Brad,
I can't listen to you live tonight, although I want to! Green960 doesn't have Angie Coiro archive. Angie's page looks like it's slow to post podcasts and has no podcast subscription available. I can look in a week, but want to listen to it sooner. Any ideas?
Steve

Oh crap, a new word/terminology "digital voting services"
http://politics.slashdot...oftware-Concept-Released
Massive failure on the hardware though. None of it takes into account the "open software" runs on hardware which can be exploited, and is not checked. Which is still a broken chain of custody.

OUTLAW (Electronic Vote Tabulation Devices)NATIONALLY!
you don't trust your child running across the freeway, why trust your vote likely doing the same thing?

Phil @ 3:
I was at the event in Los Angeles on Wednesday in which the presentation was made by the OSDV, with Debra Bowen (CA SoS) and Dean Logan (Los Angeles County Registrar) also here.
During the Q&A I tried to ask an important question to the assembled, and received an interesting answer from Bowen. Trying to track down some specifics on that answer, and will cover here at BRAD BLOG if I'm able to shed any light in the process.
Unfortunately, we were not allowed to video tape the event (though believe me, I did try and caused a bit of a scene in the bargain!), but it was taped by the event organized and they say they'll be making it available, FWIW.
The full article (which your Slashdot link quotes from) is here, written by Wired's Kim Zetter who was also there on Wednesday night.
Also had interesting private conversation with both Bowen and Logan after the public part of the event, concerning Hand-Count Pilot Program, as called for in my recent article here. Will likely cover that as well, in some fashion, as things move forward.

I listened with a bit of a delay to the podcast, and was surprised when a caller urged you to support net neutrality by supporting the Internet Freedom Act. Neither you nor your guest on the phone countered that that particular 'act' is John McCain's pro-business, ANTI net neutrality proposal (if the trick name can fool you, imagine how it's going to fool the voters).
