontested, on time and on target. Whatever happens tomorrow may be nothing compared to the events of the following day, the following month, or the following year. Indeed the atrocities of the bush doctrine shapes our recent history and so our emotional center on most days. My lack of fear and terror stems from this knowledge rather than the lack of it, if that makes any sense.
I know that if I allow fear or terror to be a factor in my life then I'll be useless. I know that I may die, simply because I am seeking out solutions and so my comments will sometimes be blunt, many times profound, often without any emotion. But that doesn't mean I don't care or feel. I still smile and I still love many. And you here are some that I do.
Terror and fear dwell only within the minds of the guilty; The criminal enemies of our Constitution and murderers of their own people. Lets allow them their sole right to experience that, while we continue for the good. Lets insist they do.

It would be an interesting study to do a rhetorical comparison between old right wing slurs against Jews and the updated slur: "The Secular Jew."
I used to listen to talk radio more than I do now, and I often heard people griping about "secular Jews" on the one hand, but decrying the "anti-semitism" of liberals on the other. Of course it is disingenuous as hell. It presumes that any Jewish person who is not a right-wing nut job is part of the Communist Conspiracy (but of course, they have stopped referring to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion as proof of a socialist conspiracy engineered by an elite group of godless, Jewish communists and sexual deviants).
For Republicans, the running theme seems to be it is okay to be Black, Jewish, Mexican, Muslim, Gay (actually this one is only OK if it is kept secret), a woman... as long as you think, act, and dress exactly like we tell you to. In a relative sense, it is a freaking rainbow of diversity. Our conservatives used to be simply a WASP enclave.... and they didn't even bother to invite anyone into their country clubs.
So if a Mexican person moves into the Gated Community and nobody kicks him out... all the other neighbors are like, "What are you talking about Howard Dean!?! Didn't you see that guy who moved in down the street? And as long as doesn't play any of his loud fiesta music or paint his house like a chi-chi's restaurant... he will be welcome in our community." And it's true, in the olden days, they would have a restrictive covenant to keep him out. But now, thanks to the shrills cries of liberals, they HAVE to let him move in. And they feel it every damned day... which is why they have anti-affirmative action rallies, resent the very idea of apologizing for any past transgression (whether it be for slavery, lynching, genocide, theft, internment, etc.), they support profiling, see no problem with the prison system, despise political correctness, etc. This is also why they relish codewords like "secular jew," "welfare queen," and "illegal aliens." It reminds them of the days when they could just say whatever they wanted... but the mere fact that they have to use codewords only reaffirms their own status as the poor oppressed victims of the larger liberal conspiracy.
The outsourcing of jobs by their Republican bosses is diverted into wild fantasies about affirmative action hires walking into jobs while they collect unemployment. The dynamic is similar to the one that created the Ku Klux Klan and the Nazi Party. How easy it is to create a fictional wine-swilling, cheese-eating Liberal elite. They whine. They are weak. They are cowards. They are secretly trying enslave you. Their art is deviant. They want to destroy your way of life. They are depraved. They are friends with the terrorists. (The neoconservatives know the qualities of the elite, because it is their world, too). Poor economic opportunities require a scapegoat.
Those who don't lose their jobs, see the unease and difficulty of those who are just barely beneath them, and attempt to fortify their last remaining vestiges of privilege by hardening their hearts. And so these ones rail against the welfare state for allegedly creating unemployment, even though the job market is tight. They fear that the growing rate of poverty will drain their already limited resources. To stay sane, they are willing to believe any rosy picture that those in power will paint for them. They turn towards entertainment and news that soothes. They want a hero to save them. And before too long, you are living in a Red State.

All,
It gets worse for OSD and RNC. There are reports posted today that US troops denied committing war crimes.
But, there are photographs allegedly showing them planting weapons on children and calling them "insurgents." [More . . . ]
There's no reason to be fearful of your speaking out when youru goverment lies about wars; commits war crimes; and then the troops engage in conduct that brings discredit not only on the country, but destroys any reasponable confidence that they are civilized warriors defending your consitutiton.
It remains to be seen how widespread the misconduct is in the US military, not only on the battlefield, but in the Pentagon and OSD in dissuading you to look into the Downing Street Memo and the White House unlawful war of aggression. Take a look at the comments and reaction on this board --- [More . . .]
Keep up the pressure! Your work may not appear to be making much progress form where you can see it, but it is making big waves inside OSD and with those who are increasingly worried about being held liable for war crimes.
The Downing Street Memo and your pressure is forcing them to make some very serious decisions.
They are running out of options, time, and allies because of your great work!
Great job! You're busting down some very big walls and they are running out of places to hide.
Remember, we outnumber them and their allies are walking away. Just because you simply speak out in your blogs.
Be proud of what you are doing simply by noticing what is going on, using your minds, and blogging about it. You're making a huge impact not only for the country, but the Constitution and history.

When I say I am "terrified," I am definitely not implying that I am cowed. This terror is aggressive. I am outraged and incensed that MY country, MY planet, MY universe has been commandeered and manhandled by the soulless, nihilistic goon squad that is our present "administration." "Administration" is, BTW, a horrific misnomer. "Infliction" is more like what these gansters are up to.

Your work is commendable. You should be proud of your willingness to jump in and make a difference.
I have carefully reviewed the message traffic and had the chance to get some information from various "sources." Things are going well.
I've outlined a game plan for you to discuss, rip apart, and share with others. This is merely notional for you to consider and I look forward to hearing your comments and feedback. [More . . .]
This will give you an idea of the larger issues being discussed as a way forward. Your inputs and thoughts will be carefully noted and I encourage you to share your other ideas and approaches with others around the globe in the blogosphere.
For there to be a credible way forward, we need an inquiry; but this will outline for you what is needed in terms of the larger issues. Clearly, there are many issues and decisions to be made in the coming days.
The RNC has three [3] days [Deadline: Thursday, 30 Jun 2005] to provide a credible alternative. If we hear nothing, game on for this approach.

Sarah #56 and #57 -
Prior to 9/11, the power of Bushco to get anything it wanted was still limited by a modicum of critical thinking in other branches of the government. When David Shayler calls 9/11 a "coup d'etat" (I'm sure he would spell it correctly), he meant that the event enabled the "administration" to grab the reins, dig in the spurs and barrel forward with whatever warlike and repressive policies they had in mind to ensure that PNAC would stay on schedule.
You've seen the results. The bush-baby wanted war from the get-go. He wanted to be "Commander-in-Chief," the little bastard. All he had to do was kill 3,000 Americans, create a little mess and a traumatized public and forge ahead with his dreams of world-wide mayhem.
